A few media outlets talking about saints scouts watching Real Madrid wonderkid Odegaard. Talk of him potentially coming on a loan to develop with our squad and pedigree. Would be a MASSIVE coup and kudos for the club if Madrid allowed this!!

Real would have noticed how Toby has come on whilst on loan from Athletico with great interest. Saints have one of (if not the best) academy's in the world and have a great record on bringing in the youngsters. This young footballer wouldn't harm his career by coming over on loan for next season. burnley up on Saturday and nothing but a win should be achieved if Saints play like they did against Chelsea.Top 6 finish or better is possible if we play the last 9 matches like we stated the season. EDs. if MoPo was sitting down with the board yesterday, then when do we expect to know one way or the other? I know its not an instant thing, but surely they have had some chats leading up to now so they have a fair idea of what is likely to happen?!

MoPo would have to be insane to take up the Spurs job. It's a poisoned chalice.
Separately, I do not think in any way that simply receiving bids is depressing. If anything, it emphasises our achievements this season. It will only be depressing if we accept them.

4.) I think it's all down to the board, if they show commitment to the dream early. By showing a mission statement, buying well, spending wisely to build on what we have achieved.
This action will keep us together, everybody at the club wants to see the dream come true and they will all stay another season, to see how far we can go. If this doesn't happen I can see a mass exodus.
But fear not, we will still have a club, to love, it is us the supporters who are The Saints, we are the heart and soul. No matter where we play, who plays for us, who runs us, we stay true. We've seen it all before, yet we're still here. COYR!
5.) The rumour is that the scheduled meeting between the board and MoPo DID NOT take place yesterday.
6.) This from the Adam Lallana interview last week with the Daily Echo, I think it sums up my view in the earlier post
“There will be decisions made in the summer on what kind of route the club will take in terms of whether we really do push on and go again and look to really improve.

Lallana is adamant the base is already in place for success, and that the players have proven it.
7.) There is no doubt at the quality of lallana and shaw but why havnt other clubs entered the bidding. let's hope they stay but my guess is saints want to balance the books.
8.) Most fans haven't a clue at the cost of running the club. They should cap wages, agents fees and change the Bosnian ruling. Although its their own fault there are clubs over 150 million in debt so don't knock saints owners if they get high bids for players just make sure there a sell on clause if they go.

I can't get past this.
Surely the club knew as well as we did that there was a big chance that MoPo would leave the club this summer. SURELY they were already digging around looking to see what was about so they could hit the ground running.
i wasnt surprised when he left, so neither should they have been.
i expected to have the new manager named within days. now we see things like 'saints board start to look for new boss' or 'have started to write up a short list'. F**K me, we should already have a shortlist, interview them all the day after MoPo left and have the new bloke in by last fri to tell Liverpool to stick their SRL bid and AL/DL won't be joining either.
by the time the WC starts we may have gone from 3 saiants players proudly in the England team, to ZERO.
I just can't see how the board can let ALL of our talent go. unless people are right n KL is assest stripping in preperation.
1.) A very pragmatic attitude as well saint newy. A football-ing management team would have been proactive and done similar to what you have mentioned, we unfortunately don't have that anymore since Cortese left.
For me it's a number of possibilities, the main one being that the board what to cash in on the team and are overly optimistic that youth will replace these players, and we know this won't be the case.
I don't see how we are going to attract a high-calibre manager with a public whole sale of our best players continuing. We've had Moyes connected to the vacant post and well that would be madness IMO.
So who's Saints Fans preferred next manager?

HOW can we, a football club, produce our own kit at "short notice" (6months before season), yet Adidas etc cannot?!
Definitely want a better quality shirt but would be nice to have something that makes our shirt stand out from other teams with stripes.

I really like the Under Armour gear. The training gear is great n a bit different.
Would mean we get a unique or at least different kit to all the other striped teams.

Am I correct in that he will now still get his "loyalty" payments from the career defining 5 yr contract that he saw out a year of?! i'm a big fan but surely saints have viided that in some way. Would almost suggest the same for Shaw.
OR was that one of the reasonw for signing big long contracts, so that the club could ask for shed loads if clubs came in for them?!
He would be great pairing with DL.
If we go in for any more of their players tho, they might start to think of Saints like a Liverpool to us. Keep nicking all their players. ha

as everyone is saying, of all the chat, MoPo is the most important one to keep as if we lose others, he will attract replacements.
secondly Corky is a massive player for us to keep. would be stupid to let him go. been great again this season, I prefer him to VW (who is decent but my god he makes stupid challenges and cannot pass to save his life).
