Agree with that to be fair. Think Ings would be a good signing, but if the rumoured £20m asking price is right then that seems like a hell of a lot for someone that injury prone, and who has barely played in 2 years.

Really think we should be looking at Gameiro from athletico he’s dropped behind griezman and now costa so will be desperate for game time but most importantly he knows where the goal is.

I think. he's too similar to what we have (gabbiadini) and way too lightweight for the prem. We need a focal point for our attack. We've got a poacher (austin) we've got someone who can run in behind or off the wing given the right service (gabbi) we've got a defensive forward that will run the channels and press high and do the dirty work (long) we need a target man. We've got Gallagher but I don't think he's ready yet.
Eds do you know of anyone we've shown an interest in that fits that description?

What would buying Austin accomplish?
Firstly, he's not good enough, yeah he scored a few last season but he won't ever do that consistently, remember when everyone had that fetish over Ings? Yeah.
Secondly, he's the same type of striker as Pelle, if teams specifically mark Pelle out of a game bringing on Austin won't make a damn bit of difference and vice versa.
Lastly, he's too expensive, for the 10-15 million qpr want for a striker with a notoriously dodgy knee we could get someone with champions league experience and still have change left over.
It's time for everyone to put the pictures of Austin down and stick the KY jelly and tissues back in the drawer they came from.
