In 2014, around Christmas time, we were 4th I believe. Instead of spending that £40 million surplus from the previous summer's player sales and kicking on for Champions League qualification, we pocketed it, along with the TV money, season ticket money, merchandise, etc.

The message this sent to Koeman and the players was simple, we are a selling club. We are not interested in actually establishing the club as a top six club. No, we would rather feed the fans nonsense about 'The Southampton Way', giving them some extra pride so they won't kick up too much of a stink over the clear lack of parity in amounts between income from players sold and expenditure for players purchased.

The more sluggish thinkers among our fanbase went along with it, we had struck gold twice with Poch and Ron, everything will work out, right? Wrong! Anyone who voiced their concerns was summarily charged with not being a fan, or worst still a skate. Happy clappers don't have the ambition of other fans, they are content with what they have. They undervalue the club's potential and snipe at anyone who has more ambition or a greater estimation of the club's potential.

Instead of building on the fact that we had two great managers, each time we clearly demonstrated that the club's 'we have a vision rap' was empty rhetoric. Managers and players realised that and bounced, rightfully so.

Fans who saw this coming do have a right to be angry, but those of you who were blinded by the guff, unfortunately, have nothing to complain about. You enabled the hierarchy of the club to do this, you are partly to blame.

Those sort of fans think they are doing well for the club but they are actually a big part of the problem.

Sounds like you need to introduce a half full glass into your life and also stop thinking we're a big club.

You need to stop acting like the thought and speech police
Think for and about yourself
Instead of reading what mlt says and copying
By they way the same mlt that new pedos where around the club same time he was and said nothing
Same mlt that cries when he don't get free tickets
And this is the mental state u copy from.

Also where was his words when Lowe was doing so bad!
No existent
Any way it's clear who you copied

Leave saint Matt alone, pick on someone your own size.

{Ed001's Note - surely he has a point? You have to be able to criticise people, we are all human and make mistakes, so why should anyone, no matter how well they kicked a ball, be immune to criticism?}

Le god didn't like having to pay for tickets lol even though he is a multi millionaire speaks volumes. Don't get me wrong he was a great player for saints and always has are back. arguably didn't move on to a bigger club because he didn't want to train hard . But don't take his word for golden just because he is a Saints legend.

Sad sad people, Did he not do enough to get free tickets for life, if it wasn't for SAINT MATT who knows where our club would be, He never buggered of for more money he stayed and got us out the rubbish year after year.

Just because we have similar opinions on the way things are going it doesn't mean I copy things. If I was a sheep I'd be bleating the crap you and all the other bed wetters write. Luckily my life has tought me not to be so pessimistic about things especially Southampton football club. Seriously though you are entitled to your opinions but try and look on the other side of the coin before dooming us to relegation and receivership, it's actually quite a nice place up here.
Ps the NHS helpline number is 111 ( for after the Sunderland game) 👍🏼.
