According to the Sun we are talking to Olympiakos about Omar Elabdellaoui. Don't know much about him but RH must know him.

Seeing that Genk do not want to let Maehle go until the end of the season as not to disrupt their title challenge, this could be a stop gap signing, maybe a loan until the end of the season? He was on loan at Hull during their relegated season admittedly during the January window, which coincidentally coincided with their brief upturn in form at the time. Other than that haven't heard much of him other than his defending is often suspect.

2.) 30 Jan 2019 15:39:08
Just what we need then Vick, another suspect defender 🤔.

3.) 31 Jan 2019 13:30:45
He is a Norwegian international right back, who I think it fair to say has not fulfilled his potential to date. however, his style of play would seem to fit the hassenhutle blueprint and perhaps one that ralph could get the best from. …. certainly good cover and competition for valer the two of them could bring out the best in other. …. incidently I thought Valery took a step up in performance against palace last night.

4.) 31 Jan 2019 17:36:17
Loads of out goings nothing coming in bit of a anti climax window but we’re playing well so that’s all we can ask for
We have a few loans that will return in the summer and I think Ralph will get the best out of them
Our team now will be fitter and more switched on to his style so who ever comes back will hopefully just fit in.

5.) 31 Jan 2019 20:49:42
Can’t see anything doing now.
Disappointed that we didn’t end up bringing anyone in but to get rid of Hoedt, Davis, Cedric and Gabbiadini is still good business - considering only Forster and Austin would have been the other deadwood it’s a success in terms of outgoings.
Moving Cedric on without signing a replacement is my only cause for minor concern. I feel like we’re set well for the summer and I trust that Ralph will have plans to move early in June.
If Boufal and Carrillo are moved on I’d be wishing for a ST, AM, CB and RB, part-funded by selling Lemina.

Well Fulham, Burnley and Newcastle all had good results tonight. We really need to get 3 points tomorrow night.

It would be awesome to get the three points tomorrow and go six clear of danger but even if we don’t win either of our games against in form Palace and Burnley sides, the home game against Cardiff is the big one for me - potentially deciding between being 7/ 8 clear or within a point of relegation.

They’re all kind fixtures on paper however all three sides are playing well - the good news is none of them are exactly form teams who can string several good results together and I’d expect 4-6 points from those games.

We never seem to beat Palace at home especially in recent memory - all those I recall are high scoring losses in midweek - 1-2 last season and 2-3 a few seasons before that IIRC. I’m obviously hoping for (not quite expecting) a win, but wouldn’t be overly disappointed with a draw.

I see that Brentfords Ollie Watkins has been mentioned as a possible Saints target. Seems to be a decent player but not sure about his obvious dive to earn a penalty against Barnet.

Not expecting miracles today but hoping to see a vast improvement, especially in defence. I'd like to think that we can get a point although Arsenal are playing really well at present.

Absolutely awesome! Awesome awesome awesome! Love Ralph’s passion, love the players’ passion, love the crowd, love the club! That’s the kind of result we’ve needed for about two seasons, can’t remember the last time we beat a big club at home - seeing Ralph and the players on the pitch at the end was amazing, what an appointment! Now a win next week at Huddersfield will be just as big and really give us momentum into our tricky run, another 6/ 7 points by the end of January will do for me 👌🏼.

2.) 16 Dec 2018 15:42:02
Amazing. felt we could get something, but the passion on and off the pitch was amazing. At Mary's was rocking again, welcome back.

3.) 16 Dec 2018 17:41:43
A well deserved win well over due on wards and up wards
Fare play Ralph.

Can't see Brighton getting any points from their last 5 games the way they're playing. Cardiff have 2 very winnable games so I wouldn't be surprised if Brighton get relegated. At least it's looking pretty good for Saints now.

1.) 17 Apr 2019 00:24:07
Hi teejay

I think you are right, Brighton are in freefall and they are away to wolves and spurs next and they can't buy a goal! You have to hand it to Cardiff let's just keep working so we can just look at what's going on at a safe distance! Mind you I didn't hear Warnock saying Brighton should have had a penalty! Coyr.

2.) 18 Apr 2019 10:08:54
At best, Brighton are getting 4 - even that’s ridiculously unlikely. Cardiff could get 4/ 6, and I personally would love them to stay up - they’ve had a difficult year, not had the rub of the green especially against Chelsea, and I find Warnock quite entertaining - would love to see him argue against VAR next season. Also I hope that next season they’d be an easy 6 points.

At worst we need a win, I reckon we’re going to get 7 more points, hopefully finish 13/ 14th with momentum into next season.

3.) 18 Apr 2019 17:12:56
The way we're playing I can see us beating Newcastle, Watford, Bournemouth, West Ham and Huddersfield. Be a brilliant end to the season if we could finish with 5 straight victories.

4.) 19 Apr 2019 00:32:59
That’s the kind of positivity I like to see 😎. Finishing unbeaten from here would be great, and I guess is something we should be expecting to do next season, so why not start now!

5.) 19 Apr 2019 10:32:46
I've supported Saints through thick and thin, ups and downs for over 55 years and I always try to look on the bright side. The only time I almost gave up was when Mark Hughes was trying to ruin our club but with RH coming in like a breath of fresh air I'm in love with Saints again. I hope we give Ralph a decent transfer fund and allow him to get the club back to where we belong. With a full pre season and a few new faces I can see us having a massive year.

Nice to see that Hoedt wants to stay at Celta Vigo next season. Perhaps they'll even give us a few quid for him.

27 Feb 2019 14:06:31
Tonight could be make or break for Saints. Lose and we're in all sorts of bother. Nothing less than 3 points is acceptable. We need to pull clear of Cardiff tonight as we have some very difficult games approaching. Hopefully Brighton continue on their downward spiral as that gives us another team to aim for. Apart from those 2 everyone else seems to be pulling away from us. Getting close to squeaky bum time.

West Ham and Watford doing us a favour tonight. If we can get a point against Arsenal we'll be in a better place.

Think it’s us or Cardiff to join the other two looking at fixtures alone. I hope that 93rd minute winner doesn’t come back to hurt us in May.

Just like to say that the 2 fans? making aeroplane gestures towards the Cardiff fans need to be banned for life .

Cahill, Drinkwater, Schurrle and Dzeko are too old in my view. Not sure about Toloi and Nakajima but I like the look of Goiginger. I like the look of Kalvin Phillips who I think I'm right in saying can play centre back as well as defensive midfield but would Leeds want to sell especially as it seems like they may be in the Premier league themselves next season.

Adams gone a bit quiet last couple of weeks but still rate him. With Birmingham struggling and could even be relegated he could be available for less than originally thought. Can't comment on Mearhle as I've not seen much of him.

I agree with pretty much everything you say Milky. I would love to see Boufal back provided that he has grown up a bit and has a better attitude. Maybe Ralph would get him into the right frame of mind. Lemina can do a good job for us when he's in the mood but he seems to have too many off days. We definitely need a good striker in and Austin, Long and Carillo sold. Bednarek is our best central defender by far and we need another in to play alongside him. I agree that Yoshida and Vestergaard are good back up options. Left side of defence pretty good but back up needed for Valery. I also agree with shipping out McCarthy and Forster and bringing in a younger keeper to back up Gunn. I see your point about Lallana but I really don't think that I would want him back nor do I think that he would take the sort of drop in wages required to rejoin us. I'm hoping that Ralph has a couple of players in mind that he feels will fit with his way of playing. Everything is hypothetical at the moment of course as we are not guaranteed to be playing premier league football next season yet but yesterday's result and Chelsea's lucky smash and grab at Cardiff has given us a little breathing space. Hopefully pick up a couple more wins and we'll be safe. Really looking forward to a full season under Ralph.

I still think that we can hit the magic 40 points. 3 wins and a draw from our last 8 games is more than possible. Huddersfield and Fulham already have one foot in the championship so it's down to one of 4 in my opinion as I still think that Brighton could slip up. If we keep playing like we did against United and second half against Spurs I'm sure that we'll be OK.

I feel sorry for JWP as he should have been called up but I agree with saintjay . 3 weeks training with the rest of the squad with RH getting them all both physically and mentally fit for the last few weeks of the season will be better for Southampton FC and us as fans. Hopefully 3 wins and 2 draws from our last 8 games.

RH has certainly brought the best out of him but I think that's true of all our players. His man management skills are second to none. I'm sure if Hughes was still in charge we would be fighting Huddersfield for bottom place.
