BBC reporting Ings has rejected contract extension.

BBC reporting our interest in these players:

Alberth Elis, Forward (Boa Vista)
Junior Firpo, Defender (Barcelona)

Jim_of_Slim

1.) 14 Jun 2021 13:40:28
Would love Firpo. Hope is that Barcelona need a lot of players off their books so to snap him up for seven figures would be excellent.

Elis would be a bit of a gamble but could provide that bit more than our other wingers. Good to see that ‘hopefully’ we’re trying to get business done early.

2.) 06 Jul 2021 13:20:37
Firpo signs for Leeds.

Echo reporting club up for sale £250m

And GAO won't invest anymore money

Southampton FC for sale article

Jim_of_Slim

1.) 09 Mar 2020 09:19:27
From the outside looking in his investment does not look very good. It almost feels like he's seen us as a selling club, where he can make some money on the margin from our player sales. And since he's taken charge we haven't been able to make any money by selling players so now he wants out, as RH and the club have probably said they don't want to sell any players in the summer.

Investing in a football club isn't going to make you loads of money straight off the bat, it's a slow procedure that takes years to develop. It's a weird one, and now I'm reading rumours of RB wanting to buy the club.

{Ed002's Note - I don't think you understand the situation at all.}

2.) 09 Mar 2020 20:36:18
SOLD to Red Bull GmbH
(i assume as per Ed's comment - 80%)

3.) 10 Mar 2020 10:30:51
There was a post on Twitter from Southampton Football Club on their official site of the sale of the club to Red Bull and has now been approved by the FA? It disappeared and no mention anywhere?

4.) 11 Mar 2020 17:05:24
Didn't that RB sale message come from a fake Southampton fc Twitter account where the team's name was misspelled?

So FF told he’s not required any longer. but who will take him if he’s not played since Boxing Day 2017?

Spider to Everton then. should stop some of the fantasy going around!

Jim_of_Slim

1.) 13 Jan 2017 11:38:07
a big step backwards, but guaranteed 1st team footie,
in an ideal world I'd liked to have seen him back, but deep down knew it wasn't ever going to materialise

2.) 13 Jan 2017 13:00:20
kinda sad, the funniest part of the last few weeks has been seeing the fans who've spent all season complaining we're too defensive and not scoring enough complain how we're not going to re-sign a defensive midfielder

saints fans, eh?

3.) 13 Jan 2017 21:28:38
Let's face it Everton are a better club than we are for there ambition alone

4.) 14 Jan 2017 07:42:08
Had huge debt now have a rich benefactor. Think he is Egyptian don't get rich by throwing money away so will want a return or cash out only time will tell. They have spent a lot already and still aren't great only our recent poor form has sent them back above us.

5.) 14 Jan 2017 08:07:26
I think its a bit sad he's gone to Everton. Not a step up from us. And I think he's too good for Everton even think Spurs would have been better as at least they could be in Champs League.

6.) 14 Jan 2017 18:45:30
But Everton are better than us they are above us in the league, have a better manager and have spider now who is better than who we tried to replace him with Clasie. And now they are being ambitious spending money paying decent wages for improving their squad. That's more than you can say for sorry old we sell a player Saints.

The only player we have brought as a replacement that has been an upgrade has been vandyke all the others have been a downgrade including our current manager we the quality has slowly downgraded.

Sorry to be so down beat but in my eyes that's the truth I'd definitely rather be buzzing about my club but just can't.

7.) 15 Jan 2017 18:25:20
Totally agree Mikeysfc. Lack if ambition and selling all our players is finally catching up with us. Les reed has made a terrible mistake in my eyes, over the summer in letting koeman go, and getting rid of probably our best ever strike force in the prem and either didn't replace them or replaced them with sub standard.

It might of worked the past few seasons but not this one, I'm even more annoyed now that it's been two weeks in the transfer window and we haven't even got anyone in yet.

A striker is a must plus another two defenders and a holding midfielder. Probably only get one if any! 😡😡😡

8.) 16 Jan 2017 20:37:46
Still time in this window hopefully it will come good they must be ready to make a good offer soon fingers crossed

Can't find the article - was in Apple news feed, but Jay Rod linked with a loan move to Hull.

Can't see this happening until we at least get a striker through the door.

Jim_of_Slim

1.) 19 Aug 2016 09:59:32
Its just constant from the media, Charlie Austin is going and now J Rob, so we are going to be left with 1 front man. It won't happen.

2.) 19 Aug 2016 10:04:48
J Rod.

3.) 19 Aug 2016 12:34:19
yep, media selling papers. Don't shoot the messengers though. Its what this page is all about.

4.) 19 Aug 2016 13:04:14
Sports Editor at the Daily Mail. 'Mmmmm, I must write some rumours or potentially i'll be out on my ear. Southampton have a player that's not currently getting in the 1st 11, and Hull are in desperate need of players' Et voila! That'll keep my household fed and watered for another 2 months. Good 'old Saints - Always easy targets to make up stupid rumours!

COYR's!

5.) 19 Aug 2016 13:25:53
spot on Bendy.

27 Jun 2016 22:33:11
So, looking forward to a great season.

Nothing will be as bad as tonight's England performance.

Let's grow the next generation of England stars, AND keep hold of them.

Bye bye woy and Dwayne, hello new season!

Jim_of_Slim

1.) 27 Jun 2016 23:36:43
Keep hold of them LOL.

05 Jan 2016 19:28:33
I'm hearing noise about Wanyama getting sent off intentionally so that he misses the cup game, and as such is not cup tied when he makes his move to one of the London clubs. Anything in this?

Also, Mane trying to force a move, which is why he was really left out at the weekend?

Jim_of_Slim

{Ed013's Note - I doubt it}

1.) 05 Jan 2016 22:02:10
Mane was late for a team meeting, that's why he was left out. Overreaction by Koeman imo, especially since he moved the meeting forward and Mane showed up at the time it was originally supposed to start. In no way has he made any mention of wanting to move.

{Ed001's Note - actually, this is a repeated offence, which was why he was dropped.}

Hi chris, but late as the game has psssed, but there normally is a collection only office. The office nearest the itchen stand is sales and next one round to northam is collections, then away fans after that.

I agree that you shouldn't be labelled a supporter only if going to matches - I've been a fan since a kid, but I can't afford to go to every match, does that make me any less a supporter? Because I don't pour £800+ a year to watch every home match?

Yes, born in Shirley, luv! Saw my first match at the dell aged 9.

I was just being cheeky - from what I was reading people could be confused that you two were on a trip down the Southampton FC tunnel of love!

I admire any player who has played for the saints - including that Ali Dia fella in 1996, he may have been a complete bag of sh! te, but he's spent more time on a football field than I have.

I don't really think who we want to see is relevant - as I have faith in the board to make the correct signings that fit our club, although a fully fit and firing striker would be top of my list for sure.
