Hi ED 002, just seen that we're apparently interested in David villa is their any chance on that? As villa is class

Given David Villa has never wanted to play outside of Spain, is 30+ and no doubt be expensive in terms of insurance and wages, I am not so sure it would be a great move by any EPL club. I am expecting him to extend his contract at Atletico Madrid.}

{Ed002's Note - There has certainly been a Southampton enquiry with the agent of Danny Ings, so I assume the answer to be yes. If Shaw were to leave it is not out of the question that Southampton would look to Ryan Bertrand.

West Brom, Everton and Southampton have enquired about Victor Moses in addition to Hannover 96 and Lille who have previously shown an interest. The enquiries were all very tentative.

Clearly a goalkeeper is being sought with the interest in Kasper Schmeichal. There has also been interest in Astori.

Lallana would attract interest from a number of clubs including Liverpool, Spurs, Manchester United and Chelsea if available but Southampton have no intention of selling him unless a very attractive offer is made and the player wants to move on.

There is interest in Shaw from Chelsea and Manchester United - but not at the price Southampton previously quoted Chelsea. Chelsea has spoken with Southampton about a player going in part-exchange but the price remains unpalatable still. Interest from Manchester United remains, but they will look to negotiate a lower fee.

Crystal Palace, Everton and Swansea all have an interest in Jack Cork. Southampton would like to keep him but his contractual situation may make that difficult.}

{Ed002's Note - (a) I would expect the club will want to offer him a new deal. I am not aware of the situation. (b) I really don't want to discuss money as transfer fees and all other fees seems to confuse most fans. (c) Pochettino has already said no to an offer from one club but is still of interest to both Spurs and Monaco. I expect he would want to do nothing until the season is over and then see what offers are made. I would not be surprised if he moved on. (d) There is serious interest in Shaw and I suspect Manchester United will push really hard for a deal.}

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer "likely" questions without speculating so I don't want to get your hopes up. Any formal approach for the manager would need to be through the club, so if Spurs want to make a formal offer and to talk with him then yes. Other clubs less concerned with petty rules might just send a beautiful French or Russian woman to have lunch with managerial targets.}

There are rumors in Portugal that we have been scouting William Carvalho from Sporting, and Rafa Silva, from Braga, neither will be cheap but nothing seems to be happening at the moment while the Portuguese season has yet to close.

William Carvalho is apparently very likely for United. Also he'd be absolutely ridiculously expensive, and not playing in an are we don't already have quality. Rafa Silva we were linked with early in March by the reflecting glass paper. He reminds me of Messi in his style, though he is nowhere near as good in front of goal. Also I'm not sure he's much of a team player, he seems to want to do it all himself and that isn't really what the Southampton Way is about. I suppose that could be coached out of him though. For the right price it could be a good signing.

Chelsea want Luke Shaw and wanna offer someone in part-exchange?

Ok, then, well as the selling club, how about this as our starting valuation, might be interested in doing this deal:

£80m, plus the following players: Courtois, Ivanovic, Cole, APurpleSweater, Cahill, Terry, Ramires, Matic, Lampard, McEachran, Oscar, Hazard, Lukaku, Bamford.

Basically, what I'm saying is, Splash your money all you like, it's going to cost you a lot! ;)

Fresh reports in Portugal over the weekend that Rafa Silva is being chased by Southampton. Saints still among the suitors for William Carrvalho who incidentally would cost about the same as Shaw.
