Virgil Van Dyke should consider that he was more than happy to become Team Captain, receive the highest pay ever for a saints player Circa £70k a week and that the Saints fans on average probably earn £30-45k a year.
If I was Katerina Liebherr with her wealth, I would force him to go train with the U18s until he accepts that we are not going to capitulate. Its time to make a stand because we have had it before with Lovren, Lallana and if we accept that "Player Power" rules this time. there will be a next time> If we stand steadfast, maybe they will see the Saints Board in a different light.
There has to be a case with the FA, there has to be a stop to having an open season when the season starts. how can they allow the transfer gate to close on August 30th . if we start the season on 11th. transfers should stop a full week before.
The bigger clubs benefit because they have large squads, we on the other hand and maybe 15 other teams cannot prepare.
Pellagrino has said his words fantastically in my opinion, he is right to take VVD away from the 1st Team and I trust the Board to grasp the nettle, its not easy I know.
We will get over the Tosser wanting to leave. just like Lovren will throw his teddies out of the pram because his ass will warm the bench.
Come on Reds . let's sort it out, wipe our chins and march on. :-) )

So miss out on £60 million and a top player on principle and end up fighting to survive in the PL. The crazy transfer money we would get for him is just what the famous black box could do with.

Just a quick one Pete but I don't think the average fan of SFC earn between £30 - 45 k a year. I would say £15 - 25 k at a push. Football used to be for the working man after 6 days down the pit or in a factory. Not any more just a money grabbing industry which most can't afford to be involved in . Good TV agreed and wonderful players but thousands of low paid workers can't afford to go or watch it on SKY/ BT because they simply do not have enough money. Sad, I get your point though Pete and it wasn't a personal dig at you. Whatever happened to sport for all.

Chris - I know exactly what you are saying, but when you look at averages there are Saints supporters that earn £15k and those that earn £100k plus.
Born in Sholing, Weston Park Boss School and a Saints fan for over 50 years.
There are no Matt LeTissiers anymore unfortunately, was looking at his goals on Twitter last night. what a man!

Being a Southampton supporter is great fun though, don't you think.? 1976 what memories Sholing Sports in the evening, pretty much a free bar. took some girl home (never did know her name) Last year League cup, we were robbed . Man Utd were so close to losing, but best bit. there with my mate Rob Easton, also Weston Park, played for Vospers and we started day one St Monica School.52 years later. he is still my best mate.

To all you Saints Fans. don't worry. we will be fine. good season coming your way very soon!

Be realistic, we are fighting to survive from the first game. We have virtually the same squad that played the last six games of last season. That was relegation form and no change of management will alter that.

gtsaint - What a negative stand point, we still have some very good players and we have a Manager with Passion supported by a very professional Board.

If we end up 8th-12th, then that would be realistic, if we get out Team playing as a Team, we might hit 7th. What would you want then.? Sign a load of mercenaries . pay stupid wages . live beyond out means.?

We have had a brilliant last 7 years, the support from the Liebherr Family is the only reason for this, combined with strong Board management.

We are having it away, if you were to run Saints PLC. what would you sod then?
