Boufal has medical today travelling to Super SAINTS.

HarSaint

1.) 27 Aug 2016 07:21:04
So it seems! Hope his knee is okay or he won't pass the medical.

2.) 27 Aug 2016 09:28:10
They can still pass him based on the report from lille medical team and agreement of recoup time.

24 Aug 2016 19:33:59
Boufal on his way to St Mary's according to sky 20 million bit of a sstatement.

HarSaint

1.) 24 Aug 2016 20:02:59
Napoli interested and has said would prefer to stay in serie a.

{Ed002's Note - He plays for Lille in France.}

2.) 24 Aug 2016 20:06:04
I have read £21.2m, however, a deal is very close apparently.

3.) 24 Aug 2016 20:08:39
Sorry Harsaint I haven't seen anything on Sky or though if it was true it would be our highest ever signing ahead of Dani osvaldo.

4.) 24 Aug 2016 21:04:10
Now on Sky transfer centre.

5.) 24 Aug 2016 20:42:57
Yeah schoolboy error was thinking of Zara.

6.) 24 Aug 2016 21:54:23
You mean zaza lol.

7.) 24 Aug 2016 22:02:08
Zaza*

What do you all think about the knee injury though? Out until middle of next month (if no complications) - got to hope he is still on form after injury.

8.) 24 Aug 2016 22:17:38
That's a shop not far from the saints store.

9.) 24 Aug 2016 22:19:20
Also, if it was our highest ever transfer fee, it wouldn't be just Osvaldo that it was more than, but every sogning we have made.

10.) 24 Aug 2016 23:36:23
Still think we will sign a target man as well, probably Ghezzal . The board knows we need to score goals and as good as our squad is it lacks a finisher, we need that.

11.) 25 Aug 2016 14:03:13
Ghezzal is a winger as well, the only out and out striker we may be after is Sebastian haller.

12.) 25 Aug 2016 16:03:32
He is 6 foot tall and can play in the middle as well. Remember Redmond is supposed to be a winger but where is he playing now.

13.) 25 Aug 2016 21:45:07
Agree with Saint marko, I would like to see Seb Haller in, 1 goal every 2 games (near enough)

14.) 26 Aug 2016 01:13:18
Haller has scored 45 in 119 (1 per 2.64 games) . He also has 2 goals in 3 games this season (a header vs PSV and a penalty vs SC Heerenveen) . Sign him up.

Any news on Gabbadini would be a great addition.

HarSaint

1.) 11 Aug 2016 18:40:38
Nothing new that I've seen. Just another name in the pot.

2.) 11 Aug 2016 20:03:49
News is he won't be coming and at the moment is anyone else, keep counting the money les.

3.) 11 Aug 2016 22:22:54
What news are you on about Marko do you have a hot line or something or maybe just guessing?

4.) 11 Aug 2016 22:52:29
I'd leave it Chris, he has only ever posted negative comments and the last 4 or 5 are identical to this one.

5.) 12 Aug 2016 02:18:43
Seems to have gone quiet on the gabbiadini front seems like we had a bid reject for Stefano Stuart from juventus.

6.) 12 Aug 2016 09:45:23
I hardly think that our business is done this window. We need to strengthen. CP is a cup manager and will be hoping for a good run in at least one domestic cup competition along with a good crack in Europe, certainly beyond the group stage. We can't do that with 3 known strikers, 2 of which are injury prone and yet to prove they are back and sharp. We also need depth at the back. A new CB is important as we don't have adequate cover for Fonte and VD. We will need to be able to rotate players and there is a big gap between those 2 and our back up defenders. I expect at the very least a strong CB to sign yet and I would expect a striker. We have lost 3 KEY players this season and only really signed one as a replacement. Redmond would have come in even if we hadn't lost mane, pelle or vic. We were lucky with injuries last season.

7.) 12 Aug 2016 12:13:26
great post James Saint and completely agree with you! I think he will sign 3 players before the window closes. A new striker but think it will be out of know where and a CB - seen we are linked with ManC's Debayor which would be a good cover option and would get cup games but not sure Guardiola wants to sell or loan him out. I also think he will sign another CM but think this might be a loan as we have a lot of games coming up.

8.) 12 Aug 2016 14:26:10
Yeah I'd agree with that. We certainly seem to be linked with midfielders at the moment, I would question why a midfielder as we have a good range imo. Plus reed and perhaps even hesketh coming through. But as j said, we seem to be linked with midfielders so I guess CP knows a bit more about that position than we do. I'd be happy with a good CB and a good strong CF. still plenty of time left!

9.) 12 Aug 2016 14:52:15
I doubt we'll sign 3 players, Puel will play Redmond as a striker, = 4 strikers vying for 2 positions, we basically have 2 players in each position now, although I do agree about the lack of quality cover at CB, yet we haven't been linked to many. I'd like an AM as I think Tadic is crucial to this system working and we'll need some sort of back up there. As for every other position I'm pretty happy tbh. So preferably 2 signings but reckon we'll only get one more in.

10.) 12 Aug 2016 15:08:38
Hesketh is our tadic cover I thibk.

11.) 12 Aug 2016 17:02:39
I would love to see Hesketh coming though into the first team this season. Showed great promise last season with the under 21's and could really be a big part of SFC's future. Davis and Ward-Prowse are also able to play that position. Looks like we will be playing a diamond formation which worries me slightly, however our midfield looks extremely strong for next season.

12.) 12 Aug 2016 20:06:36
And he put 2 past qpr recently. He is sniffing a round the first team for sure. Wants to make a good impression. I've rated him for a while now having seen him play. He is very young and somewhat naive but definitely some potential there to be uncovered. Is like to see him given a game or 2 from the bench in the first half of the season and even having a run out in early cup games if we draw a low team. Give him a chance to carve some teams apart and he will develop quickly.

It's ok saying we need a new striker but a good one would cost 40 mill and his wages would be too much for Southampton it's a difficult one don't you think.

HarSaint

1.) 10 Dec 2016 07:49:33
NO it's not it's a no brainer buy a goalscorer or end up bottom half of the table (or worse) which is a backwards step (as you lot say "we March on") and we got 40 million plus for the proven goalscorers we sold add their wages together and you get wages for him but even if we didn't we NEED goals and can any of you see them coming from who we've got half charlies goals are from pens.

2.) 10 Dec 2016 11:01:29
There won't be any proven strikers avaliable in Jan as the good ones will still be in European competition and the African cup of nations players will be covered by squad players (i. e. Sturrige)

Eric Black latest name to be revealed by the telegraph he will be sacked today bring back Sammy Lee.

HarSaint

1.) 30 Sep 2016 07:40:38
Good move on Southamptons part. Sacking him and not defending him. He's only been at the club for a couple of months so easily replaced.

2.) 30 Sep 2016 18:07:04
They're defending him.

3.) 30 Sep 2016 21:02:37
Have they sacked him? Nothing on the OS other than stating the guardian have refused to hand over their evidence, which leads me to believe that they've run the story without any evidence.

{Ed001's Note - it is the Torygraph and they have provided evidence for each of the stories. The refusal is over future stories, such as tonight's 'Arry Redknapp. They want to hold onto it to release when they choose.}

4.) 01 Oct 2016 18:48:14
The trouble with footballers and managers of today (and yesterday in the case of Harry the Dog) . they see themselves as some kind of celebrity, almost above the law . sat back in their chairs so cocky and arrogant. I liken them to the characters in the Mafiosa films. boasting about their antics, even exaggerating them.
What happened to good old football, played with passion, heart, dedication. Playing for the love of the game, not the greed of money.
I actually think they believe they are celebrities, playing out some film. You are not! you are the keepers, the overseers, the guardians of our beloved game. The game that as a small boy I played with a tennis ball for hours on end, the game that saw me cleaning and polishing my football boots until they shone . the game that I watched with my dad, while stood on a stool .
Get rid of the rubbish and cleanse this beautiful game, before it's too late.

{Ed001's Note - personally I doubt there is enough evidence, from reliable sources, to do anything. It is not easy to prove wrongdoing of this kind, especially when the likes of 'Arry can seem to get away with anything in court. It was all the dog's fault anyway.....}

We need to sign players who want to wear the Saints shirt and not there for the money.

HarSaint

1.) 29 Aug 2016 07:23:36
They my friend are very few and far between. It's the same at all clubs.

2.) 29 Aug 2016 13:53:27
HarSaint get real. It's their profession not charity work. Money talks like it does in any other business.
If you got offered double the money to work for a competitor would you be happy to "wear the shirt" or would you shift for the cash. Fans are loyal, players very rarely are. I don't like it but that's where we are.

27 Aug 2016 20:23:53
My mate was talking to Fonte today he said the board have not spoke to him it's all paper talk no pay rise offered yet bad news guys.

HarSaint

1.) 28 Aug 2016 01:42:15
I'm sure Fonte shares all of his personal information with random people he just happens to speak to.

2.) 28 Aug 2016 06:18:54
Paper talk? It was the manager that said they had spoken.

22 Aug 2016 19:06:07
Well it's suicidal to let Jay Rod go without a replacement surely Les is about to get the cheque book out.
