I agree with previous posts that we need to give our players more freedom, and play with a lot more pace. This doesn't just mean having fast players though, but being more direct and thinking faster. We take way too many touches on the ball at the moment.

I'd like to see Sims given a real shot. I liked him when he played last year, he seemed very willing to run at people which I think we need. Also I agree with a previous poster Lemina should play in midfield.

I think we should take advantage of how many good cb's we have, and our attacking wing backs, and go to 5 at the back (3 when attacking) . Romeu and Lemina would make a strong midfield. My only concern would be a lack of creativity in midfield, we'd need Lemina to play well from the start and be our own (probably lesser) version of Dembele for Spurs.

My lineup for next game:

Forster (just about)
Hoedt
Stephens (think VVD is still a couple weeks off first team football)
Yoshida
Cedric
Bertrand
Romeu
Lemina
Redmond
Sims
Gabbiadini

Bench: McCarthy, McQueen, Bednarek (maybe VVD is sharp enough for bench? ), JWP, Davis, Boufal/ Tadic, Austin.

So many people don't want Davis in the team, why? He is the only one prepared to get stuck in . I would play Long at Palace and play him wide and leave Redmond out, fed up with no end product from him. Shane is still a dangerous player and just maybe we could keep Gabbiadini on the pitch for the full match for change. The two of them could work well together if the manager plays the right tactics which I am afraid is looking less and less likely.

I just think we need a bit more power in midfield than Davis offers. Also Davis lack of end product is frustrating. He's a good, solid player who should still have a role in the team, but I think his days as the first name on the team sheet should be over.

Playing with 3 cb's means one less central midfielder, and unfortunately I think Davis would be the casualty of that. Romeu isn't going to be left out, and i'd favour Lemina or JWP due to their potential and extra bit of quality.

Re. Long, I can see your point and wouldn't mind seeing him get a run out. I would love the message MP could send to the team by playing him and Sims on either side of gabbi/ Austin. Would be a real kick up the backside of those higher paid and higher rated players who played the most pathetic game of football I've seen a team play against Watford. I'd still keep Redmond in the side long-term though; he's part of the problem at the moment but I think he, along with Gabbi and JWP (who have also been underwhelming), is also going to be part of any solution since we're hardly going to sign a whole new attack in January.

I can only think we would play 3 CB's because we want to play on the counter attack. Why is that especially at home whatever happened to our high pressing game we had from when Pochettino and RK were here? We look scared these days. We probably have the two best overlapping full backs in the league apart from Walker, the tactics are all wrong we have the players but the tactics from CP and MP are all wrong. We played United off the park at Wembley with this squad because we played with high pace and gave them no time on the ball. Need a target man with height in the box still can't get my head around if we were not going to sign another striker why we sold Jay Rod after nursing him back to health for two seasons. Don't know but something is just not right at St. Mary's at the moment just get that gut feeling, hope I'm wrong.

3 cb's doesn't mean you can't press high. That would be the job of the strikers; Spurs for example like to press and play 3 cb's.

As a side note. don't know what you've been smoking but Walker is not the best wing back in the league!

We'll see 123 he would walk into our side in a heartbeat.
