Well then what a signing! Very un-Saints to leave a deal that late but if Ralph saw the opportunity and it turns out to be a success then I'll only love him more!

We now know our squad until January at least and barring injuries I'd expect this to be our most common lineup based on 3 or 4 atb;

Gunn; Valery Bednarek Vestergaard Danso Bertrand; Hojbjerg Romeu; Ward-Prowse Adams Redmond

Gunn; Valery Bednarek Danso Bertrand; Hojbjerg Romeu; Ward-Prowse Redmond; Ings Adams

That leaves so many good good players to make impacts either by breaking into the first XI or off the bench;

McCarthy/ Forster, Cedric Yoshida Armstrong Lemina Boufal Obafemi Slattery and eventually Sims

Hoedt Stephens Long Elyounoussi and Carrillo, plus a keeper, will probably be the deadwood left we'd like to shift but if two or three of them go out on loan to La Liga / Serie A then what a total success!

Maybe a full back short but apart from that, all aboard with Ralph! Top 10 considering what the sides above us have done would be an awesome season.

As I said, Stephens should be deadwood. Can’t believe that either Yoshida didn’t start instead, or we just went four at the back - I know there’s the risk with PEH being unwell but Romeu and JWP would be more than adequate in a two than having to put up with Stephens in a back three.

Even play Bertrand at CB and Cedric/ Valery full backs, just don’t play Stephens or Hoedt! I hope that Ralph has either said proud me wrong and he’s failed that test, or it’s a one game filler until Danso is ready 😬.
