I just want to say something that I when say out loud sounds madness considering some of the results we've had and that is . For me I believe Ralph Hasshenutle is untouchable.

Don't get me wrong every manager can have their faults, but what I mean is, in the wake of certain results and recent run I think some around the world would consider that stackable. However for me the idea has never once entered my mind. When Ralph has the players he needs to field the way he wants to play you can see that it works. Depth is an issue, along with circumstances and VAR.

If we found ourselves in similar results situation with puel, pelliguno or hughes I wouldn't be saying this. With Ralph though it's different.

#InRalphItrust.

It’s time to take stock. Various reporters bumming us up when we are playing like a bottom three. team. International PLAYER status ( 8 ) count for nothing when week after week we are outplayed and outwitted by well structured teams without many recogniseable players. Whilst we have endured many injuries and poor ref. decisions it’s time to weed out overpaid pretenders for next season. Maybe Ralph could do with the shared support of a sharp no.2 to discuss substitutions player selection tactics etc. Future plans need to be activated right now in order to progress next season.

2.) 25 Feb 2021 13:21:31
I believe a shake up of his coaching team is needed. I totally agree a stronger No2 may be required.

Untouchable? - No, but who would replace him? The only one I thought of was Benitez.

Any thoughts?

3.) 25 Feb 2021 16:07:16
I think you’ll find Ralph is someone who likes to make the decisions. He stands up the whole game and very rarely consults his coaching staff! He doesn’t even stand near his coaching staff! Richard K the assistant is a very knowledgeable and experienced man.

4.) 25 Feb 2021 16:12:33
Overpaid pretenders : one standout pretender is Redmond, to be playing him upfront is bizarre.
Not quite good enough - sadly I think Bertrand is past his best by quite a way.
Stephens - simply not good enough

The bednerek and vestergard partnership worked very well, but now Salisu is on the team sheet, that partnership is gone.

Godamn all season I've been asking to get Josh Sims in.

What happens when we do? Man of the match and we beat Tottenham 😎

Now please give the boy a decent run so that we can have a decent run.

Ok I feel I need to say that which noone seems to be talking about .

That Alex McCarthy isn't actually that good 🙌. Before anyone goes mental yes I am, like most, grateful he stepped in and helped us a bit when we needed him. However I feel the reason why so many think he's amazing is that we had to endure Forster's antics for so long that easy shots that should have been saved became wonder saves when McCarthy did them simply because he kept them out.

Point being, given a regular run in the team next season were get to see how regular he is, not as bad as Forster can be but not a decent premier league keeper either, just regular. Whether that will be enough or not were see 🤔😋.

1.) 07 Jul 2018 14:43:54
He won't cost us as many points like Fraser did. And are you implying that any other keeper than Forster can make the saves McCarthy made? Guaranteed? Even so, the difference which he brought wasn't solely on the saves he made but also the presence he brings. He gets down better than big FF, he actually comes out for his crosses as well. He deserves his chance to start this season as first choice and the fact that you're already downplaying him before the season even begun is unmerited. I don't even see the point of this post to be honest. He's hardly done anything wrong so far.

2.) 07 Jul 2018 19:11:29
Let’s not forget how awesome Forster was when he joined us. He had a career threatening injury in his first season which obviously adversely affected him in his confidence and decision making. Let’s hope a loan move will give him a spring board back to his form when he joined us and ultimately then give the manager serious goalkeeping options.

3.) 07 Jul 2018 20:13:58
Not sure. To be fair I use to be Forster's No1 fan but think at first he use to terrify attackers with his presence. After a while teams figured he couldn't get down low and that was the end of him really. Like you say thouy hope he manages to somehow get past it.

4.) 08 Jul 2018 12:13:47
I don't agree with that, I thought McCarthy was excellent last season. If he can replicate that, then I'd have no worries. On the other hand, there is always a chance he regresses back to the keeper he's always been, which is more of a backup.

5.) 09 Jul 2018 12:49:00
I think the comparison of the two keepers is ridiculous. They are completely different types of keeper. Fraser great point blank shot stopper Alex all round excellent goalie. The reason in my opinion Fraser appeared to be so good when he arrived was that he hardly had a shot to save due to the superb back four in front of him, AM has done nothing wrong so far, I’m happy he is between the sticks.

6.) 09 Jul 2018 13:36:14
I don't agree. FF was poor for some time, given chance after chance and eventually dropped. AM has come in and has been given one chance, that he has taken. Would be delighted with Gunn but AM is first choice for me.

7.) 09 Jul 2018 14:18:55
I wasn't sure about AM at first. But he did all the simple stuff we were begging FF to do. Catching crosses, commanding his box, holding the ball and actually making some unbelievable saves in the last few games. Now will it continue? Who knows, but from what I've seen if him as a goalkeeper. I've got no worries right now about his ability. even if he does just do the basics well.

8.) 10 Jul 2018 11:50:03
If we will sign Gunn, I think we have the best GK duo since Niemi and Jones!

I've screenshotted your names so in a couple I'd months or so we're see how things are and then won't be able to hide and deny what you said. I can't stand fickle fans

Marathon not a sprint.1 game does not a season make. Let's judge at the close or at least give it 10 games.

2.) 21 Aug 2022 00:20:46
I think you should check your attitude Lesley. I’m very happy to listen to your views but this is a collegiate forum where Saints fans can share views and thoughts in a positive manner.

That doesn’t mean we have to agree with one another and that’s what makes the forum enjoyable to contribute to.

However, to come out with emotive rubbish like “I can’t stand fickle fans” is inappropriate and let’s you down.

I don’t welcome that personalised type of comments and far prefer a mature and reasoned discussion.

So I ask you to be a little more respectful otherwise I am out of here. Learn to disagree without being disagreeable. Thank you and maybe we can pick this up in a more positive way in the weeks to come.

3.) 21 Aug 2022 03:29:41
Count Me In For A Mugshot!- My views are very similar to those of most Posters on this Forum. My main concern is also for the well-being of Our Club.south hants rich has obviously also picked up on the difference in substitutions (players required and timings)brought about in the last two matches by Our Coaching Staff which we haven’t witnessed in the last 3 years.which has provided a positive result on the game. ( what a coincidence )!With reference to the Manager’s reported differences with key Players’ is of major concern and I trust that the Club does not suffer whilst any outstanding issues are resolved. The most important advantage for our Players to evolve from this match with a pretty average Leicester Side is that we were given plenty of time and opportunity to play our way into the game continually building up our confidence and self belief which rendered the team an entirely different outfit to the one that started the game.! Finally the travelling supporters wer tremendous!

I think I speak on behalf of many posters that we would be delighted to be proved wrong about Ralph. If he can turn this squad into a team which can compete for one of the fringe Europe spots or even decent mid table position, then fantastic.

However, as pleased as I am with the win and the performance today, It’s a step in the right direction - no more. Let’s have this conversation when we break for the World Cup and see how much our views change then - or not.

I would love it, really love it if I’m proved wrong!

2.) 20 Aug 2022 19:29:38
To Lesleylee
Did you watch the game? Just like against Leeds, Ralph was hassled into making changes by his new assistant! Do you think two weeks in a row of making let substitutions is a coincidence? He never got in right for season after season .

3.) 20 Aug 2022 19:36:29
Couldn't agree more we played a Leicester side on their knees with players wanting out but you have to beat teams when there down and the reaction from saint's was superb I was happy with 4/5 points from first 5 games so well on par for me coyr

4.) 20 Aug 2022 22:03:36
From me, I really like Ralph as a person, but his managerial prowess is yet to be cemented in his stay with Saints. I (like Millertime) would love to see this kick on to something great, but it is only one game. I respect the fact he has been given time as many managers don’t get that, but he has to do something with that time.

We have had many false dawns with Ralph, so I for one can’t suddenly change my point of view because of one game. Sadly he has ‘cried wolf’ a few times and got us thinking it was all going to change, but sadly not.

I really really hope this is that change and we do improve. Time will tell.

5.) 20 Aug 2022 22:09:03
Also being fickle means to frequently change your loyalties or affections. My loyalty and affections are to the club and that is not in question.

6.) 21 Aug 2022 09:03:25
I watched all of the game yesterday, Leicester were by far the better team for 55 minutes. Our coaching assistants were talking to RH and showing him boards as soon as Maddison scored, RH seemed to listen and Adams was brought on followed by Armstrong and the rest is history. Great result and I was happy with the performance, marked improvement from the last 10 games and players seemed to know their positions and responsibilities. It was only after the game when RH stated that Djenepo is definitely a defender that I realised my confidence in future performances started to dwindle. I’m afraid RH has to go, the team needs fresh ideas. Romeu, Bednarek, Stephens and Walcott are all close to leaving, go get Brandon Williams on loan then at least we’ll have cover at right and left back.

7.) 22 Aug 2022 10:01:27
What about replacing Ralph with our new #2? He certainly has the right ideas and seems to be making much more of an impact after 3 games than Ralph did in 3 years.

Been in hospital so had no idea about caballaro coming in for McCarthy.

Even at 40 he can't do any worse, who knows maybe were finally stop losing/,giving away leads with someone else between the sticks.

McCarthy is rubbish.

To anyone saying Ralph needs to leave needs a reality check, he's been one of our best managers, definitely during the post-poch/koeman era.

What you guys aren't looking at is the dodgey boardroom. I don't think they care too much for the club, just looking to make a quick buck and when they do they're offload onto someone else. With that in mind can't really blame Raplh if his hands are tied. Also previous managers had the wealth of our youth pool, which has all but been ran dry now (not many youth talents in a while) so has to work with what he has. Bringing livermento in for the price they did was genius.

The only issue I will say is the keeper situation. I think maybe Ralph and the board looked at it and thought ok 'weve got 2 ok keepers, we don't need to worry' .but for me that's the one place for a long time that's needed changing. For the mean time at least play Forrester! McCarthy is and always has been crap, only ever saves what's shot right at him. Sort the keeper situation and your see a different team .and watch everyone loving Ralph all again

I remember once there were a collection of saints fans calling McCarthy for England ., I bet those are the same people calling for Raplh to leave. No clue

If you think the only problem with Ralph’s team selection is the goalkeeper, I’m not sure you’re watching the same team?
His team selection, tactics and substitutions are awful!

2.) 27 Nov 2021 15:20:57
Not all, sure he doesn't always get things right but you can see with Raplh he's got a good grasp of the team, how to build it, where it needs to go.

People like you are why we end up getting rid Ralph and ending up with guys like Claude puel and Mauricio Pelligrini

06 Feb 2021 15:56:19
So tired, tired . of people thinking Mccarthy is a good keeper. Been saying since say day one he can't do anything unless the ball is shot at him. Forster is starting to find form and confidence again. He NEEDS to be given a start.

lesleyleeroooy

1.) 06 Feb 2021 16:59:16
Definitely agree, he should be the first name on the sheet next game.
