Saints are looking to bring in Ronaldinho to the club as the player is currently a free agent.

Saints missed out on Nathan Redmond late on during deadline day, and only let Gaston leave as they thought the Norwich man was coming through the door. With Koeman now feeling the team is a little light on creative talent, he's looking at the Brazilian on a one-year deal (currently 34 years old) to inject some spark for the season. This is seen as somewhat of a gamble, but the board is willing to break they're normal stance of buying young players with a sell-on value and subsidize his substantial wages from money left over from our summer transfer dealings. On a secondary note, this will also assist in promoting the club as a more global brand, knowing that the name Ronaldinho alone will sell many shirts both here and abroad.

Absolute rubbish, if we are short because RoKo thought we'd get Redmond, he could surely just call back Gaston as it's a loan deal?

Words cannot describe how much I would love this. Ronaldinho on the back of a Saints shirt. Thought QPR were after him ages ago and his wages may be loads but we would get loads of publicity and his skills and experience :)

Not a chance

I'd love this to be true, just for the fun of it, but this so obviously total malarkey. I wouldn't trust wherever you got this info Ben!

I am going to stick me neck out and say this is the worst rumour I have ever seen on this site. Top marks for comedy value though and if it were possible to sign the Ronaldinho from 2004/5 I would be all for it.

If I am not mistaken, Prem clubs can't recall loan players outside of the transfer window unless there is a breach of loan agreement i.e. not playing the player! I am probably wrong though. Can't see a freebie like this due to wages. But hey, ho - stranger things have happened!

A man with no club. can't see him be able to demand high wages.

Sorry guys, I did make that up! It would be good though, and give me credit - I made it sound semi-believable!? ;-)

I would HATE this, he hasn't been any good since he left barca. Le tiss would be better, plus he has signed for a Mexican club. He is barely good enough now for a testimonial. Certainly not premier league quality
