So is the fact that Bertrand has been absent lately a sign that he is on his way out?

I would think so prob Man City or perhaps Liverpool hardly be missed I don’t think Mcqueen and targett both playing well enough and buds in for 2 youngsters if he wanted to go I for one would say thankyou and good luck. Just has to be aware of lovren shaw Clyne fonte moves although I feel he prob more level headed.

More a sign that he’s injured tbh.

I hope you are right. Same goes for Cedric. Any news on a replacement for Van Dijk? Yoshida is way too flakey to be a long term starter.

I actually think yoshida has been brilliant and deserves a lot of credit. 2 reasons first he comes in and does a job. as long as he knows his role he's actually done a good job. And secondly he doesn't strike me as the stereotypical modern day footballer. He looks like he knows he has to work hard for rewards and seems like a great character to have in and around the squad. I've got a lot of respect for Maya. and he knows what's best for the team. If Stephens and hoedt are our starting centre half a he'll be ready, willing and able to step in when needed.

I agree rayzer, not only has yoshi been quite good defensively, but he has also been quite a good attacking threat, especially of set pieces. He has scored some nice goals this season and has also had some unlucky shots hit the bar. Personally I don't think we need a replacement for VVD. I assumed bringing in hoedt in the last transfer window was the replacement for when vvd goes. the money would be better off being used to strengthen our attack, and make it back into a consistent goal scoring machine. we currently have a -10 goal difference.

I was saying this about pagoda over the summer that he deserves to start. I’m a bit concerned that he’s made a few mistakes this year, seems a bit slow of the mark sometimes but never for lack of trying or passion.

Our defence in the spurs game was horrendous! The amount of space Kane had for his goal was embarrassing! And it often the same when we defend any set piece.

Do you not feel that comes a little from the uncertainty of the central defensive pairing. also with Cedric and Bertrand out I think if we can revert to a stable solid back four I think we will look good again. I think hoedt and Stephens for me are probably the starters. I also think as I've said before confidence will come from the gk too. hopefully ff regains a bit of form or McCarthy continues with the type of performance Saturday.

Hmmm. Maybe you're right. I agree with you about hoedt and Stephens starters. But my concern is that the absence of our full backs is mirroring the absence of van Dijk before his transfer was announced. Because as it currently is, our defensive line isn't good enough. At this point, I just feel that we are counting on 3 teams to continue to be worse than us.

Massive game tonight we cannot afford to lose Soares with only pied as cover however if Ryan wants to move in we have both Mcqueen and targett and 35m to spend on new players so would not be the end of the world.

I think both Cedric and Bertrand are both injured. I've noticed Cedirc has been away over Xmas but Bertrand was in training yesterday and seemed focussed.

Hope you all share my concerns now! We are in big trouble.
