Ings IN, Long OUT would do for me. THen Petagna IN and Carrillo OUT and our strikers are there. Elyounoussi for Tadic, but we'd need another attacking midfielder for Boufal. Santos upgrade from Gardos for sure. And Gunn > Forster.

Just out of interest, why do you want petagna in? He has a useless record, worse than carrillo's, and he seems like a similar player.

cant be worse than Carrillo, can he? To me Carrillo doesn't look ike a professional footbaler in any aspect. don't know about Petagna, but Carrillo was Pellegrinos signing, hope Petagna has something more which made Southampton interested in him.

Agree on Petagna, although I've never seen the guy play in fairness. His record doesn't look impressive though.

Might not have an amazing scoring record but as a comparison to Carillo.

He is younger, physically stronger, taller and his link up play is vastly superior.

I'd be surprised if any of Long, Carillo, or Forster leave. You can't just force players out and there's no way any of these three will be able to get the wages they are getting at Southampton anywhere else. So unless they are prepared to take massive pay cuts (which is very unusual/ doubtful) I think we're stuck with them.

Make me laugh Carillo out give the guy a chance nobody calling for Austin to leave has never been fit missed plenty of chances at the end of the season and not premier league standard but no clamour for him to go.

I take it you missed the part where he scored 18 goals in the top flight for a dreadful QPR team then? Give him a break. He had a festive spell with us until injury ruled him out and after that our midfield somehow forgot how to feed him the ball.
And I am not anti Carillo. I feel the criticism of him with regards to the situation when he joined is a bit too harsh. Give him a proper pre season under a coach who at least knows what he's doing. He still needs to adapt and having different options up top can benefit us a lot this season. The style we played last season did not benefit our strikers in any way. We shouldn't be looking for scapegoats just for the sake of it.

Carrillo and Forster will definitely leave. Long will if we could get another pacy striker .

Carrillo got enough chances under Pellegrino, but did not convince me at any footballing area. Coaches who see him week in week out in training can make their judgement without giving too much playing time. That was the case eg. with Forren. And I think that is the case with Carrillo as well.

Boufal is technically good, if not superb, but his game reading and decision making is very poor. Very similar to Redmond to be honest.

As for Chazza, the guy got eye for a goal. He has proved that. Last season's Everton game a good example of that. And he was a couple of times unlucky not to score, which can't be said on Carrillo.

Yeah but chazza can't last 90 mins and I’d be loathed to bring on a sub who may not finish the game with his injury muscle problems. Plus he missed plenty of chances in his run of games at the end infesting how everyone has a soft spot for him (lifestyle often questioned) year an established squad player at Monaco is rubbish need to move on Austin and long and bring in what Gabbi needs to flourish which I think is a target hold up player to bring him in. Ie Gallagher Carillo if we don’t sign anyone.
