Long time reader, first time poster. But seriously as fans we need to shut up and shut up fast!

At the end of last season you were all calling for the sacking of Puel (not the board, the board showed rightful faith in him until the fans cries could not be ignored any longer) . This was fans calling for the sacking of a manager that finished 8th and got to the final of the EFL cup. This is whilst playing in Europe (something smaller teams struggle with), yet this wasn’t good enough and fans got their wish! Puel was sacked undeservedly! Just to add this was his FIRST SEASON in english football. Did Pep perform to expectations in his first season? Nope! Even the Eds backed Puel as a good manager but we still didn’t listen. Now we’re paying the price of languishing in the relegation zone whilst Puel is proving us wrong leading a team up the table and giving us a royal spanking whilst he’s at it.

Now we blame the board, but you know what the last few seasons the board have been better than we as fans deserve. They’ve got us in profit (something no many football teams can brag about) they’ve taken us to our highest league finishes and they’ve steered the ship well. But now we have a blip, it all their fault. I’m afraid in this instance we dug our own grave. The missed signing of Theo wasn’t our fault his head was turned by more money (can’t blame him) the missed signing of Promes seems more down to Spatak that our issue, should there have been another plan? Probably but when you made 75mil out of one signing everyone going to play hard ball with you.

I’m not going to lie I don’t think for a minute MP is the right man for the job but we need to back the board in their decisions.

MP is the issue nothing more nothing less
He's taken us to where we sit in the league with his style of play negative
I remember watching his first interview thinking ok this guy means business he sounds positive and plays the type of football everyone likes to watch
So what happened
no one else can be blamed apart from the people who employ him and make the decisions at the top
We are just supporters at the end of the day
Who have to watch his style of football.

At the end of the day we're football fans that support a club that have tasted short term success and exceeded everyone's expectation. With a squad of talent players that every pundit in the country rates.
Football fans will always moan and groan when things aren't going their way. If we were to turn around and win the next 4 games on the bounce and fly up the table, the complaints with die down and everyone will be happy again.
However, from what I've seen so far this season MP isn't the right man for the job. And this isn't because we're in the relegation zone at the moment. It's because nothing he's done tactically says to me that he knows what he's doing. He makes changes to the team every game. This suggests he doesn't know his best 11. Only 3 players have managed to consistently play first team football this season (Cedric, Bertrand and Romeu) and then he seems to go for a mix and match to get a result.
We look dead at the moment, we don't go for the kill anymore. It seems like we're not playing with any freedom. None of our players have confidence.
MPs targets at the start of the season were probably to get another cup run and challenge for a Europa League spot. And now it'll be to stay up.

It is the tactics that ALL of our teams are deploying that’s the concern, we are not winning enough games at all levels. I reiterate that all of these players don’t suddenly become inept, they are being coached that way. Time and time again mp is throwing on attaking players when we are losing and if we are winning by a single goal he tries to shut up shop by making defensive substitutions thus drawing teams onto us, that is why we are 2nd from bottom, not brave enough to actually go on and win a game.

I don't agree about Puel. Yes SOME fans did call for his sacking, but the board had the final say. If it is the fans call, as you say, then surely MP2 would have gone weeks ago.

As a STH I for one have a right to have a view and will not shut up. Until the last 2 or 3 results I have kept the faith but the situation was so avoidable. I have it under good authority that Moscow informed saints over a week ago that in order for a deal to go through, they wanted a bid accepted for QP at least 48 hours before the window shut to undertake their own negotiations. We did not offer enough until it was to late, not sure the fans can take the blame for that.

Given the Russian transfer window is open till late February, why would they want 48hours before the uk one closes?

Not sure, I wasn't actually aware of that but it is what I was told. can't verify it 100% of course.
