The 5 year plan.

In an era of what is supposed to be open communication to the fanbase, the only consistent messages from the club at all levels is of the 5 year plan that has just come to an end. It has been an amazing journey from League 1, -10 to where we are now, developing our youth and cementing ourselves in the Premier League a year early.

Alan Pardew
Excellent talent spotting, particularly for the lower leagues. Rickie Lambert is the prime example of a player that brought us exactly what we needed in a much depleted squad.

Nigel Adkins
Motivation and club ethic brought enormous belief and positivity to the team. We believed we could win by playing good, positive football. Promoted 2 leagues in two seasons.

Maurico Pochettino
When we weren't quite set up for the premier league MP gave us hard work, more flair and the high pressing game which has earned us much praise. Record points total and 8th in the premier league.

This ends the near perfect 5 year plan. Cortese has left and the club has delivered to Katkarina Leibherr one of the most attractive prospects in world football. What a gift from her father and a legacy I hope she revels in.

The next 5 year plan is crucial.

Murat Yakin is a name being touted a lot now. With him leaving Basel and seeming to fit our way of playing he sounds like a good fit. Swiss efficiency, culture and excellence.

I also hope that the key players recognise that this could be a manager to take us to the next level (but nothing is certain). If we can keep this bunch together for a while we can take on the top 4.

I think MP left because he got offered a fat contract and only a short one at Southampton. He may not have been in the boards plans for the long term. With one year of his contract matching Yakin's at Basel this could have been the plan all along.

Stscientist you are dreaming Poch left because the board would not ket him keep Shaw and Lallana nor would provide new funds for player investment. These had to come from player sales which also had to meet existing debt. Not very realistic but those are the facts, or Poch would have stayed

Mcs - you really do speak just like a journo - no basis to your comments, no verified source for your 'facts', no evidence for what you say, utterly no knowledge whatsoever of the reasons behind MP's resignation, only pure supposition that you bundle together in bile which you spit out in the hope of seeing true supporters hurt by what you say.

You have no honour, you have no values, you have nothing for SFC. It is a pity you do not make better use of your energy looking for the positives rather than speiwng out negatives.

MP has left, it's in the past, finito - move on - continue the journey WHEREVER IT TAKES US!

Montecristo, the more you talk the more you sound like a skate, you clearly know nothing, just toddle off now, haven't you got some homework to be doing?

4.) 28 May 2014
Sorry block 34 got a feeling montechristosaint is a pompey supporter can't be a saint with some of the stuff he been spouting

5.) 28 May 2014
MP has left and you don't care why? You are exactly the type of fans that just roll over and have your tummy tickled let's face it saints are a selling cub again and you are happy and want to support this? You just buy a season ticket because you have nothing else to do with your lives!

6.) 28 May 2014
It's not that we don't care but when names like Yakin and Koeman are favourite to take over it's hard not to be optimistic

I keep saying it but it just happens that I ve been comunicating direct wit the sports editor of the Daily mail not Neil Ashton. I've had two signed letter confirming that according to and I quote their "excellent sources" Shaw and lallana will be off this summer. They would not however reveal who these were but I suspect it may have been Dodd and Williams. Just for you to know I have been A Saints fan for fifty years or so sttod in the rain at the Dell as a kid so don't you dare insult me. We are all entitled to our views, and we have yet to hear exactly what Saints actually plan to do with regard to player transfers. it strikes me as odd that Poch left if guarantees had been given he achieved a great deal as we all know. I can only think his mind had been made up when Cortese left and was just waiting for an opportunity to move on.

I'm a bit with mcs on this one. Even when Krueger was asked about shaw and lallana, he couldn't say he can guarantee they won't be sold. He said they are in control. In control of any ins and outs. They want to speak to a new manager b4 any transfers as well. IMO poch wanted to leave back in jan when cortese left. Maybe a bit bitter about it. But I do think some of our star players have a price. Maybe just very high prices, hence not bring able to "guarantee" they will still be here.
I do think though, any transfer money raised, a large percentage would go back into transfers

Saintsmiff trust me I don't want anyone to go for the simple reason that I think we need to get rid the selling club tag. The press won't leave us alone or the players until the club s board have gone through a transfer window without being pressured into selling players. Even Lambert is being linked with a move to Liverpool now is there anyone in our team that has NOT been linked with Liverpool, I can only think of Boruc and Fonte, I reckon Fonte is next though
