I'd like us to hire a tried/ tested International Manager for the Saints post. As we are now a club departmentalized, and the managers not responsible for signing players etc. I think an excellent tactician, man-manager and motivator would be a great fit for us! - I'm think Chris Coleman, or possibly Jurgen Klinsmann?

That's an interesting idea, but international football is very different from club football, Klinsmann for example was fired at Bayern after one season and Philip Lahm said that players often set up the strategy before the game, due to his lack of tactical knowledge.

This was a long time ago when he was just starting as a coach, but he's been criticised heavily since. Jimmy Conrad (former US national team player said that he lacked style, rotated the players far too often (he dropped Oliver Kahn for Jens Lehmann with Germany) and is known for blaming his players, directly, in press conferences.
I believe that his successes have come from the talent at his disposal, Lahm and Donovan led his teams; not him.

I do not know as much about Coleman but I do not feel, having watched Wales at the Euros, that he is really what Southampton are in need of.

I like the look of Marcelo Gallardo of River Plate in Argentina.
