To speak my mind how long has this sort of thing gone on. when we were in the Lowe era we sold our best assest and bought cheap. much later down the road we had q better team it came to a point were I was confident we would get points out of games most weeks. but then we again sold our stars and we have replaced cheaply again and there was no forcing of the issue. Our penny pinching board didn't keep there word on bonuses refused to promise poch the team he was doing so well with wouldn't be torn apart beneath him so he left and the players also. and I do not blame them one bit. poch and players that is not our full of s**t board and before people say we still kept schniederlin the only reason that is the case is because the 25mil wanted wasn't offered or he to would be waving bye. And wots more I could see cortese probably league one to champ to prem and who was bought in. Then when cortese hard work of keeping players and keeping things professional got us to the prem safety. fatty pig face all of a sudden wanted to be more envoled and why should cortese step aside when we were down in the dirt he turned us around with Marcus blessing and made us not have to sell and give the players the impetus to go and play like they did

Firstly HOW do you know all this - or is it speculation & rumour? Secondly IF we do better than last season, you'll look a bit silly. And lastly what brand of angry pills were you on when you typed this?

2.) 28 Aug 2014
100% spot on Southampton87 the board are full of j**p I don't trust em as far as I could throw em. cortese and Poch probably would have stayed on if he and the players got the bonuses they were promised. It is gutting thinking back how fresh and exiting we were little miss greedy piggy and her cronies can h***ing do one as far as I am concerned. Remember when we played in red and we were quality?

I think all the players we have signed this summer are Internationals, but we are replacing "cheaply"??LOL

The players who left have left for money (yes, Morgan would have enjoyed £100k/wk I'm sure) that Saints can not afford to pay, and KL has a limit to how much money she will invest (she has already invested a whole lot, so where is the penny pinching?) Equally, new FFP regulations would not allow her to keep spending silly amounts of money.

If you don't understand the financial realities of running a football club you don't have to go far to find a club that would suit you a whole lot better.

I can normally appreciate the viewpoint of other Saints supporters but that tirade is delusional.

4.) 28 Aug 2014
If we finish in the top ten and do anything in the cups then we have had a better year because we have made ourselves financially stable aswell. Our players where overpaid for and nobody outside of the top six could have turned down that sort of money for them

Mikeysfc, please can you try to stop being so positive all the time, its doing my head in :-)

7.) 28 Aug 2014
Go back to transfer for an example of penny pinching theo Walcott sold who replaced
Ox who replaced him
G bale who replaced him
D loveren who replaced
Adam lallana supposed to be tadic
Ricky lambert for pelle
That'd just top of head and in truth to act as though that ain't the case delusions
That is penny pinching

does leggdad really think saints will finish higher than last season
not going to happen
krueger
krueger stated all transfer income would be reinvested in the team
sorry not true
also no big name player will join saints reed under orders not to spend to much as kl wants to stay a rich girl

please do not blame ffl that is a poor excuse
forestsaint

9.) 28 Aug 2014
And before u say Lowe was in charge when we sold Walcott. And bale. My point. Exactly
Nothing is different. But our owners can hide behind ffp

10.) 28 Aug 2014
Sholing shadow I just couldn't hold in my positivity any longer my post were positive as thy come a year ago :-)

Saints income, outside of TV money, is puny in contrast to the clubs who earn much of their income through marketing. (What was Utd. recent deal with Adidas (I think), around £1billion?)
FFP regulations kill Saints whilst having a much smaller impact on the larger clubs. Cortese fought hard to prevent these regulations coming to fruition but was not supported. He could see that small clubs with a wealthy owner would be hugely penalised, as such income could not be made up from their donations.
No one is hiding behind FFP. It is a reality and you can rant as much as you like about KL but just remember the reported £50m
spent on Staplewood. Where did that come from? OMG it is penny pinching again.
I would suggest it may be better to remove your IQ from your handle, because when you start talking about past players who were sold to enable the club to continue to exist and moan about it as penny pinching you insult the majority of supporters who suffered through that period but at least took the trouble to try and understand where the club was financially.
There has been several very good summaries by the Eds. on here about FFP. You do really need to get acquainted with the real world.

12.) 28 Aug 2014
Look I would. Love nothing more than to think good of the team I was born to support but the good that's been done over the five years is destroyed.
And No it has nothing to do with schniederlin wanting 100k a week. More to do with the board wanting 25 mil not 10 and the rest later. If he does well so u carry on thinking how u are because last time we had a lieing board was under Lowe and he got us relegation and wots more is. I can remember clearly that Lowe give a club statement saying when we sold Walcott thankfully we get relegated it would help us return lol to the prem all I remember is he bounced of and his care homes did well lol

13.) 28 Aug 2014
Leggdad, angry pills, love it, absolute gold.

14.) 29 Aug 2014
Cortese put the order for staplewood not Kathryn and Marcus left cortese in charge cortese wanted a top team Kathryn see's staplewood as a conveyor belt for future sale's. And didn't won't to invest wot was needed for cortese to achieve wot he was aiming.
Selling all you're top players but one
Having own brand team wear
And investing in staplewood spells out wot Kathryns direction is

15.) 29 Aug 2014
Southampton 87, "the good that's been done over the five years is destroyed" haha is that a joke? I don't know why all these angry and dramatic posts have suddenly come from, we've played 2 matches, played well in one and bad in the other, we all know it will take time for this new team to gel, but I'm still confident of a mid table area sort of finish, where we can then push on using the rest of the money from this window onto bigger and better things, I think some the insulting comments about KL are pretty shocking and completely uncalled for, or are you forgetting who has chosen to invest in the club to get us to where we are today since Marcus sadly passed, she spent £50m on a brand new state of the art training center for crying out loud and all you can do is insult her. Pretty shameful really, how would you react if someone was promising large amounts of your money to people without telling you? Which is why Cortese had to go. If he hadn't made promises we couldn't keep then maybe we would still have some of these players but at the end of the day I think the main reason for some was champions league football and a lot would have left anyway, some of the posts are ridiculous.

I am getting a bit sick of the sheer conjecture thrown out by some Saints fans who think they understand the world of finance ffs. First point the training ground cost £30m not 50.Second, the comments re spending on players this summer are broadly correct KL has pocketed 90 million while current spending on incoming players has been financed by last seasons tv money. The Board virtually gave away shirt sponsorship to assist a local firm they felt they could afford it. And finally, this talk about KL investing. She has recovered more than has been invested by her in player sales. She according to Krueger , calls it living within the club s means.Wait until you see next years accounts I think you will find I am right because if I am not the club will get a huge tax bill.

17.) 29 Aug 2014
St Sam if it wasn't for cortese we would not have staplewood or would we be in the prem cortese made these things happen when Marcus not Kathryn left cortese in charge nothing but bad has happened since cortese left and she come In. MARKUS SAVED us because cortese brought it to the man that had the money and an interest st marcus. I do wonder what would have happened if Marcus was still at the helm. But as I say wot good has came from Kathryn, kruger and co

18.) 29 Aug 2014
If cortese left because he offered bonuses who and what account would pay?
I would have thought it would have came from the club account. and I believe I read that marcus left a will with monies left to the club and the five year plan witch cortese got left in charge kL came sniffing around when we got to the prem and realised that cortese was imputing all revenue and this part of her business was not earing her money so forced cortese out

19.) 29 Aug 2014
29 Aug 2014 16:39:47
cortese might not be to everybodys liking
but he got us to the premier league
kl krueger reed
might just be taking us back to the championship the way things are going
forestsain t

20.) 29 Aug 2014
First point staplewood came in at over 50m! it was supposed to be 30m yes but it wasnt.

21.) 29 Aug 2014
The sooner people realise all she cares about is money the better. time and time again they have lied. this current board have not done one single thing that makes me think in a positive manner. lost count of the negative ones. they have destroyed the buzz around the club and it will transpire to the pitch.

22.) 29 Aug 2014
Southampton87 he may have made it happen but who paid for it? It wasn't him was it? KL owns the club so hence the "club account" is hers and it would be her money paying the players, Cortese can't just throw money around that isn't his and isn't sustainable. Without her finance we would not be here, as regard to them lying to us, I wouldn't say that is the case as when he said no one is for sale we meant it as we didn't want to sell anyone but when it's the players that want to leave and end up forcing the deal there's not a lot we can do except get as much money as we can for it, the only one we can respect is Rickie's, I agree a lot of the summer has not been handled very well by the new board as they should've identified that Pochettino was going to leave earlier and had Koeman as his replacement already lined up and the same with particular players such as Lallana, Shaw and Ricky, if we had quality replacements in place then maybe Lovren and Chambers would've stayed as the team would have still looked good and ambitious for next season, that is my main criticism of them this season, but they were right to draw the line at Shneiderlin and J Rod (although it should've been drawn earlier) as losing 7 first team players would've killed us, but now we have 7 in with another possible 2 coming by the end of the week, which could've taken our summer spending to over £50m and maybe approaching the £60m mark if the last to are ambitious signings. I don't understand why everyone is suddenly so angry, I'd understand if we were destroyed by Liverpool and lost to WBA and were bottam of the table and knocked out of the cup, it's really not that bad and as regards to since Katarina has been more involved only bad things has happened, we still finished 8th while she was more involved and so far we haven't had much of chance to show much good things as we have only played 3 games, I agree a marque signing would be nice, but we'll see

23.) 29 Aug 2014
And forestsaint do you serriously thing we'll be relegated? I really can't see it

24.) 29 Aug 2014
29 Aug 2014 20:36:29
i said might
but I don't think saints will finish in the top half of the table
with the new players still need time to gel
forestsaint

25.) 29 Aug 2014
St Sam wot u are smoking must be good poch would not have left had he been garenteed his team was not going to be sold. KL would not have put the plans in for or staplewood if cortese was not there and she was. money was left in a will to cortese to control and he made it happen. All kL see's now is every year we will be able to sell new up and coming players every year well that is her plan

26.) 29 Aug 2014
Ok fair enough, I agree we will be around mid table sort of area
