According to friends or a couple of ex-saints the Clyne issue is genuinely in the balance. He and a few other saints players (big Vic was mentioned) are willing to commit but nervous about the future of colleagues, so basically there could be a bit of a landslide either way. Toby is keen to commit and the feeling is that if saints pushed the boat out and signed him and agreed a new deal with Vic then Clyne would follow. Obviously Big Vic has a fair bit of contract left so saints are reluctant to just give him a pay rise. Basically it seems that agents are doing their bit and its causing some turbulence.

They are also saying (though I'm not sure how they know this) that Austin is saints No.1 target. He seems like a good fit for saints but it may not come across as the statement of intent that other players are looking for.

These guys were on the button last season but only with the outs, and that was never anything I wanted to believe in.

If it's not announced on the OS before Thursday, I see no reason why Koeman won't be telling us Clyne isn't signing a new contract if that's him and his agents decision at the next pre-match conference. I can appreciate why some players would be reluctant to sign extensions because of what happened last summer, but for that not to happen someone like Clyne or Rodriguez has to make the first move, otherwise what choice do the board have but to move the players on?

If players with only a year or so left on their contracts refuse to sign extensions we have only one option and that is to sell them for as much as we can but I hope the board then give Roko enough money to replace them with top players and not try to fill the gaps with U21s and average imports.

Filip Đuričić has agreed a loan move to Trabzonspor ending any chance of him joing saints perminantly.

Shame I really liked the guy and thought he had potential. Our buyout clause was €9 but Benfica are tought to have been ready to except €3. Surely worth a punt for League Cup and early euro rounds?

He did nothing.

twitter was hilarious last night, a week ago everyone was slagging him off then last night after he scored (for the Serb u21's) everyone was his biggest fan begging for the club to sign him up.

Not sure he'd done enough for a permanent transfer (defo not for anywhere near 9 million anyway), would have liked him back on loan but he looks like another Ramirez - has the talent just can't hack the prem

Last season I saw Koeman at Southampton Central. Not everyone travels by Bat Mobile.

Regardless of Classies potential, it may be a case of whether he fits with Puel's ideas of the teams future. Personally I can't see him playing anywhere in the Diamond.

If this happens it will be BECAUSE we have a new striker coming in. It could be a good move for all concerned, I love Jay Rod but both him and Austin are a risk in terms of fitness. Both he and Austin are fit ATM, but the risk is they get injured again. We would be transferring that risk to Hull if we have someone in mind to come in.

I think Hull may be in a position to accept that risk.

It might be 2+2=5 but I can see a real possibilty of Oxlade-Chamberlain coming in with Big vic going the other way to Arsenal.

The Ox's international career is stalling and he is in desperate need for regular 1st team football. Also the maths might well add up for Arsenal.

Saints are likely to have a sizable sell on clause which may well give them anything between 10-25% off the going rate for him . Arsenal are in desperate need of a midfield enforcer and Saints would be much happier not having to do business with the "north London yobbos" in fact it is positively appealing to do business with their rivals who have just beaten them to 2nd.
