Any truth in the Austin rumours edd.

It will go the same way as before unless one or more of the interested clubs were to offer the asking price and then the player can make the decision. I expect Bournemouth are, like West Brom, out of the picture. Newcastle, Galatasaray, Aston Villa and, perhaps, Crystal Palace or Southampton may well step forward with an acceptable offer. He is keen to stay in the south of England so Newcastle or Galatasaray would need to put a very attractive package together to make anything happen.}

Southampton are on the verge of signing Charlie Austin from Queens Park Rangers, according to Sky sources.

We understand the player has had his medical and agreed personal terms, and will join for a fee believed to be in the region of £4million.

Austin’s contract at Loftus Road is due to run out in the summer.
