What happened to the jay rod contract he was offered in the summer??

Saintjamesc

1.) It's still where he left it.

2.) 15 Oct 2014 00:37:41
I heard on tv that Holland want Ronald to be the next Holland manger, they are not happy with the new manager. what do you think ???

3.) 15 Oct 2014 11:21:23
He will almost certainly accept the job. Can't see any way round this one.

4.) Hiddink hasn't been sacked yet and has only just started, so he won't be sacked for a while, Koeman wouldn't be the only candidate anyway, I'm sure Frank De Boer would be on that list

5.) 15 Oct 2014 13:40:23
Ronald Koeman is on record as wanting the national job and Frank de Boer has actually said that RoKo should have had the job when they appointed Gus Hiddink. I am afraid little old Saints wouldn't matter too much to him if he does get offered the job.

6.) 16 Oct 2014 18:54:41
Well chrisdownj, that was a good punt!!LOL

WC is gone-why on earth would RoKo want the national job now? Not going to add much to his CV, but success at Saints certainly will. Do you think Woy will get a job at Barcelona because he can get the national team beating amateur players?
RoKo is a pretty intelligent guy, the media are fools-you need to remember it is this way round.

I will wave the white flag Saint Martin and agree totally with you. I have been so used to the likes of Harry the Hood etc. going anywhere to make mega money that I thought that might happen here. I was dead wrong and I apologise for thinking that way. Ronald Koeman is a top man, trustworthy and a great asset to SFC. Can't be right all the time can I ? LOL

8.) Chrisdownj I can't believe you could think Ron would leave after we spent the summer trying to convince the masses he would not only save us but improve us. As I said in a summer post the Dutch do not lie and they do not rubbish. Ron is a class act and we should enjoy while he is here. Next stop for him is Barcelona in two to three years. Meanwhile I hope today is going to stop all doubters fretting and we all start to enjoy our team again - 8-0 was not a fluke - everyone in a red and white shirt was outstanding. Can't wait for motd to see it again.

Anyone watching the game today knows, things don't look good desperately need a striker and this hasn't even been mentioned!

Saintjamesc

1.) I enjoyed the match really it was nil nil performance but Taider Clone Fonte Tadic Ramirez Wanayma were good. We lacked some cohesion and pace at times. But we were not outplayed. We created good chances but failed to finish. Pelle needs more support was anonymous at times against a good German defence. Reason for hope at time's played as well if not better than last seaons team. Easy daysbut I'm hopeful

2.) 10 Aug 2014 15:57:22
Agree with both of you. I thought the midfield was good
But
We desperately need a striker. Pelle cannot be expected to be on his own against some of the greatest defences in the world.
Our defence also needs at least a couple of people to even have a chance against some of the top strikers in the world.

Re Fonte new contract:

Very happy to get him committed need corky next.

However, a lot of hype and in a personal opinion if we kept all out team together with lovren. to push on I'd have said another CB to partner lovren? What does everyone think?

Jay rod and Spider-Man off to spurs £50m

Shaw lovren spider j rod lallana lambert osvaldo chambers £155m roughly

Owe £25m previous transfers and apparently £20m on training ground bills.

That leaves £105m we have spent about £20m on tadic and pelle so that leaves £85m plus whatever the original budget was.

Add that to boruc, clyne, fonte, targett, cork, Davis, wanyama, tadic, ramirez (if stays), Isgrove, pelle, read, mc carthy, JWP.

It doesn't seem so bad.

Sorry for spelling, just thought I'd try and show some (small) optimism!

Koeman set to spend £50m in the next two weeks sounds great. Then you realise we will have made over £100m in sales and then we apparently had a budget of around £30-40m anyway, adding that all together then taking away the £25m odd we still owed from previous transfers (osvaldo, wanyama, lovren) I think £100m minimum should be the new expenditure. What does everyone think?

Saintjamesc

1.) I think it was 27mill outstanding on transfers and 30 mill for traing ground plus you have to factor in wages for the new signings etc

2.) 28 Jul 2014 12:49:07
We won't get all the money up front though, fees are paid over 2 or 3 years. We got 10m up front for Shaw which is considered a lot to be paid up front in the way which deals are done these days.

This is why I just can't understand loans especially when we had all that income from the selling of most of our players. I would have understood if like other clubs we had to loan due to financial fair play but we didn't need to. If he didn't want to be at saints we could have made at least £14million selling at £20million when you think how well he has done and how much better/versatile he is to lovren. Really annoying!

Sorry to say but Indi and toby at centre back would push us on as a club.

Don't get me wrong I'm as annoyed as all the other fans the way in which lallana went etc, however. You can't say that lallana who and how tadic is better, if we are honest lallana is the biggest loss out of all the outgoings he was a special player and did a lot for us before he got too big time and big headed. Finally not heard good things about the new defender gardos?!. apparently not very good at all and RK admits he made a mistake, think this will be another forren!

Agree with james Craig about fonte, not good enough, but after watching the game yest, we only have 4/5 who are and one is boruc! Yes Forster is a quality signing but was not as critical as another centre back or striker. Clyne and Bertrand are good enough, but two centre backs needed if we are to push on. Davis is very underrated and is good enough, we don't know about spider as of yet but obviously is good enough, wanyama is not a patch on jack cork and this confuses me as koeman is looking to start wanyama, JWP is good enough but I don't know if it's too early for him week in week out, tadic looks good no where near lallana though, saphic looked very good, Isgrove needs more confidence and will shine, gaston same old doses brill for 5 mins then gets lost, pelle doesn't look good enough, very good at holding up but that's it either needs a partner or shouldn't get into the team, but with jrod out there's no replacement. After yesterday's game going forward especially I fear the worst.
