How ungracious is fonte? he made a statement that he was signing for a massive club who want to challenge for top 8. wow we've finished top 6 he wants to win trophies well we are that close to a Wembley final there was no thank you to the club or even the fans that supported him over the 7 years.

he was here let's face it he would never played for Portugal if he didn't play for saints so bye Jose I hope you enjoy the money but it's a downward move for a player at the end of his career the only one who gains from this move is his agent who engineered and agitated for this move.

Just a post script to my post I've just heard he signed a 2 1/ 2 year contract we offered him an extra year plus 80,000 a week so he's left for less than we offered nice move Jose way to go. Ha ha

Fontes letter to us all in the echo Dear Saints fans
A lot could be said, I could argue and disagree, I could go on all day but in the end what it really matters is the journey we have been together.
We have been to Wembley and won, achieved promotion after promotion, great premier league seasons with records broken, European football. and the list goes on!
Not for a moment I regret anything I did, because I have given my all every single day I have worn the Saints crest until the last second of my last training session!
I have never rejected to play in any circumstances! A lot has been said about me and my situation, most of it lacked any accuracy but we all know how the football business works!
So now it's time to say THANK YOU!
To everyone without exception, even the ones who can't accept it and don't understand THANK YOU!
I will take every single one of you in my heart and all the great memories!
To all my team mates throughout the last 8 seasons thank you, for pushing me to be better, for inspiring me, for laughing with me for arguing with me and even fighting me 😂
I'm a better player because all of you made strive for greatness!
A mention to all my managers to in Pardew, Adkins, Pochetino, Koeman and Puel for teaching me a lot in different ways!

Pathetic and self centred and insincere you used to inspire but since the euros and your new agent you changed its always the same when saints players go on international jute the earworms start their whispering it's done you no good you've gone to a mediocre club with no prospect's and a shorter contract than you were already on you should have been one of the saints legends but it's just left a bad smell in the air of the farmyard.

A lot of you bitch off about players who leave without knowing the full extent of why they have left. Can't you just appreciate the job they did for us? The man is a southampton legend and deserves a lot more respect. If you was to grow unhappy with certain things at your job you would change companies.

that's no different to the players. Without knowing the full truth we should all just appreciate what previous players and managers have done. It keeps happening over and over which to me suggests there is a problem with how the players are handled by the board.

Strange Fonte and Koeman insinuating that Saints forced them out.
Why would we force the manager and captain out of the club? They tried to engineer better financial situations for themselves and Saints didn't bow down.
Now there gone who cares? If Stephens has 20 good games he'll be worth 8 million to (at least to Liverhampton) and Fonte can enjoy finishing 9th.
