Just read that saints are set to rival LCFC for the signing of Ahmed Musa in €20 million offer. Personally been following this guy for along time. His scoring record is okay and improving but if are new manager Mr Puel likes to play high pressing counter a tracking football he'd slot straight in to are team I think we can get him as well. It'd show ambition from the board as well. To prove they still want Europe league football. ATM LCFC are favourites! But doesn't mean anything like we learned last year people want European football but are not always interested in coming to your club when it's your first season init. So it will be interesting to see if the club show that ambition and get this guy in. He literally the replacement we are looking for, for mane! He can play LW, Cam and RW. And in my opinion he is faster than mane, insane burst of energy and speed.

this story is nearly a week old. let's see what happens.

2.) 30 Jun 2016 13:08:09
Yea please the guy is a nightmare to defenses n yes he is in fact faster than mane and in my opinion he the perfect replacement for mane and the rumours linking us to ben arfa and him are the only things keeping me calm and trust the board its okay if ben arfa doesn't join but we NEED this guy! If we don't sign him i'd be really disappointed.

So there are rumours flying a round that KL is thinking of selling the club, supposedly to an Arab billionaire. That would be nice lol! But like I said this is just a rumour told to me by some who works for the club this isn't a back room staff though no1 big in the club just an employee. Probably rumours but it's interesting.

Wouldn't surprise me.

2.) 28 Jun 2016 19:40:54
I find that rather hard to believe. I wish!

So I've been going around different sites, reading what people are saying about ticket prices compared to other clubs not just in other countries but in England Aswell. Like season tickets prices. They also state we should expand. Now I'm just wondering what everyone's opinion is on it all I mean I for one personally feel £200 for season ticket price is enough I mean a lot of people still believe that ticket prices help the club well where is all the money club make going with all the avenues they have for profit, money from tv, kits, prem money all sorts of ways. Yet we still believe money from ticket sales really matters as much as it used to? Plus how do you feel about stadium expansion I personally believe we won't because of not being filled week in week out what do you guys believe.

1.) 21 May 2016 14:19:45
In truth I don't think every club fills the quota apart from good cup and league games. So if we had extra then on the good games we would fill it.
But I think it would only be for fans atmosphere and club stature, not for profit.

Bit of a rumour doing the rounds for you guys as well, I heard we are interested in a few players not sure if they are in fact true rumours but thought I'd let you know anyway.
Kondogbia
Samaris
Thomas (atletico)
Savic (atletico)
OX
Rudiger (Stuttgart)
Bahlouli
Tolisso
Stambouli
Praet
And
Izquierdo
These are literally names I've heard mentioned idk if any truth in it just a few names I've heard doing the rounds and thought I'd post.

1.) 14 May 2016 06:36:10
If we signed savic I would actually go and support pompey! Hahaha He is absolutely terrible. do you remember his city days.

2.) 14 May 2016 09:52:45
savic is part of the best defence in europe. surely he must have improved from those past days.

3.) 14 May 2016 14:55:02
Don't think he's a starter though is he? I'm just saying his time at city was awful, worst than. although Kevin de bruyne worked out alright so perhaps I'm being unfair.

4.) 15 May 2016 00:20:51
Savić has only really played against the small teams in La Liga and he's played very, very minimal minutes against big clubs, the only 2/ 3 of which he's played have been Barcelona, Bayern and Athletic Bilbao in which he's only played 184 minutes in 5 games. Most of the reason behind Atlético's amazing defensive record are their starting back 5 of Oblak, Juanfran, Giménez, Godín and Filipe Luís.

Off that list of players though, I'd probably only take Tolisso, Izquierdo, Rüdiger, Bahlouli and Samaris as realistic options (Rüdiger might even be a step too far with the season he's had on loan at Roma) .

5.) 15 May 2016 17:37:31
I was really impressed with Savic after leaving City. Its no doubt he found it difficult at 20/ 21 in the premier league, and was more than a little bit shaky, Since then he has matured a lot, went on to improve massive amounts at Fiorentina and is a starter for Montenegro. I think Savic is in the same situation as Alderwireld was that he has to compete for a starting spot against Godin and Jaunfran and two exceptionally decent youngsters in Jesus and Gimenez. Wouldn't be surprise if he moved on and hence the rumours.

Why is no one interested in Moyes. Like he was loyal to Everton for years! Played good football with Everton Aswell! Plus kept Everton in the top half of the league for how long? He will have more financial backing at saints than he did back in the day with Everton. Plus he knows the league so well. I think he'd be a great manager for us. Plus I think he'd stay for a long time so I guess for me he's the best option.

True_Saint

1.) 10 Jun 2016 15:35:24
We can do a lot better than Moyes. His negative style of football doesn't fit our profile anyways. He's good for a club who's objective is to retain top flight status or a cash strapped club that wants to sustain stability. If progress is really what the hierarchy at Saints want then surely they have other options in mind.

2.) 10 Jun 2016 20:58:24
I think what you are saying is more in terms of is time at United? And cash strapped club that's fighting relegation I don't remember Everton being in bad shape under him and what he did with little to no money as well shows a managers credentials. Don't always judge a manager on how successful they are! Fergy did nothing in his first five years as United manager. And was going to be sacked until he won his first trophy. The thing people seem to not realise is that Moyes is a very good manager that can carry club forward.

Negative style of play? I can certainly say that it isn't he hits teams on the counter which works especially utilising players like mane a long with there pace. I think he'd be the perfect manager to carry us forward. And he's a bloody loyal manager. Name me one manager who stays at a longer than the obvious candidates. Moyes is underrated. I'll put it this way Pep G is regarded as a great manager. Yet his teams have already been in place, yet he couldn't win the champions league with one of the best most well rounded teams in Europe in Bayern.

A really good manager can be and under dog going into a team like big CR at Leicester but look what he has. Moyes is unfairly spoken about by football fans. Who sit and believe they know what they are talking about fact of the matter is what he did at Everton was what got him the United job in the first place don't forget that. And he wasn't given a fair chance at untied and van gaal had same points in the same out if games in both years. So you tell me, where will you find a more loyal, well respect football manager that will stay true to the clubs plans.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 04:09:31
You didn't read my comment correctly, I said he fits a team who wants to stay in the league OR one who's cash strapped and looking to get some stability. I did not state whatsoever that Everton were relegation battlers during his tenure there, but it is common fact that they didn't have the spending power then than they do now under Moshri.
I never denied his loyalty or that he's a bad manager, I just don't think he's what the club needs right now. let's be honest here modern football has no place for loyalty. Moyes can lay foundations, yes. But what's the point in that when our club already has foundations laid. He struck me as a play it safe kind of manager, not one for teams that want to move forward. Just like allardyce at west ham. pp.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 11:15:12
The question is, do you really think Moyes is the man to take us to the next level? He did take Everton into the Champions League years ago and would have better funds, yet I'm still unsure.

07 Jun 2016 13:30:13
I don't believe in this bigger club rubbish let's be frank here. monaco are a big club in France but they have a small fan base! It's a shame Koeman is leaving but I do not for a second believe we are a so called small club, people look at our academy and want to copy it, they look at how our club is run and want to emulate it, they look at the players we have and want to buy them. In fact I see the last few years as the biggest in our progression, as a sign we are doing things right. Can it continue? Yes if we carry on pushing for success. What you guys don't realise is players won't leave for Koeman, in fact I've heard that Koeman upset a few big names and those so called players told the club it's Koeman or us. I personally feel nothing in terms of panic, I don't feel sad or angry anymore. I fact I'm excited to see if all those none believers proved wrong by saints again and we go and show them what we are. The more press and things we get the better the more admirers the better it's progress so let's get unai emery in and show our ambition.

True_Saint

1.) 07 Jun 2016 14:48:26
emery is meant to be holding out for athletico job next year. can see uses getting de Boer or pellgrini if koeman does come to everton. if you ask lot of everton fans thier first choice was emery he staying at sevilla.

06 Jun 2016 17:23:06
So Koeman has gone back on holiday? This is interesting. Idk what's going is he having a rethink or has he signed who knows. But I have realised there is honestly know point in being annoyed at these events. Saints will get a good manager in. Who will carry on pushing is forward. Just because a manager moves club doesn't mean he will succeed at that club. So let's see what happens and look forward to a new season.

True_Saint

1.) 06 Jun 2016 18:31:55
As someone else has pointed out we can't keep doing this. How are we supposed to sell the dream to anyone, player or staff. This in particular feels worse than anything to date. What could we of done more? We're in Europe, best points, best position squad looking solid, players signing extensions. then this. People are saying we shouldn't be held to ransom by money and if he wants out but someone somewhere has to give some clarity on what exactly has gone on here because otherwise we are not going to be hoping this doesn't happen every year, we will be expecting it. The board either have to come out and give us a true view of their plans or start bringing this club up to speed. Otherwise this will happen year in year out.

03 Jun 2016 15:22:29
If Koeman does leave there are honestly so many good mangers out there to take on. But in my eyes it's a sideways step. Koeman said he wanted to win something at saints? He said he'd see out his contact and blah blah blah! But if he does leave I believe it's because of the club, we do this year on year out and tbh the club is starting to annoy me how it allows this to keep happening. We are not poor, regardless of what papers say. We should be able to pay bigger wages. Yet we don't this is why we loss players. If LR means what he says by moving is in the right direction losing Koeman is is the wrong way to go!

Love the rumours of Liverpool wanting yet another Southampton player! I think it's hilarious they really are desperate. though I find it difficult to see why mane would leave for Liverpool when we are in the Europa league and they're not. I think he'll stay if I'm honest I just think he'll sign a new contract aswel if he doesn't though hopefully it won't be Liverpool he goes to.

I wouldn't believe that yet. Let's see what happens just because a paper says one thing doesn't mean it will happen. Players can switch look at willian.

well the thing with articles like that, they just state what they believe or have heard. There's no quote from Koeman or anything it's all speculation like when I pointed out a few names I had heard we were interested in its speculation nothing behind it. Plus I'm not worried over koemans future. I have gone through the last 3 summer transfer windows worried. I'm more relaxed these days. I really believe that Koeman will see out his contract and if he does I fully respect him I'd love for him to stay on at saints for a few more years but if he doesn't then I'm happy because he has given the club anothe platform and the more we build the better we will get and the better mangers and players the club will attract it's all slow progression. But done at the right pace we could be a force in the premier league for years to come.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, I hope so too! My back locked up yesterday from coughing so much. Ugh man flu, women do not realise how lucky they are that they only get sniffles and colds, while we get deadly variants unique to men.....}

Like ED said we are looking for abother defender! That I know for sure, after that I believe we will sign Another GK and hopefully we can get a cdm and winger. I've heard that Koeman wants a big summer signing, from what I get from his interviews Aswell. Though tbh like I said the other day loads of names thrown about but early days! No doubt they will be looking constantly at the moment the Ronald at the list they have and he'll be saying who he wants. I think 2 out 3-4 in don't need many.

I disagree with mane, he is very inconsistent. He actually hasn't had a great season. Yes granted he is playing well now but he went missing half way through the season. I'd say he'll be here another year before making a move if he does get his move that is. I only say that because yes he can change a game but its to inconsistent top clubs will want to see him perform on a consistent basis, he has the talent eye for goal and that pace to beat a player i'd say for him and it think a lot of people will agree (even if he wants a move) he should stay for a few more years perform on a consistent level and then leave. Having said that from what I hear he's happy here, was annoyed at lack of playing time from like Jan - March but is a lot happier now. I think Koeman has made an impression on him but then again I could be wrong.

I don't think people mean that he is going down hill I think the thing people are pointing out with fonte is, yeah he is a great player for the club and still getting better but the thing is nobody really knows when a player is going to start going down hill. I can happen at any age and anytime. People are also worried Gardos isn't good enough cover and we all know yoshida is defiantly not. So what I really think and IMHO I think fonte is still a great player with tons of passion for club and country do see him going down hill ATM no but it'd be good for the club to get someone who is good enough to challenge him and push for a starting spot not only will that make fonte work harder and maybe get even better performances it means we have good cover if he gets injured or if his form does take a dip. I think people are jumping the gun abit. But still have to ask the question at age 32 how long does he have at the top? Some can stay for years others can't.

In my personal opinion wanyama will struggle in England at the big clubs due to his lack lustre displays against teams that aren't the so called "Big Clubs" he never really tries against them don't get me wrong he doesn't play bad but he could easily put more effort in for a player of his standard. So I think he'll be played ever so often.

We don't often sell out and when we do there's still one or two empty seats. the thing is we all want a stadium expansion but don't want to end up like one of these clubs that have expanded but really don't fill it. So I'd say again slow progression and maybe if ticket prices ever get lowered then we can expand until that point I don't see the point if we don't fill it week in week out I agree with RK.
