I've seen a few people say about Townsend and I don't know why he has a couple of good games then you forget he's even on the pitch I think if we go for anyone from Newcastle then we should go for sissoko.

I'd take Wijnaldum over any other player at Newcastle. He showed at the start of the season that he's able to adapt very quickly and with him being one of very few shining lights in that Newcastle team, as well as being a versatile option (can play in the middle of the park, out wide or up top) imagine how much better he'd be with a better side around him.

Just a thought with Manchester United signing pogba does anyone else think a punt on bringing Morgan back to the club I for one would love to have him back.

I don't understand what is going on with our club Morgan is one of the best midfielders in the prem and could walk into any team I understand why he says he'll go if we don't get champions league because realistically it won't happen this year I'd be gutted to see him go but if he did I'd have no hard feelings towards him as far as I'm concerned he is a club great.
That said I've complete faith in Koeman hell fun someone who can take his place and will find someone to fill the hole of Forster we march on (would love it if Morgan reconsiders

I think you will find Morgan will make his own decision as and when he is ready to do so. Just because the media have tried to make a decision for him it does not mean HE has to reconsider anything.

To be honest the interview he has done with French media makes a number of fair points, and whilst some people might consider what he has said as arrogant, he owes the club nothing more after staying loyal this season. Personally I would prefer to see him move to another league rather than end up in an underachieving Arsenal team or an ageing Manchester City side.

The decision is not just Spiders. He is still under contract so if the Saints board decided that they'll not sell him there's little he can do about it. I don't for one minute think that the board would make him play out his contract because we would lose out on a fairly large transfer fee but to say that it's his decision alone is wrong. I would love to see him stay but I can also understand that he wants to play champions league football. I'm sure that RoKo is already looking at possible replacements for him and Clyne and he's almost certainly been looking at keepers too. Whatever happens over the next few weeks this season must be classed as successful especially if you look back to last July/ August when it looked like we would be fighting relegation by now. If we were to win our remaining games this season we could still scrape a champions league spot then Spiders reason for wanting to leave disappears

Hodgson's always been a bit of a joke. Nothing's changed.
Gibbs isn't first choice at Arsenal, Shaw isn't trusted at United, and Baines has just returned from injury.
Bertrand is first choice left back at a top-six side with the best defence in the league. It's not a hard decision to make.
Then again, Hodgson watched Kyle Walker put in one of the most inept defensive performances of all time against United last week and still called him up, so perhaps Uncle Roy doesn't value defensive attributes above what club you play for.
In other news, Harry Reed, Premier League midfielder, can't get a gig for the England U21s, who instead have picked a bunch of Championship players. I'm sure it all makes sense to someone.

I'd go with (and I hate to say it even more than your suggestions Chrisdownj) Poch. At least he was willing to give youth a try with us and now he is doing the same with Spurs and dropping the "big names" to the bench.

I know you say that speaking to an agent is allowed but how can that be tapping up the agent would go to his client and say look this team wants you surely that's when a players head turns and they start demanding moves.
{Ed002's Note - Of course not. Unless the player is a complete flake. Southampton like all clubs speak to agents to sound out if a player might be interested in a move.}

Good points but let's remember just because they're are older more experienced players in Europe doesn't mean they'll adapt to the prem it's a risk spending 15/ 20 mill on a player that might end up rubbish when we have eager youngsters waiting for the chance to shine.

Mane is a good player but is he really consistent enough for a top top team I agree sometimes he's amazing but he has some shockers and doesn't have a finish as often as he should I think if we get a bid of around 30 million we should take it.

I still think one more CB is a must gardos coming back but I think yoshida is a poor rb option and don't think he's right to play in a 3 CB line up.
