Been a sad day for Saints fans. Great business for the club in terms of the transfer fees, but never nice seeing two of your own walk out the door, especially after Lambert went as well. Fingers crossed Koeman uses the money well and swiftly to bring in some top replacements before pre season. I have faith Reed and Koeman know what they're doing. COYR

Hi Eds. I've read a lot of rumours since Koeman's appointment that Virgil van Dijk is one of our main targets. Is there any truth in the rumour or is it merely lazy journalism built purely on the fact he's dutch?
Having watched some videos of him, he looks a really good footballing CB. Great distribution and brings the ball out of defence superbly well when space opens up. Would definitely fit into our style of play if it were to happen.
1.) Koeman is apparantly a fan of him and watched him when he was at Gronigon so maybe a link there, I worry as he has looked good in the SPL, he will be tested a lot more in the prem against Aguero then Kris Boyd, but maybe up to standard and certainly has potential

Anyone heard any more on the Koeman situation? There's a lot of contrasting rumours floating around currently. Rocket, is an announcement still likely to happen before the weekend or should we expect further delays taking us into next week?

Hope you've all seen that Lallana's best mate (and best man at his wedding) has stated on his twitter that there is no chance Adz is going to liverpool anytime soon, stating that he's 'Saints through and through'. Not exactly a absolute guarantee but great to see people close to Lallana are saying he isn't leaving
1.) Honestly, I think family will keep him here, his and his wife's family are all local and with a couple of young kids I can't see them wanting to move all that way. London probably, manchester/liverpool I doubt
2.) Hope it's true. But he's not from Southampton or a childhood Saints fan. Dangler millions of pounds in front of his eyes and his mrs eyes etc, then heads can turn. Having said that, if I had to choose which of our players I expect to be loyal it would be him and Rickie at the top. But I do believe it's down to the board to show ambition. Let's hope.
I heard Koeman's first press conference has been arranged for a week today (Friday 11th July). I have a feeling it will all get announced next week with the manager/presenting 2-3 new players at the first press conference. Hopefully it is Pelle, Tadic and maybe a LB. Would be a good statement to present all three as clear replacements for Lambert, Lallana and Shaw. Loving the new Kit by the way. COYR
If we've sold Lallana for £25 million and replaced him with for Tadic €12 and Witsel for £14. 5 i'll actually wet myself with joy.
May need some significant strengthening at CB even if Lovren stays. Big Ron loves a 5-2-1-2 so having a strong pool of CBs is imperative. Would be a great signing.
Good. Once he had decided he wanted to leave it was always best for the club to shift him out ASAP for the best price. Now the remaining players can focus on pre season and Reed can concentrate on strengthening. Definitely didn't want this dragging on any longer. COYR
Shame. couldn't think of a better back up striker than someone like Ings. A young, home grown talented striker, with bags of potential who is a boyhood Saints fan. Probably not good enough to be our main man but would be a great squad player
