In my opinion we have 2 of the best attacking full backs in the league and think we cry out for a striker in the mold of pelle. Big target man who can bully defences and upset them. We always seem to be the "nice team". I like gabbiadini think he is a real class footballer very intelligent movement and reading and I like Austin as a fox in the box type striker and long as the legs who runs defences ragged and wins you possession up the pitch. but I feel we definitely miss the pelle esque player.

Are they waiting for Gallagher to come good in that role rather than blocking his path and his development?

Agree, our game has been totally different since Pelle went. Sam Gallagher would be the obvious option, but Sky are reporting that we are going to send him out on a short term loan, Villa, Derby or Birmingham potential destinations.

My feeling is that MP has taken a look at Gallagher and declared that he's not yet ready for the step up into the Saints team. Interestingly the Number 9 shirt is still vacant - I would bet money on us still looking for that Target Man to sign ;-)
