Right let's look at the bright side saints were a good club before koeman (thinking about it he's ginger and you can't trust gingers as they have no souls) and we'll still be a good club after koeman there's no point trying to guess who will be the next manager we didn't know about poch till it was a done deal and we didn't know about koeman till it was a done as well as many players. The infrastucture at the club is clearly sound proof I remember reading something before or just after koeman was appointed along the lines of the set up at the club is designed in a way that no 1 person is bigger than the club and so that when a cog breaks off or stops working it can be replaced as simply as is possible don't worry look forward to next year europe here we come and look at it this way what has koeman ever done managing a club in europe he couldn't even get us past a sunday league side at best last year
Coyr + england (3-2 win tonight)

Yep, I remember Les or Ralph saying we scout managers better than most clubs scout players so if something does happen it's known who'll fit the style and ambition of the club instantly.

I remember reading something similar and the appointments of ponch and Koeman suggest this is true. Also true that neither manager was expected or favourites to sign. Likelihood is there is some gem of a manager somewhere like turkey second league that we have half an eye on.

It's easy to come out and say how great our scouting is when the managers have been successful, but at some point a manager is going to come, looking to use saints as his golden ticket and its going to go belly up. Someone else made the point that at some point we have to start showing the balls to tell staff (playing and non playing) . There is only so long this can happen year on year before the bubble bursts.

Players leave. that's it doesn't matter what club in the world it is the days of players and managers syaying at clubs for 10 years plus is long gone and is never coming back.

Arsene Venger has been at the Arsenal for 20 years and qualified for the CL every year of his reign . People might say he has under achieved recently but the club has always been run sensibly from a financial point of view . If multi billions had been thrown at it by the mega rich they would have without doubt won the PL many more times. Why can't a manager be at one club for 10 years, what is wrong with that? I am not an Arsenal supporter but I respect how the club has been run.

I respect arsene wenger and arsenal too your taking it the wrong way its just very very rare that many clubs will keep managers or players long now they always think the grass is greener and we as a club with the players we've sold lately have proved it is not but money turns heads.

I actually think arsenal and arsene do well. It may of gone a bit stale and perhaps it is time for a change there but financially they were impeccable. There was even rumoured to be a clause set by the bank that loaned the money for the Emirates that arsene would remain manager during the period of repayment! Dunno how true that is but believe it was arsene who made the claim.

I agree with Saint Dan. Arsenal are the exception. As were Manchester United with fergie and look what happened to them after he left, as many managers as any other club. Wenger is the only manager in the top flight to have been at a club for as long as he has. That said though, everything we get a manger since being in the prem, they have had their heads turned a bit to easily by clubs that are barely any better than us in terms of potential. Poch went to Spurs who area fairly big club yes, but certainly not bigger than we could be in just a few years, and Everton?! My head still spins at that decision.
