With all the speculation about VVD causing unrest within SFC and 19 days till the season starts are we all getting a deja vu situation again. All this talk of put him in the reserves, stick him on the bench nonsense just doesn't make sense. The only people and players that will be affected will be SFC and the supporters. I know we want to stand firm regarding this but let's be honest he's going so get rid now. Some people said we stood firm with Morgan Schneiderlin a couple of seasons ago but that was different he had been with us for a long long time and been through the highs and lows of our turbulent journey back to the PL. VVD has been with us 5 minutes and really doesn't have the heart strings tugged in any way whatsoever with his ties to SFC. Might seem wrong but sell him, make a massive profit and move on. These top players come to our club knowing that if they are very successful other top clubs will be in for them. Deep down SFC know this when they sign them, very clever really and excellent business even if does upset a lot of our supporters. We are where we are in the PL due to our transfer policy and I am sure this will continue in the future. It works, and it has made SFC a household name throughout the country and some parts of Europe. Just sell VVD and concentrate on the rest of the team and the season.

Dont agree Chris sorry, the Schneiderlin situation worked and so did Wanyamma. Wanyamma hadant been with us long and we made him do another season, we sid his replacement whilst still at the cluband he is argubly a better player and I believe that is because Wanyamma being made to do another season gave Romeu time to settle in. The club needs to show the rest of the world but more importantly our own squad of players they cannot just up and leave when ever they feel like it and especially when it involes them signing the most lucrative contract in SFC history. Also they way Liverpool went about their dealings, you don't want other sSouthampton players thinking its acceptable to meet and chat to a manager of another club? Also VVD was injured half of last season and he at the very least owes us another season, that will also give us time to find his replacement.

Your wrong crisis talking about these top players coming here as a stepping stone did you know about mane before he came here or wanyama or lovers or Clyne the list goes on that's without our homegrown talent so maybe we did have a hand in their improvement and deserve a bit of loyalty and credit so no we don't buy brilliant players that miraculously bigger clubs missed.

I appreciate what you are saying and understand your disagreement with what I have said. I am sure that there are people out there that do agree with me though and mentioning Mane is a great example. He came to SFC as a stepping stone to better himself and had no intention of staying with us from day one of us signing him. He like Ronald Koeman came here to put themselves in the shop window. Maybe I'm wrong but don't think so.
