just saying that if luke shaw does leave it wouldn't be the biggest lost as matt target has just sign a new contract. but on the other hand, if we lose lallana it would be a big problem. coyr

1.) 19 Jun 2014
I feel we should hold on to shaw format least another year to develop him and hopefully he becomes worth more then if we do sell him next year then we can push target through and by then hopefully he will be a lot better and developed

2.) 19 Jun 2014
Targett is still developing and would unlikely be ready just yet - at least a season away including some first team game time.

Nice to see you on our site, Home_Fan. Never heard of Bale??

Before you comment about his position, remember he started as a LB-at Saints-and this is just what could happen with Luke, and he is more likely to get the opportunity to develop that possibility at Saints rather than Utd.-especially with Targett coming through.

I have noted the comments about Luke on the Utd. web site, and most show no knowledge of the player other than what they have seen on TV. I have yet to see one comment about what would be best for the player. IMHO a move to Utd. ahead of next season would be a serious mistake. Until LVG gets to grips with the internal politics this could be a very toxic environment for a lad of 19 and could seriously set his progress back. He does not need this and should be in no rush to take such a risk.

Most Utd. fans will think that it would enable him to buy a better car or apartment and would be surprised to hear the laughter from St.Marys in response. DYOR and you will see the reason.

In respect of Adam, I do see him leaving but probably to Spurs as I doubt LFC will pay the asking price. Unfortunately, I think he has burnt his bridges at St.Marys. Perhaps if he had not been Captain this would not be the case but I suspect if the right offer is made the Board will take account of this.

5.) 19 Jun 2014
I don't think Lallana has burnt any of his bridges at St Mary's. There seems to be no real indication of him falling out with any members of playing, coaching or administrative staff at the club.

If the paper rumours are correct about him handing in a request to leave, that doesn't mean he will. Southampton have a contract until 2018 and if you remember what Liverpool did to Suarez last season, the board can force him to stay and still expect quality performances. Also nothing seems to really confirm his handing in of a transfer request, all we know is Reed won't let him go on anything that even vaguely resembles 'the cheap'.

Frankly with Lallana I can only see a move to Liverpool or a club already in the Champions League being on the cards. I don't think he would settle for Spurs.

Of-course I have heard about Bale, But the season which took him to being sold Birmingham and then to Real Madrid, he wasn't a LB. he was an Attacking LW who scored goals for fun.

Luke Shaw might become one, But then its another gamble to play him there.

Nothing wrong with the player. But There is a limit for a LB value. Tell me a LB who was sold at 30 mill for any club?

If someone believes, Spurs would offer that kinda money then I am sorry.
Daniel levy has just once in his lifetime bought a player above 20 mill and that's Soldado, Who was bigger and better at Valencia than Lallana.
He might offer half the amount and 2-3 flopped players on loan.

Enjoy the match tonight Home_Fan, you have obviously started on the beer early, in readiness. "Birmingham"??

For an 18 year old, 19 next month, you pay for potential over the next 14 years. If you don't see the potential, you don't pay £30m, if you do, you pay up. Simples.

Anyway, can't see that it is too much of a concern to a Liverpool supporter-perhaps you should consider whether Sterling would be valued at similar? You would probably think so but argue that he is not a LB. Well, IMO that is not relevant, as LBs have a totally different role in the modern game compared to some years ago and will be valued accordingly.

Perhaps we can agree on Rickie coming on and scoring the winning goal in the dying minutes?

9.) 19 Jun 2014
I think he played for spurs not Birmingham?

10.) 19 Jun 2014
^ bale was pretty poor during his first season and spurs wanted to get rid of him, Birmingham offered something like 3.5 mil for him. Spurs decided to keep him, moved him forward and the rest is history. I think that's what home fan was getting at

11.) 19 Jun 2014
Fabio coentrão went to real madrid for 30 million in 2011!

Whether Spurs succeed in signing Adam, I don't know and I hope they don't but I am confident they will try hard to do so.

MP will have a hard job to get the Spurs squad to accept his training methods and I can see he would welcome Adam within the squad supporting his methods, and maybe as Captain, influencing the rest of the squad to buy in.

But then again, perhaps RK will discuss matters with Adam and the whole issue will cease to be an issue! It's going to be an interesting summer.

13.) 20 Jun 2014
To be honest I personally think that Adam won't leave and I think Koeman will persuade him to stay. As in a interview with BBC Sport Adam Lallana said in the interview that he is looking forward to getting back and speaking to the new manager.
As for Luke Shaw I would personally take 30 million for him any day as although he is a great talent we could easily just bring in another quality left back and some other talent in other positions. What are your thoughts?

14.) 20 Jun 2014
20 Jun 2014 12:41:13
Quite understand your thinking Dylan, but I don't think a move would be right for Luke. He is not the finished article yet and a wrong move could seriously et his development back-Bale certainly had a season after leaving Saints where he lost his way. A move to Utd. is not right for him IMO until they are rebuilt.

Fabio conetrao was bought at lesst than 25 mill by Real Madrid. They would defo buy shaw at 30 or even higher.

SaintSaintSaint

Spot on. that's exactly what I meant, He was offerd to Alex Mcleash then manager at Birmingham for 3.5 mill as he was a poor LB, But he had pace in abundance. Moved to LW and then the rest is history.

I had beers, So I could sleep well yesterday afte that shocking display.
But I don't come here drunk.

17.) 20 Jun 2014
The only time levy has spent 20 million?? Lamela springs to mind. Spurs got lucky with bale but as st Martin has said it's about development. Had bale of stayed a season or two longer he may have hit the ground running. As for shaw I think 30 million with MT coming through is a great price of business.

As for lallana I have heard from within that he has pushed hard for a move and for me a little too hard.

Gregg come on you have absolutely no evidence for what you say Lallana has not been quoted as asking for a transfer. On the other hand there is a BBC interview in which he states very plainly that he is looking forward to meeting the new manager, no hint of unhappiness whatever. The truth has probably more to do with a perceived intention from Kl that she intended the club to live within its means, and of course at this point its not tenable and was seen to be weakness on the part of the club, hence the frenzied speculation about our players.

19.) 21 Jun 2014
This is a rumour site and not a provide evidence site. This info has come from the same person that told be Adkins would be gone within 6 weeks and went a month later, the same person that told me koeman would join when I placed a bet the day after poch went, the same person that told me moyes had an interview and the same person that told me about the clubs vision all of which is spot on. Lallana has said a lot of things. At no point has he said he doesn't want a move.

20.) 23 Jun 2014
To be fair how do you expect him to provide evidence? A selfie with his source on the dodgy sitings page?
