More and more sites are reporting interest for gabbiadini fella from Napoli and an Italy international, 24 years old and a striker cutie Liverpool player. Sounds like a good move to me, young (ish) and fills a shirt up front. Hopefully we can get this across the line soon if it's true. Tidy up the squad and get them in early. Hold onto our key players and look at a CB too.

Think gabiadini would be a good and badly needed addition to the squad, as I fear we are lacking a bit of firepower up front with mane and pelle now gone, but money comes first with the saints board.

{Ed002's Note - Napoli's Manolo Gabbiadini has attracted firm offers from Schalke, West Ham, Sevilla and Valencia according to the club. Southampton, Bologne, Eintracht Frankfurt, Crystal Palace and Spurs have all expressed an interest but have not approached Napoli with and offer. Napoli are keen to resolve his future but that might well depend on the future of others at the club and a plauyer they are talking about trying to bring in. And having lost out on Jese they may look to a new contract with Gabbiadini.}

The player has said several times he is settled, happy and wants to stay in napoli. Personally I can't see this happening. And claude seems happy with the squad so unless there are any unforseen outgoings. I think we are pretty much done in the market. Unless as the club has said "an oppertunity comes up"

Thanks ed, so we're nowhere near signing him then, keep counting the money les.

{Ed002's Note - Unless the post about him being spotted in the Southampton Argos store is true?}

It was ASDA.

I think that Saint Marko' s fixation with Les Reed is starting to border on a paranoid tendency. (I hope he doesn't start stalking him! ). Seriously I think that funds are available to Claude if and when required. No need to panic buy. I also wouldn't be surprised of any signing/ s coming out of the blue. Keep the faith.

No there's no fixation at all with les reed, but as a premiership club taking in over 60 million in transfers sells and only spending 20 odd million on players coming in, I feel a little short changed by the club, I've been a supporter for 40 years now and feel we are lacking ambition at the moment, sorry.

Hardly likely to have been spotted in Asda, mums go to Asda. Or is that Iceland? Do Asda do the roll back? Yep, that's right. Asda prices and roll back. More likely Les was spotted there then. Oh well. Onwards and upwards. Seriously though, I can see us picking up a striker based on Sam Gallagher going out on loan, in typical Southampton fashion though, if we do get a striker, it will be a name none of us know much about and will have unlikely been reported as we tend to do much of our business behind firmly closed doors.

Saint Marko, we are improving year on year. Spending big money isn't necessarily the right thing to do. We have proven that. Spending the right money on a good player is though. We aren't in the big boy league quite yet but we are starting to knock on the door. Have faith we will get there.

My partner and myself have been supporters for about the same periods and weathered the ups and downs. We are now financially stable thank god and extremely well managed. I feel lacking the ambition statement is a bit harsh. The club hasn't spent silly money to achieve euro football over the last two years. We're only 10 days into the transfer market with plenty of time to get additions in at. sensible prices. Let the big boys throw silly money around.

I'm glad that our board are not one of these. Let's see how the season goes before criticising I suggest. But I can understand Saint marko frustrations. Keep the faith old pal. Que sera, sera .

Cyprus saint we have definitely not improved this season, weaker squad and manager.
