Just read, Southampton have made a loan offer for Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan.
Now, that would be Great!
Don't know if that's aswell as any possible Promes deal or as a back up if the deal doesn't happen.
Can you verify this or add to it EDS?

donola Cocacola

{Ed002's Note - The interest is there in Gaitan.}

1.) 26 Jan 2018 10:42:43
Eds am reading Promes is going to reject us. Hence the Gaitan move. Have you heard anything?

{Ed002's Note - To be fair I can't see any reason for Quincy Promes to leave Spartak for Southampton.}

2.) 26 Jan 2018 10:39:07
Would way rather Promes personally. Extra pace which I think is what we lack, and younger. Seems like more of a long-term buy in our typical mould.

3.) 26 Jan 2018 11:02:17
Thanks Ed. Tend to agree with you.

4.) 26 Jan 2018 13:54:54
the reason for promes to leave spartak for soton is they are russias celtic win a league that is weak then get beaten by 7 by Liverpool. If he signs plays well he will be off in 18months for more money and won't have to put up with racist crap from his own supporters in the interim.

5.) 27 Jan 2018 05:05:14
I feel we can sign Promes and we are trying but I think if he was to accept to join our club, there would be a clause to be sold immediately if we did get relegated or missed out on Some other league and or FA cup targets. I hope he signs!

6.) 27 Jan 2018 08:43:42
I think for Promes it would be a smart move. UK is totally different country than Russia. Secondly, in Soton giants may notice you. Of course, he will be with us only for 18 or 30 months, but we have to accept that fact.

{Ed002's Note - So you think he should agree to 2 and a lf years in the widerness to be noticed by "giants"? A move to Southampton would make zero sense for him.}

7.) 27 Jan 2018 09:25:41
He would honestly probably be with us for less. The cons do outweigh the pros For him to join Southampton. But we can dream! What ever happened to leo baptisao? We still interested in him?

8.) 27 Jan 2018 10:27:14
Russian league very different from PL. Usually the giants want to make sure player can perform in the top league, before buying. You think it was a bad move for Mane as well to come to Southampton? And don't forget Russia is Rusdia for living.

9.) 27 Jan 2018 11:51:45
Just read a report where the media said Promes didn't want to join Southampton but his instagram account commented "false" suggesting he is interested!?

10.) 27 Jan 2018 12:33:40
Hi eds. Thanks for all the help I here. Do you believe the rumours coming our saying he does notbwantbto join are true. If so is it only gaitan as a potential other option or is there anyone else that we are looking at that's may be signed this month.

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of rumours but it makes little sense for him to move to Southampton, but we will see. It would take a significant offer to make something happen.

There is interest from several sides in Gaitan. A move might bring out the better side of his play which has been drifting away recently.}

11.) 27 Jan 2018 12:51:09
Thank you. I agree seems a strange move for him given our current position.

Someone it a similar style to him I think is Definately needed and would work well with the addition of carillo.

12.) 29 Jan 2018 14:42:44
Don't see why Southampton would be quite such a weird move for Promes. Sure, it seems like he could do a bit better and at least find a club of Everton's stature, but we've seen weirder things happen.

09 Dec 2017 07:48:28
Apparently, Saints have been watching and are very interested in FC Basel forward Mohamed Elyounoussi. Have you heard anything about this Eds?
I think only XXLs will be buying his shirt if he does join!

donola Cocacola

{Ed002's Note - Mohamed Elyounoussi has been watched by Southampton and Newcastle on a couple of occasions recently.}

1.) 22 Dec 2017 17:36:15
Just watched some u tube clips of him. But that's the only thing I can honestly judge him by. That said I wasn'toverly impress he seems to be another flashly player with little to offer in end product so in my view isn't right for us at this time.

If it was down to me in this up coming transfer window I try and sign Walcott on a free. Making the move in the summer when his deal with Arsenal has finnished.

Sale Shane long if possible for around 7 million. Other then that I don't think saint will do any bussiness in this window.

12 Nov 2017 17:40:27
Fernando Torres has apparently been offered to Saints on a loan deal, What do you guys think? Loved him at Liverpool, But since then, questionable.

donola Cocacola

1.) 12 Nov 2017 19:09:08
All day and night long.

2.) 13 Nov 2017 08:23:54
Cant see this one happening, wages for one would be to much and let's be honest what pace has Torres got lol, he is at the end of his carrer. We need pace up front. I just don't know why CA doesn't get a proper crack at it. The manager obviously doesn't fancy him. I would have CA up front with Gabbi behind. Watch the goals start flooding in!

3.) 14 Nov 2017 07:25:16
CA good finisher but pace really slight contradiction there. We need a target man we never replaces pele and need someone in the mood to hold up and bring others into the ball from midfield. Buy it give Sam a chance. If u want pace bring olufelo back.

4.) 14 Nov 2017 08:28:00
Contradiction! CA would be faster then torres LOL!

5.) 14 Nov 2017 08:31:09
CA could be a traget man! we just need to start using him, and I don't me 5 minutes at the end of a game!

21 Feb 2017 06:39:32
Apparently, Barcelona are watching Cedric Soares, they have him on their list of potentials to solve their full back problems since Alves left. ( source, telegraph)

Everton are looking to sign Cuco Martina.

donola Cocacola

1.) 24 Aug 2016 03:58:22
I don't mind. Is backup level at Saints like Yoshida.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 11:31:49
If you could name me a CB who's not only better but is willing to sit on the bench most weeks and is as much of an influence on the dressing as Yoshida, I'd love to hear it!

3.) 24 Aug 2016 15:23:23
Florin Gardos, LOL :)

4.) 24 Aug 2016 20:09:04
A Good Steady back up player. you rarely get a Top Class Back up player, cause they wouldn't be back up :)

5.) 24 Aug 2016 22:38:03
I don't understand why the player would want to leave. Yes I get that we have 2 RB likely to be picked over him, but Everton have coeman? He still won't get games ahead of him. Also RK signed him for saints and barely played him so he obviously isn't that much of a fan? Surely with our European competition he is more likely to get games here. Unless he is to koeman what Paul telfer was to strachan.

Got a feeling. 3 Central Defenders are going to happen . If So, will be happy, allows 3.5.2 or 5.3.2 ; allowing instant flexibility during a game.

donola Cocacola

1.) 17 Sep 2017 10:13:00
Maybe. It makes sense, it's now our strongest position you would feel. Although I think part of the reason VVD came on was for MP to prove a point that he's still our player/ to waste time.

26 Aug 2017 09:01:28
Very Bored with this now. Loan Van Dyke out to a major club 5-10 million a season for 2-3 years with 100% wages paid, let him play and improve else where. Then sell him for God Knows how much in the future. All parties Benefit. Order restored :P.

donola Cocacola

{Ed002's Note - You sound like a Liverpool supporter. They don't understand about transfers either.}

1.) 26 Aug 2017 10:01:44
Fair Enough.
. I did put 'tongue in cheek' :P at the end.

13 Aug 2017 08:07:43
Just read an interesting article proposing the following, If Saints beat off Celtic to the loan signing of Man City's Patrick Roberts. How about Josh Simms being sent to Celtic on loan, would work well for both parties in my opinion. Simms would probably get a lot more game time, Celtic will get an exciting talent.

donola Cocacola

1.) 13 Aug 2017 11:24:00
Loaning out sims would make sense if Roberts does come, but I'm not too keen on getting Roberts on loan in the first place.

2.) 14 Aug 2017 13:35:41
Impressed with Steve Davies comments today. Whatever we all think of VVD the players would welcome him back.
It's looking more unlikely Liverpool will risk an investigation and put a bid in so it leaves Chelsea but he doesn't fancy them and even more so after their performance at the weekend and whatever is going on behind the scenes.
If we can ride it out for a few more days think he may reconsider. It was only the first game and we didn't concede! Promising signs and next game West Ham will be low in confidence., Need to make home advantage count this time:

26 Dec 2016 09:56:23
Who the hell looked at the fixture schedule and thought " that looks fair" . 3 games in 117hours.
We play Wednesday, not monday or even Tuesday.
we play WBA on saturday who would have had a 5 day break, then meet Everton on monday who would have played on the Friday.

Have been dealt the worst fixture break out of everyone in the league, Chelsea for example (no europe) 3 games in 220hours.

? Perplexing.

1.) 26 Dec 2016 11:43:32
Blame sky they pays the big money they call the shots like it or not and if we got grudge games against they gona want it on telly.

I am generally embarrassed, Have just listened to Our song for Europe.

donola Cocacola

1.) 08 Sep 2016 20:45:29
We should adopt the catchphrase from Dragon's Den as our European slogan .

" i'm out "

2.) 09 Sep 2016 18:19:04
I believe gtsaint has been nominated for the "most pessimistic supporter" award. Rumours have it that the books have closed at all betting agencies.

Figo, agree with everything u said. I was working on Sunday, had to listen to game on the radio, right from the off, all I could hear was the Liverpool fans, even the commentators said about it . so maybe blame the manager or the players (that's easy) . or for those in the stadium, at home to Liverpool, maybe take some Blame yourself. It was home to Liverpool for christ sake.
And please don't reply with "The team need to give us something to sing about" . Its your Team . Try giving the players something to play for, encourage when they are down and things are not going right.

'bailey', I think Hoedt is/ was Van Dyke's long term replacement.
** Have just read Saints are trying to tie up a £50m double swoop for Quincy Promes and Guido Carrillo.
Not holding my breath, but could be the NEW Pelle and Mana combo?

I read and posted a few weeks ago, that he had actually been offered to Southampton . How true this is I don't know? Torres ( I hate to Say) was one of my all time favourite players to watch when at Liverpool, Majestic and Lethal and for that reason only, would welcome the signing.

My thought. I would like to see Gabbiadina play up front with Charlie Austin, 3 at the back, 2 attacking backs, 3 man midfield, and 10 up front :)

I don't think there is too much to worry about . My opinion is that the Premiership is just so much tighter these days, All Teams are getting better, so we cannot compare ourselves from 2-4 years ago to the present, Just look at Burnley, Watford who would have thought! Totally disagree with a change of manager. that's just rubbish, We create chances in 'most matches' but we don't finish. that's not the managers Fault surely? . However, If the powers of Bee decided on a change, I would welcome back Nigel Adkins, unfinished business and harshly sacked. He's a player's manager!
