Olivier Giroud anyone? I appreciate that Arsenal wouldn't want to lose him but if he's looking for regular first team football before the world cup, he's got little competition and we would benefit from a target man. Moussa Dembele from Celtic? Mohammed Elyonoussi looks good. But perhaps the best recruits would be from proven premier league performers to avoid loss of form as they transition. Players from Scotland tend to do ok fairly quickly. I think we need to find a leader from somewhere too at some point. A physical, commanding centre-back perhaps who will drive the team forwards from the back. Not sure who though. Any suggestions?

Before getting any more players getting a new manager is absolutely vital. MP seems to have resorted to pot luck when picking the starting eleven a bit like choosing the winner of the Grand National. We have some excellent players but they need motivating rather than playing like rabbits in the headlights. Still think Gordon Steachan could be a good choice, popular with our fan base which would help immeasurably at getting the crowd behind the team. What we don’t need at this time is another foreign manager without PL experience as we are living on borrowed time with the games running out. We need a quick fix not a long term plan at the moment and hopefully stay in the division. Sell VVD and anybody else who doesn’t want to play for us and spend all the proceeds plus a bit more to keep us in the PL. If we don’t and get relegated it may be years before we get back. Act now Les Reed, accept you employed the wrong guy. If CP was still here I honestly believe we would be several points better off than we are now. The thing that lost him his job was partly due to negative play but mainly the VVD saga and players like Tadic whinging and whining. When Tadic came on yesterday he looked a class act and could have changed the game had we not been so far behind. Get a manager in now that knows how to get us out of this hole this current one certainly doesn’t.

VVD give, Bertrand wants out. I'm not a fan of keeping players if they want out but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and keep them, what good is the Southampton team without VVD/ Bertrand, lemina looks good he could want out soon? We have the issue with Coutinho and quite frankly if it makes your team better I'm all for keeping them. You can’t let Bertrand go.
