Reading this morning that Saints have lined up Paulo Sousa to take over if MH doesn't get a win against Manchester United this weekend. Apparently he was at the Saints vs Fulham game. Not sure how much I believe this 'rumour' but he doesn't really have the best background with English football management.

Seems favourite with most now - if this is the case I think it’s time to pack up and go home.

Even if we beat Man U, which is entirely possible as they are a shadow of their former self it would only paper over the cracks.
I’m thankful to MHs for keeping us up, although I do feel we were lucky and other teams kind of imploded. 3 million to buy his contract out surely is better that the amounts we would lose in the Championship next season and beyond. Hopefully the board will get a grip sooner than they did last season. Personally, I don’t want to be wishing we have Big Sam to guide us from relegation with a couple of games to go. Not sure who would be a good fit or who would want the job. Why would a decent manager want to come here?

You've hit the nail on the head Springhill. It's not about who Southampton FC want or who the fans want. It's all about who in their right mind wants to take over a team with players that are unfit, lacking in confidence and have forgotten how to grind out a result.

Totally agree about the possible struggle to even find a manager of the right calibre who wants to take on the Saints 'project', but essentially jobs only come up because of the previous managers failing, or being poached because of success - So isn't it almost a given that a manager coming into a club has to do an element of fire-fighting?

Agree to a point Ben but most potential managers coming in would want some assurances over money available for transfers and player recruitment and I can't see Southampton FC making decent funds available to them.
