All the talk about owners, money and ambition is ridiculous really. The only thing different now to any other time is the Southampton way. A couple of years ago the high intensity high pressing game was mastered by Southampton, which with schneiderlin and wanyama covering the defence covered the fact that actually we weren't amazing at defending. Lovren, clyne, Shaw all been exposed as not the greatest defenders and now that other clubs are playing similar game style we have come undone. Fonte is not the best defender in the world but when well protected looked good Bertrand and van dijk I think will be fine but the players we have bought in either aren't good enough or play a totally different game. Tadic is great when he can be bothered, mane is great when he's getting lucky bounces of his shins, pelle is great for 2 months and so on. When the chips are down these players go missing fact. As I've said before the reason we are more pissed than ever well me certainly is because if we lost 1-0 to Norwich but in the team was some academy talent, someone showing a bit of grit and desire that rubs off on other players. something to excite the fans we would feel positive and upbeatas it is our team looks like Moody, sulking spoilt brats who didn't get what they wanted from Santa.

Yeah co JWP has been unbelievable for us same as targett and reed I mean every time the play the set the world alight
Only real difference is we will not have a prob keeping these players .
In regards to shaw, chambers they had class that was seen from day one
How many times in two seasons has JWP scored and set up you can count with one hand
Since my first ever game I when't in 87 we have been nothing with acception to starchan era and brief hoddle era
But relegation fodder year in and year out.
And I was have a chat with a friend from Bristol and I said we need relegation to ever be a good challenging team
Anyway a season later we were relegated
Down hill from there and cortese bought Marcus to the table and almost instently bought Lambo. fonte. hammond, prado, chaplow, Richardson, the list goes on then pardew got sack Adkins came in and made that team with a few additions along the way become a premiership team,
Adkins got the players to sit deep soak up pressure and we got crushed the first few months then Adkins got the sack poch came in and Ramirez, and wanyama were bought and osvaldo then end of season cortese was gone poch was gone lambert gone shaw gone chambers gone lovren gone luckily jrod was crocked or he woulda been gone osvaldo gone, the schniederlin gone then Clyne gone
Then keoman came in with the belief wot was sold will be put back into the team . never happend
And this talk of 60mil debt
Every team in the prem is in debt
Go on google research how much a team finish top half of the prem receive through league position money TV money gate revenue then player sales
You will start to relise why everyone sold out like they did
And why most fans ain't happy
Then there is this talk of how cortese was doing a bad job getting debt
But kath still wanted him to stay why is this
And why do u think Mitchell left becuase our club was talking rubbish about a black box lol
The black box must of been Mitchell becuase all targets were Tottenham and Liverpool targets to
Stoke have a amasing team becuase they held it together
Not sold out
It all comes down to Marcus and cortese was interested
But Marcus passed and the duagther don't wot the club or has no interest in football matters.

hi I agree with both of you to some degree,
listen to Alan Shearer when he says you can't carry on with your present transfer policy of selling your top players and replacing with players who might be good in sub standard European leagues, Dusan Tadic, Cedric Soares, Juanami, Cuco Martina, Pelle, all in my opinion not good enough to replace Ricky Lambert, Nathaniel clyne, Adam Lallana, Chambers, Spider, the only ones who have been on a par with the players who were sold are Ryan Birtrand and Virgil Van Dyke, and possibly Shane Long, where is all the millions gone that Poch and Ronald Kooman were told would be available to buy the same caliber players, I think we all know the answer to that question, Kooman can see the writing on the wall that's why he's looking dejected and disillusioned we had a great chairman in ML who loved football and Southampton FC. Unfortunately his daughter hasn't got the same commitment, and with the aid of Krugar and Reed sold for top price and bought cheap i'm astounded that she's still the owner as most of the talent has been sold, Maybe she;s waiting for wanyama and Mane to be sold and put more money into her purse then sell the club.

I have also said time and time again that lallana, chambers, Shaw schneiderlin are as good as they are because they learnt the trade the hard way. Played through the leagues together in the same team, made the mistakes together learnt and grew together. I agree that they can't go on selling players and also don't think targett, ward prowse have done enough. Reed genuinely looked a real gem, did nothing wrong and he should be playing. Do you think the previous academy players would be the players they are by not playing? Or by being out on loan to 5 different clubs, never settling and feeling at home.

Yh I hear yh
But the shaw chambers lallana and co were already to a standard that they stood out as key youth on there very first games or games at the full teams level
Sorry to say but apart from reed as u have said
We haven't got nowhere near that level
McCarthy for instance head millions of great things for him
But he is on loan and not standing out .
Then there is the fact of Stephens coming back early from loan becuase he isn't getting played .
There is a reason and again it'd becuase he isn't that good and to think boulder dash caulker is going and were going to replace him with Stephens . why ain't no better probably a down grade.
Like dis said listen to shearer becuase he was one of the genuine fans of wot had be achieved by Marcus and cortese.

All you lot do is moan about saints. We had the best ever finish in the league last season. Sold 2 players and now because we are on a bad run everyone is rubbish.

We are on a bad run because if you take two top players out of your side and replace them with mediocre you end up with an average squad which if under performing creates a confidence problem . We are missing forward power in bucket loads and lack lustre midfield that look ok on the ball but have no invention . Since Pelle has been out we have had to change our style to suit the inclusion of Long which screws the whole style we have learned in training . We have to do this as we apparently we have no one else to bring in, we must be the only club in the PL operating with one centre forward which seems odd considering we are supposed to have one of the best academies in Europe and any of those players should be worth a go considering our current circumstances . We have quite a few players out on loan who will probably never play for the first team, so sell them and buy some quality before it is too late . We won't get relegated but we MIGHT and it is not worth taking the risk, the board are playing with fire . No need to panic yet but we don't want to get to the point of no return, time to act.
