Have we upset the Sun again? Their report today was a wee bit biased, I would say that I have lost respect for them but I never had any to begin with.

If it doesn't involve the top four teams then according to the sun it didn't happen. Awful populist rag

Boruc next to leave?

I guess if Fraiser comes in then I could not begrudge him one last move for a bigger paycheck, rather than being on the bench here

St Mark

1.) Final year of his contract, 34, decent earner, unlikely to sign a contract extension to be second choice.

It makes some sort of sense to cash in rather than lose him for free in 12 months, but Saints' lack of cover in goal last season cost them a wedge of points.

Playing with fire, I think. Forster (if he joins) could have a bad start, lose confidence, or pick up a serious injury and then what are they going to do? Davis and Gazzaniga aren't up to it.

2.) 02 Aug 2014 08:33:55
Quite agree after what Boric has done for us its a bit of an insult to try and another front line keeper instead we should be looking for a quality young stopper to develop for the future.
Sadly, Gazza, a lovely guy but not up to the required standard, we owe Gazza a good transfer for his efforts and loyalty however

3.) ^ we shouldn't buy someone young, we've got Cropper who looks like he'll turn into something decent and Gazza will be a top keeper one day, don't forget he only played about 20 games in league 2 before joining us, at the moment he just lacks the confidence to boss his box, send him out on loan for a couple of seasons and he'll be great

Boruc has done well for us but he's prone to the odd blunder and for us to push on we need someone better

Celtic lose 4-1, now they need to win 3-0 or 5-1 at home on the 6th to progress in the CL. Fraiser had a good game even though he let in 4!
without the CL Celtic should be more likely to sell.
Also BBC news says Rojo would be 16 million, IMHO that would be a great price for a player that has been a FM favourite of mine, not seen him play much other than the world cup, but then I had him in my dream team too, one of my better choices (Lallana you will NEVER be chosen again).
Could be set for some good signings before the Prem kicks off ☺

At present Saints must be the most profitable arm of the Mali group, the return on investment has been outstanding, why would you sell?
We have been run incredible successfully since the takeover, why would that change?
The way I see it we are going through a transitional phase, necessary in order to progress over the next five years.
Financially we cannot compete with the clubs above us last season, only a stadium move/expansion could put us on equal ground.
With the reinvestment of surplus funds into such a project we can become a European power, but until then we are starting 3 goals down each season. We will never be able to be a stable European club until our finances are tripled.

Of course the sales could be a disaster but why expect one when we have been run so well over the past 5 years?

However should we be struggling next season I'll join the masses in a very vocal protest 😠

I agree with both magiccabbage & chrisdownj. Looking at Osvaldo does show you take a risk with players who are either here for the money or have egos. I hope that we have learnt from that. Mercenaries is accurate but perhaps not polite, my point is that we can be the foot in the door for many players good enough for champions league football but not high enough on the list for a champions league club (that pays silly money to players). Our situation requires diligence.
I would love us to get an "old boy" or two, players with major experience at winning top prizes, my worry would be that they would be here for one last paycheck, depends on their personality. That said I think there are some who want an introduction to coaching, ex-captains too, they would be the ones I want. I love the thought of a big "global" name" arriving

imho Gudetti, if City will sell, would be a fantastic signing, RoKo can get the best from him, with a few games under his belt he should regain his Feyenoord form

Agree with you 100% Saint90. I think that all of this is a necessary part of the development of Saints from "provincial" club to "European" club. There comes a point where your team is almost good enough to compete for a top 6 place, we were almost there. Now our "star" players have proven that they have what it takes the "big" teams come sniffing.

IF ANY SAINTS FAN TELLS ME THEY WOULD NOT SWITCH WHERE THEY WORK IF THEY GOT TRIPLE PAY & A MILLION CASH I WOULD LAUGH IN THEIR FACE!!

It goes like this;
look after yourself
look after your family
look after your friends
look after your people.

Cheers
