A game of two halves and the sooner that the second half is forgotten about the better. Bad luck with the injuries to Davis and Cedric seemed to be so costly as our structure completely fell apart when they went off. We should of matched them as a 4-4-2 from that point on as Mane and Tadic were continuously caught bombing forward and that left massive gaps on the wings for Leicester to utilise.

Give credit where it's due, Leicester have found a knack at breaking teams apart this season, so it's not just us! That's why it isn't the worse result, we keep our unbeaten run going into the Liverpool game.

I'm sorry but Ronald Koeman has to take the blame for that today .
I didn't see an injury to Steven Davis and cannot warrant taking him off when we were obviously under the cosh from a very spirited Foxes side. They bought on two very good players in Mahrez and Dyer and we struggled. Why then take off a good MF player in Davis and stick on an untested in PL terms Jordy Classie ( who looked completely out of his depth ) .
Also, got to say it again but Yoshida is not a right back. I know Soares had the head knock but surely a dizzy Soares is better than a dodgey Yoshida.
Any way say what you like but our second half performance was awful and my daughters U 11 side would have torn us apart.

Murdered by a team that wanted to win against a side that thought after going 2 - 0 up that they could see it out . Mane and Pelle hardly had a kick due to Leicester not letting them . Credit where it is due, they were the best team we have played this season so far and we looked very poor in the second half. What happened there! Got a feeling RK will be slinging a few hair dryers. Classie may be a good player but do you think that it was a mistake to bring him on when we were really struggling? To me Romeu would have been the answer but also after Wanyama got booked in the first half the game changed . We were two up but not playing well, what's happened in 2 weeks? Crazy game football at this level .

Cedric's head injury was just above the eye and the swelling meant it was affecting his vision, it was inevitable we were going to bring him off at some point. As for Davis he might of picked up a knock in the first half, he went off the pitch but did seem okay afterwards. Clearly Koeman thought neither were worth risking any further though. But whether or not we think their substitutions were warranted, the fact was we didn't adapt to the situation. We stood still and allowed the pressure to be heaped on until we conceded.

I was just as angry about it as most supporters to see us collapse like that, but at the end of the day it's more representative of how well Leicester are playing right now. They did the exact same at Stoke, did the full turnaround at home to Villa, as well as pick up late draws with Bournemouth and Tottenham. In that respect we are no worse off than the majority of sides they've come up against this season.

Leicester were hungrier, fitter, faster. I'm sorry to say that they wanted it more than Saints. All three of Koeman's substitutions made the side weaker.

This was worse than the Man United defeat. At least in the second half of that game they outclassed us. Leicester just out-desired us. That's criminal, and the lack of fight and leaders on the pitch when the tide turned was pathetic. They all went missing.

Good luck for the trip to Anfield to play Klopp's Liverpool next week. If they couldn't cope with Leicester's intensity, they're going to get absolutely steamrollered (unless he seriously injuries another couple of players in training) .

Completely agree Qwertyell, but I do think Koeman's hands were tied when it came to the substitutions. Injury concerns with the first two, then the Tadic for Jay Rod change was done merely in hope of a counter attacking opportunity as we know he offers nothing defensively. Lots of supporters have said why didn't he bring on Romeu, the obvious answer is he'd be suspended against Liverpool if he picked up a booking, as is his trend. Keep him for the bigger game next weekend.

Hopefully we get a response from the team at Liverpool, we know we are more than capable after besting Chelsea and Swansea.

Having watched the extended highlights of yesterday's game and their goals they were both down to Van Dyck . He should have at least got a tackle in on Dyer for the first and Vardy left him for dead for the second, he has to get himself in front of the player and read the game better . I am sure he will improve but at the moment he is still learning to be a centre half and not get forward so much . I still think Romeu should have come on instead of Clasie, I am far from convinced Clasie is going to be what we were expecting him to be . Really poor decision by Ronald to bring him on .

{Ed001's Note - I am glad I am not the only person that thought it was VVD at fault! I know Ed007 raves about him, but I just don't see it at all. Physically impressive, but he is far too laid back and drops off too far. He should be more imposing with his physique, but he just doesn't bully forwards at all.}

Van Dijk has had a couple of eye-catchingly good games (Chelsea, Swansea) and a couple of noticeably poor games (United, Leicester) .

I wouldn't have thought wild inconsistency is something a team is looking for in their centre backs, but there you go.

He didn't cover himself in glory on either goal - giving the ball away casually and then getting easily beaten by Dyer for the first goal, and then completely losing Vardy's run for the second - but other players failed in their jobs too.

For the first goal, Vardy was the only player Dyer could hit in the box, and yet Fonte and Clasie were both marking thin air.

On the second goal, Vardy would've been offside if Yoshida had held the line. But expecting Yoshida to make it through even half a game without contributing to an opposition goal is probably a bit optimistic.

So, yes, Van Dijk didn't have much of a game and has plenty to prove, but he wasn't alone in underperforming. What happened to the midfield once Davis went off? They neither protected the defence, won possession, or supplied the attack.

Really poor day at the office for Saints. Deflated all of the feel-good factor from the Chelsea win.

Taking off Davis seemed strange to me. I thought he was hurt as he banged his fist on the ground after the tackle in the first half - but seemed fine, so I was surprised he was taken off. It seemed that RK just wanted to bring on his £8m Spider replacement - who looked thoroughly out of his depth. What Virgil was trying to do to Dyer when the only thing he could do was cross the ball was bewildering and the second half somehow reminded me of L1 - naively letting Leicester come on to us again and again and again. At least we didn't have Danny Higginbotham score an own goal 4 minutes in to added on time!
