Heard the player we have gone in for is Jovetic as a late buy. We lack in strikers and him and Gabbi may compliment each other with Gabbi playing can.

1.) 27 Aug 2017 18:39:48
Pity we didn't get Chris Wood.

2.) 28 Aug 2017 00:19:13
Where'd did ya hear this?

3.) 28 Aug 2017 10:55:44
Any links or proof to this rumour saint weaver or was it the voices in your head.

4.) 28 Aug 2017 16:25:38
It's just talk around, didn't suggest it's true, merely posted a rumour on a rumour site Mark 29 or was it the voices in your head telling you I decided to just randomly post something?

5.) 29 Aug 2017 17:14:20
Jovetic is not coming to saints, he's signed for Monaco.

10 Aug 2017 16:05:44
Reports state we have had a €22 million offer for Wimmer turned down by spurs. not sure they want to sell tbh. So in to Hoedt.

1.) 10 Aug 2017 17:01:41
Wimmer has looked good when he has played for Spurs but barely played last year, not sure he warrants the price tag that they'd accept.

2.) 10 Aug 2017 17:50:24
Trouble is it's the premier league. You always pay over the odds for players. I think Hoedt is a sound player, but if we got him plus Wimmer then good window.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 18:26:27
Agree with Sam completely. Think he'd do alright. It just seems a bit steep.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 01:50:28
Coutinho hands in a transfer request. He wants to win trophies at a big club . Karma! Maybe we should just do a swap.

So last night I was going to post but didn't as well I've updated twice and thought I had better not, but as you can see today in the papers the deal with lander isn't off but they aren't really discussing anything with each other as stated in last post.

This is because of money and other things I don't understand lol.

But as the daily mail have stated there are 2-3 other interested parties that would like to takeover Southampton football club and it is believed that due to the delay in the lander deal has give RK and KL and opportunity to speak with these people.

Two are Chinese that have been watching the lander deal closely, Amer sports company I believe 🤔 And CITIC investment bank which is China's largest investment bank another based in America.

There was a rumour about another but supposedly KL wasn't impressed with them and decided to end the discussion before they went any further.

But according to someone I have spoken to through private message he says he doesn't expect the deal to through now due to KL being worried about Gao Jisheng and what his plans are for the club.

Anyway guys having looked in to it she needs to sell a majority as I stated months ago on twitter and got laughed she estimated to be worth 300 mil. Can't move forward with that. So I looked in to the first to companies and CITIC seem the best option but according to daily mail Krueger has been sounded out by some other interested parties so not sure what's next tbh

And I can't find anything more

Have a good one.

1.) 26 Jul 2017 07:15:40
Once again, well done.
One thing I don't like is the talk of investment banks and property development companies. Just seem to think they are only in it for the money.
Lots just hope the third one is a mega rich Arab sugar daddy that supports the saints. I can only hope.

23 Jul 2017 21:52:13
so to update again, I have continued to dig and as I said KL wants more money than is being offered. £180 million now from what I'm getting from various different sites and Chinese papers, I have a Chinese GF it helps lmao is that Gao Jisheng is prepared to pay the 210 million. But is unwilling to pay that for only 80% stake in the club. Which is why the talks have stalled.

Now there are rumours going around that they are considering reopening the talks with a new offer in the region of £195 million but this would be a take it or leave offer. now the rumours from KL half is that they value the club between £210-225 million.

According to what I have read Gao Jisheng has the money to buy us and also has the ability to pump in near on £100 million in transfer funds. But KL still wants that 20% of the club, to help over see the take over and keep some continuity. Gao Jisheng See's this as her trying to still have say in the direction of club but is willing to let it slide if she lowers her price!

Quoted in papers and from what I've read backs it up at £180 million as stated before he's willing to rise on the price but does want to go higher than 200 million not because he's doesn't believe we are worth that much but because he believes that's the worth of 80% of the club.

I feel I should also add KL will accept £200 million, it's a wait and see what happens game now, but according to the rumours they already know the plan for the club and it has been said KL has been actively looking for a buyer and firmly believes that this could push us into the top 6 in the league.

But as you know that wouldn't happen straight away and the two have be locked in talks about the direction and potential of the club and this has been said to have been a massive factor in why Gao Jisheng has decided to go for saints and is impressed with everything about the club.

This doesn't appear like it will be sorted during the transfer window. From what I have read and it seems fairly plausible that if they can get back to talking and agree on a price there is a small chance it maybe done before end of the window but doesn't seem likely as Both sides are playing hardball.

But KL needs the sale so the ball is very much in her park. Like I stated before this isn't a source it's just through hours and hours of going through things to find pockets of information

Cheers boys

Good work SaintWeaver. Thanks for sharing your analysis with us.

21 Jul 2017 15:34:38
So I have been doing some digging, about the new owners and what's been said in the papers today. Supposedly KL is stalling as she wants more than the £180 million that has been quoted. she's looking at nearer £210 million and that Gao Jisheng has speaking publicly to put pressure on KL to sell as he is had enough of negotiations and just wants the deal done. Make of that what you will this isn't from any kind of source it's just through some digging that I have done

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not but if true it's interesting.

1.) 22 Jul 2017 11:00:59
I can't quite understand how a football club is valued. Any Ed or someone else make any sense of it.
Fixed assets, debtors and creditors etc are the easy part. It's the players that I can't work out.
For instance would VVD be down as an asset and included in the valuation? (Obviously all players but using him as an example as his value/ profit is high)

{Ed002's Note - Players are not fixed but intangible assets.}

2.) 22 Jul 2017 18:19:12
Vardy, slimani and Musa are better competition than gabbiadini and Austin. It can be argued.

3.) 22 Jul 2017 18:29:47
Players aren't assets at all. Nor are they intangible assets. Intangible means you can't physically touch it. The only intangible asset on a balance sheet is the goodwill when a business has a "brand" which has been purchased, or when someone has gone from a sole trader or partnership to a limited company. Intangible assets amortise over time to a nil balance. Players are staff, simple as that. They only become an asset when they are realised, for example sold.

{Ed002's Note - Players are dealt with as intangible assets as they are indeed amortised on the books over the length of their contract - or indeed in one go if the club wishes to account like that (but it is one or the other and not a mix). Sorry.}

4.) 23 Jul 2017 09:01:29
They only show as intangible assets when they are purchased, therefore the "value" of the player on the open market isn't on a balance sheet, VVD was signed for a fee significantly lower than his current value. When the club bought him, THAT amount of money would be logged on the balance sheet and will have come down since. JWP will be worth zero on a balance sheet because we didn't buy him.

{Ed002's Note - You need to drop this James - the players are listed in the accounts as Intangible Assets. You need to move on - this is clearly something you don't understand.}

5.) 23 Jul 2017 10:14:44
So would the takeover deal be impacting any sale or purchase of players?
If VVD was initially down in the books at his purchase price and depreciating as per his contract length then clearly it would make more sense for any purchaser that he is still on the books when any deal is done?

{Ed002's Note - No, you don'tstand. Move on from the money please. This is really embarrassing.}

6.) 23 Jul 2017 12:47:53
Hilarious! The funniest part is the idea that an asset doesn't have a value just because you created it!

James, what Ed says is pretty standard accounting practice across the board. The accounts are freely available for checking (advisable before having an argument with someone on the know! ), and i'm looking at them now. (Downloadable in pdf. ) The accounts for 2015/ 16 detail £85M as intangible assets, by far the highest entry. Section 1.6 on page 16 details the accounting policies as far as player values are concerned.

Ed, my understanding is that the Lander deal has been difficult because Chinese rules are that people can't be treated as assets and that affects their financing. Do you know if there's any truth in that?

{Ed002's Note - They don't count as part of the valuation of the business. That is not the reason why it has not gone through. The delay is that advisers to Ms Liebherr and the club has suggested that the value of the club is higher than that discussed with Lander.}

7.) 23 Jul 2017 20:51:23
yes ed, you're right. I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. (If only you knew) but yes, I will drop it.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what "if you only knew" means but you know little of the account of players as intangible assets - I cannot help that. You really need to move on or find somewhere else to have such discussions.}

It's not only rumoured that Coutinho has handed a transfer request but also that Can has said no to a contract as well and supposedly wants to go to juventus but idk it's something read earlier today not sure if true, funny if it is though.

07 Aug 2017 18:49:54
So I have done some digging around and found out so information on this whole situation with VVD.

So according to what I have been reading Virgil had spoken to Puel after he had been to speak to Klopp. Supposedly he asked for his permission to continue talks with Liverpool and Puel had given his consent, without the boards authority todo so. Which is another reason Southampton were considering and eventually did sake Puel. And after Southampton reported Liverpool for an illegal approach for the player VVD.

Now Virgil has been in discussions with the board, the two at the head of the discussions with him are RK and LR. Now Virgil was disappointed he didn't get his move to Liverpool but accepted it. It's when other clubs came in like Chelsea and city who saints, have a firm "No" too that Virgil really got frustrated.

He also sent a frustrated video out when saints said he wasn't 100%. Showing his class he was trying to prove a point. As discussions had gone on and Virgil had been told to train on his own because he wasn't 100% in the head. When the discussions with the club continued the week after Virgil informed the club he was unwilling to train or play for the club. So the club said he can continue to train on his own.

After that Virgil decided to hand in a transfer request in a final try, to try and force a move away. But has been informed that Liverpool are in no way or form going to be involved in the talks as the club have refused to deal with them after being left frustrated and angered by Liverpool and believe this whole situation is down to them.

Their are now two options being discussed, sell to Juventus, Chelsea or city. Or take a stance on the whole situation and deduct 2 weeks wages until the player decides to play

Sorry boys I'm not in the know it's information pulled from different sources and sites to piece something together

10 Jul 2017 14:52:41
I think we need a striker, rw and one more defender then that's it, I'd like:
Munir (unsure of his price tag)
Jovetic (going to Sevilla for €12 million) would be worth a shout
Defenders idk if I'm honest it's hard because this window is stupid for price tags.
What do you guys trying we need.

Personally think Wimmer will cost over the top in terms of price! But! That's today's market and he has potential just not playing every week which what he needs. Tbh I think ed right. Though not sure VVD will go to liverhampton because the clubs have had a massive falling out! So city or Chelsea! But I think next season tbh club seem to be playing hardball this year and good on them.

Play Boufal from the start in place of jwp and put Gabbi behind Austin. So they can interchange and work together that's what we need.

People saying Gallagher won't be premier league quality? A lot of people stated the same thing about Harry Kane! We're going to swap him for MS but nobody wanted to lol everyone said he wasn't premier league quality now look at him! I'm by no means saying Gallagher will be the next Harry Kane but what I am saying is give the boy a chance he can strike a ball and he can score goals just needs a chance.

Just thought about it, the club never made a big deal about breaking our transfer record? So maybe we might break it again?

No I think it's more of a sign we are still in the market for players, personally feel 3 more could come in. I think Armstrong will come in to play behind striker. I think we will get Wimmer now that supposedly Sanchez is going to spurs and I feel we may get Roberts to. But that's probably wishful think so maybe just the two in Armstrong and Wimmer.

Puel did the same thing with Boufal aswell it's not uncommon for our managers to play down reports of players possibly signing for us. Having said that! He is a very talent d player and we may lose out but I'm not in the know! I'll leave that to people who are. Maybe ed has some information who knows.

Am I right in saying ed, that the relationship between both clubs has now collapsed this season and Southampton seem unwilling to talk or deal with Liverpool? I have heard a rumour that this is a similar situation to he mane one last year. That JK klipperty Klopp had approached him without the proper authorisation? I just feel on the face of things Southampton are not willing to sell to Liverpool.

{Ed002's Note - There is no relationship between the clubs - they have not spoken. In apologising they withdrew all interest.}

They can't force a move but if they don't want to to a club then I'm sure they are well with in their rights to say no to any sort of bid or negotiations, but as we know money talks and the players have most of the power these days.
