I hear we have been linked with Quintero. I would love a creative attacking mid to play behind Pelle. We need someone who can create (to take weight off Tadic's shoulders) and to score (to take weight off Pelle's shoulders). however we need someone who can defend and has good stamina, which Quintero hasn't really got as far as I know. Earlier in the season we played Tadic behind Pelle with two attacking wingers. On paper we looked strong, but we couldn't defend up to standard and struggled to keep possession.

We need that Adam Lallana type player to play there. and while I am really happy with Ward-Prowse at the moment, I feel a short term upgrade in that position would help keep us in a champions league position come the end of the season.

Some players whose play style may suit us include:

Koke
Honda
Barkley
Sigurdsson

Not all of those are realistic but in my opinion we could do with a player like that.

Thoughts?

I think lots of teams esp at the top of the prem suffer from squads that are too big and so players don't get enough real match time to be switched on when 3pm comes around.
Just buying in loads of new players means the guys working hard for the squad get demoralised.
Sometimes we will get thin but that's what the U21s are for.
OK if a player has a serious injury then a replacement may be needed - but the formula is working now so i would not mess with it for now.
The current squad has taken points off the top teams and proven themselves - let it run its course.

I personally think Ward-Prowse has been an influential part of our season. I think we really missed him when he was out and provides an extra control on passing into key areas of the Pitch providing dangerous balls into the box from set pieces.

I'd like to see more of the attacking mids coming up through the academy, myself. The likes of Hesketh, McQueen, and (a bit younger) Sims.
