apparently there is high interest in celtic's Stuart armstrong. any trith in this eds?

{Ed007's Note - Yes. Armstrong is available and Southampton and WBA are definitely interested in him but nothing will happen - if it's going to happen in this window -until Celtic get back from Dubai next week.}

Why the hell do we need yet another midfielder. We are swimming in them for God's sake. Strikers are what we need .

Apparently he can play on the left jonah as I've been told by celtic fan.

{Ed007's Note - He can play in CM/LM or as a No.10.}

Don't know anything about him really but I've been saying we need a No 10/ CAM type player so sounds like he could be good.

Would prefer to see someone like him than spending loads on Walcott.

{Ed007's Note - As usual the question is whether he can make the step up from Scotland to England but he held his own in Europe no problem. I'm actually pretty disappointed to see him leaving as he struggled at first with us but I was always willing him to show what he can do and he started turning things round when Rodgers came in - I had him pegged as a future Celtic captain. If he does join you won't be 'moaning' about his effort and commitment, he'll work and graft every minute he's on the park and he will score some cracking goals too. He's a quiet unassuming lad - and is or was studying for a law degree - and that sometimes comes across as nonchalant but behind that he's got a heart of a lion.}

Ed007 - that does sound impressive and sounds like a player we could do with, maybe a replacement for Davis. The only thing I would say and would love to see us bring in is a player with a bit of attitude about him, someone that will stand up and fight. I look at our squad and to me we always seem to sign the quite type!

{Ed007's Note - He's not quiet when he's on the pitch, he's an aggressive player and likes a meaty tackle - ooo er matron!}

It's a well-trodden path from Parkhead to St Mary's and they've all been successful buys, no reason this should be any different if it goes ahead.

Ed007 - well then I would love to see him play at St Marys. Can I ask, do you not get fed up with us keep coming for your best players? I know its football but like Liverpool taking our best players, I struggle with it. I know VVD is good business but still it hurts for us to sell our best year in year out.

{Ed007's Note - It does pee me off when we're playing in the CL where players like Forster, VVD and Wanyama would make a big difference to our team but as you said, it's what football is these days. In a way though it helps our recruitment because we can offer players a proven route to the EPL so it's a bit swings and roundabouts.}

Ed, that is a good way to look at it, I admire your maturity. For me even at 40 now I still struggle to accept it, you would think us saints fans should be used to it by now.

I actually can't believe the liverpool fan on Talk sport this morning, he actually was angry that liverpool's best players keep getting sold! WTF, try being a celtic or Southampton supporter mate! . Anyway keep up the good work Ed's, you all do a sterling job.
