so I've just seen an argument about KL selling up. Well I can see both points, she is running it like a business which is great in some ways but in others not so much. I mean I think I read somewhere that we pay something like 3rd or 4th lowest wages in the league (not sure if true) we didn't spend any money last summer but the money we made from sales, now that wasn't a bad amount of money but trouble is you can't expect to sell your best players year in year out for top money and progress to the next level. If your lucky you won't get relegated. Now we aren't as rich as everyone thinks, IMO she needs to sell the club, yes we owe her and her father a lot but because I don't believe she's fit to take us to the next level ML dream was top six, her dream isn't that not from what I can see anyway. We need some owner who runs the club like Cortesse did, now a lot of people will disagree but with Cortesse we had someone who made the players know their place and he wasn't afraid to get the job done. Yes we got in a debt but what clubs aren't in debt these days hey. So yeah that is my opinion, is like to know what others think.

Yes but we need to know if the current set of players can keep us in the PL.

Now that Forster is back we may have more confidence at the back but I still believe we need an attacker and midfielder to secure safety.

No one will want to buy us if we are relegated and RK has gone. It's not in her interest to let the SFC fail, especially in a business sense.

How any Saints fan can promote risking the clubs future on pushing a dream is beyond me.

Were you still in nappies when Marcus rescued the club? We were within 24 hrs of being liquidated!

It may not quite be as exciting, but operating the way we do does secure the clubs future. Besides, recently we have seen some of our summer window signings coming good. Classie looked like a top class player last night. Martina, Cedrik and Romeu have all been doing well, and for once it looks like we might actually have a decent squad.

Lets wait and see how we get on before we start screaming about getting rid of Katharina. After all, there's an old saying. Be careful what you wish for as it might come true. Hell we could end up with someone like Woopert, or some of those so called owners that they had down the road.

Exactly st Chris! I'd rather have slow, sustained growth, with the odd dodgy season here and there but end up with a club to support and take kids/ grandkids to watch in 50 years time, when I'm in my 70's than to sit and tell them stories about the history of Southampton how the club went into massive debt to maybe, almost win the league once and then go bang.

I would rather be competertive in the championship trying to win a trophy
Than sit bang middle of the prem getting booted out of the cups constantly and being out spent by little old Bournemouth.

So your pointing and using the same argument as everyone else, that they saved us? I get your point and I understand it, but you can not run a club the way we are at the moment, by that I mean season on season selling your best players. It will happen again this summer. Wanyama will go (not bothered) and so will mane, now let's look at who we have sold over the last few years. Lallana, Shaw, Lovren, Morgan, Lambert, Clyne, Chambers and I've probably forgotten some others tbh and wanyama and mane will probably leave as well! That is not sustainable! I think the ones over reacting to what I said are the ones who forget KL didn't save the club, Markus did! she owes us nothing I don't believe she will spend the money this summer either, I'm not getting mad because we aren't in the champions league! I'm not mad at all, I'm just saying the club talks the good talk about ambition and gets the fans excited about what the future holds but we need to start holding on to players to progress and earn thropies or get back into Europe and the club have said that's what they want so they are going the wrong way about it if that's what they want. That is my point.

And no it's not going to change now debts are settled
Just watch summer window no change in how it will work.

At Christopher
Just how u speak about football proves u were in nappies when Markus saved us and was buying kaths house and sports cars for here on her 20th bday
You just speak in a business manor about sports and clubs people pay a big about of there wages on tickets and shirts to see entertaining competitive team and football none of witch will be sustained under kaths business model .

We are copying wot rupert did lol
Sell best talent
But unfinished or finished players.
Got relegated
Exactly wot will happen if we carry on
I can even remember rupert saying "we ain't going to spend the money from players just incase we go down
Funny we when't down rupert ran.

All this about not selling our best players, you have to see that it is not always an option for the club. If you know a player wants out and wants to go to a “bigger” club then what’s the sense in letting a players contract run down and then let him leave for nothing when 12 months earlier we could have had £15 million + for him and already have a replacement in. I hate to see our best players leave but I honestly think we have replaced well and I’m sure if the likes of Wanyama and Mane leave then we will do it again. It may not sound sustainable but it just may actually be sensible. Jus sayin……
3-1 against WBA tomorrow, Davis to bag the first, COYR!

I have been saying that in my opinion with the current board running this football club, we are very unlikely to finish in the top eight of the premier league again.
This board seems to think that you can sell your best players buy a cheaper replacement make a profit, and maintain the clubs reputation and standing in the toughest league in world football. you only have to look at the majority of football clubs throughout the world and that's not including the largest clubs in their various country's leagues to see that they don't make a profit, most if not all run with a deficit. I'm not saying this club spend more than the club can afford but you can run with a small deficit each year, what's the point of a billionaire owner buying a football club and not be prepared to fund it occasionally, if KL is not prepared to do that she should sell the club to someone who loves football and is prepared to support the club with money now and again, the money we have taken in with the sky money, transfers and league finishing position must be millions, then when the close season arrives you get Mr Kregeur, Mr Reed saying were marching on to the next level, so we all buy are season tickets again, well we have marched on to the next level unfortunately its downward. Sorry to be so pessimistic but i'm trully fed up with all the rubbish this board comes out with and by the looks of it so is MR Kooman.

I'll never know why you all equate price with ability

We sold Lovren for 20 million. We brought van Dijk for 13 million and had we brought Alderweireld it would have been 11.5 mil - would either of those be a 'downgrade'?

We paid 5 million for Romeu and 12.5 for Wanyama, yet on current form who would you rather have in the team?

We paid 12 million for Long and 10.5 for Mane, yet whose been the better since arriving?

The money paid for transfers mean absolutely nothing, it's dependant on a thousand different factors (Nationality, years left on a contract, how much that player is worth to the selling/ buying club etc) and in no way should you base an opinion on who is a better player on how much they've cost.

Mark my words mane off end of season wanyama off end of season pelle off end of the season
That's 3 first team players last season 2 first team and season before 5 that's 10 first team players in three seasons every season has been basically been putting together a new team and again next season is already lookin bake
Instead of keeping our group and adding we will sell and replace.

If we sell, and replace with better, that's called progress. If we don't sell and keep those three players will they be better next season? One might be, two probably not. So we make no progress in two positions and you expect the team to do better next season? Obviously not a Vulcan!

Dejan then Toby now Virgil, do you see that as a problem?
