I really hope we don't let Matty targett go. I think he will be a decent player for us, local lad, And the natural successor to Bertrand. at most, loan him to Fulham for the season so he gets first team premier league experience. Bertrand isn't getting any younger. I don't see the point in selling the next player in line and then having to spend double. on replacing Bertrand when he goes/ retires.

Saints have set the price and I think Fulham will pay it we have to make some profit this window we always do.

To start talking about Bertrand retiring is a bit much - no chance Targett would stick around that long. I think the point is if we think Bertrand will be off next summer if not this, then why not let him go now while we have a replacement waiting in the wings.

Perhaps Mcqueen offers more going forwar if we are playing a back 5 if needed.

Matt Targett is the future, I know that Ryan Bertrand is better just at the minute, but he wasn't that good last year. He has various business interests and not sure that he is 100% focused.
Totally agree with Milky Saint and think we might be better selling Bertrand if we can get a decent offer and make Targett the main man.

Sam McQueen is also a cracking player, personally I think he should push up in front of either Bertrand if he stays or Targett as a Winger, he has a strong cross and is physically strong. Nathan Redmond, is a one trick pony, frustrates the proverbial out of you a lot of the time. He has pace, goes past three or four players. has maybe one man to go at and either checks. or fails to go inside towards goal, just don't get it!

Just hope if he stays Hughes sorts him out, if he can't, let him go. Pete.
