Any INs/ OUTs before the window shuts, Eds? Targett? Lemina? Any CB? Any striker? (OUT) How about INs? Are we still in for the CB? Santos, Mina? Wingers? Ghezzal? Kostic? Any new AMC/ ST coming? Seems Forster will go out on loan to Burnley.

{Ed002's Note - It remains more or less as I explained.}

Apparently we are now interested in Moussa Marega from Porto (22 goal in 29 games last year) for about £22m.

And Newcastle/ West Brom talks over Rondon have broken down.

Regardless of whether Fulham sign Targett or not surely we have to make a strong effort to bring in a striker.

Haven't we?

We are very stupid if we let Targett go. We are crying out for another CB. Apart from Vestergaard all the other CBs just not good enough for the PL and Hughes likes to play with 3 CBs.

We also need a striker. Austin and Gabbi are good enough, but we need a target striker! Long haven't convinced. Sam is?

Another winger wouldn't hurt either. Moi clearly good enough for the PL. Armstrong looks bright! Davis and Romeu are?

I'd really love to know where Sam Gallgher stands with saints.

I think he's looked bright in the small number of minutes sparky has given him and I don't think he could do any worse than Shane Long unfortunately. He's played tough Championship football with struggling sides that have had managerial changes left, right and centre and still managed to score a handful. Albeit, hasn't scored a huge number but has had difficult cirumstances on loan to Blackburn and Birmingham who both struggled for form at the time.

I'd be very disappointed in Saints if they were to let him go because it seems like a prime oppurtunity for his chance in the squad. Although I agreed it would be a risk, but I want to see Saints go back to when we were taking chances on our homegrown players because it has paid off. I'd also like to mention whilst i'm on the subject that Targett has been absolutely fantastic in this pre season and needs to be kept in my opinion and i'm really hoping Targett, Gallagher, Sims, Reed and McQueen get their chances this season and do us proud.

That's my thoughts on some of our younger players and homegrown players, i'm not saying they should be starting just because they're from our academy, all i'm saying is that they may have something to offer.

First time poster so be nice lol.

We have to keep Targett. His stint at Fulham sparked his confidence and we saw glimpses of what he could do when Koeman temporarily switched to a back three back then. Shift Bertrand to the left of a back three or sign Gibson, let Targett and McQueen battle out the left wingback spot. Find a buyer for Long and sign a proper target man.

Agree totally with both previous replies. I'd keep all the mentioned "youngsters".

Only problem with Bertie on LCB is that he's best going wide forward and sending inch perfect crosses like the one for McQueen in Celta game. Even though he might be our best CB after Vestergaard.

Lille's RB in rumours so maybe Cedric leaving?

But we have many questionmarks. Yoshi? Bednarek? Hoedt? Stephens? Romeu? Davis? Redmond? Long? Currently good enough for the PL?

Romeu is perfectly good enough for the prem.
Redmond simply needs more fan support and the right coaching. he's 24 so has time on his side. Long needs to go and probably Davis only really on account of his age. Stephens Bednarek and Hoedt also need the fans behind them more. Yoshi can still do a decent job but wouldn't be problem if he goes. I believe generally that this transfer windows been good, at least better then last one and players in general need more belief and support instead of crap aimed at them. like to see youth used more this year.

Think we're being a bit harsh on Stephens here. There's potential there, and CB's often develop later.

It's time to just keep Gallagher and see what happens. The loan system serves a purpose, but it's time for him to sink or swim. That doesn't mean start him, it just means keep him around and give him whatever opportunities he can earn in training (Cup games, injury fill-ins, etc. ) .

3 of our centre backs are very young and all have great potential. Most CBs don’t fully develop until they are in their middle 20s.
