I see his profile is back up on the OS. Hopefully its just a matter if paperwork now. Having lived abroad for a number of years myself in various countries these issues can take ages to be processed.
1.) It's all sorted and he's good to go, happy days as will be a quality player for us and add some needed pass.

Anyone know if Mane's work permit is sorted now? I expected an interview on the OS with him by now.
1.) Conspiracy theories abound that he's another Taider. Profile taken off the OS, nothing heard from him or about him since Koeman was hopeful of including him in the squad for NUFC, taking in to account his work permit application / stamp in Ghana. Maybe nothing more than waiting for the green light on his work permit before officially introducing him properly?

Jordy Clasie being linked again by a lot of dutch media. Apparently missed training today too. I thought he was going to Porto? Could be something in it?
1.) Feyenoord have stated that he will not being leaving this summer but we all know every club and player has a price.
2.) Certainly the type of player we desperately need!
3.) IF we did get clasie. would we be willing to do a swap plus cash with townsend and spider?

11.) Schneiderlin needs to be sold now to maximise income, whilst negotiating a deal for Townsend; I understand talks continue between Spurs and Saints.
Unfortunately, Southampton painted themselves into a corner with a (albeit vague) declaration that Schneiderlin wouldn't be sold.
Clasie would be an excellent signing but there isn't that much money to spend, despite what some naive people think.

Naive? we have the 5th richest owner in english football but she is not willing to put her hand in her pocket. she wants $ out of us. we netted 200m from sky transfers and our 8th place. we have put back 40m whilst ruining the fantastic relationship the squad had. the only reason why spider hasn't been sold is because his "premium value" (which every player at SFC has) is 27m. tottenham are not even close to this price and never will be.

Said it recently about Rickie and everybody, well just about, thought I was talking nonsense. Why would he go to Liverpool and never play a full match ever again. Should have stayed here and been a massive part of our rebuilding plan. He was great for us and the supporters loved him so I think he got carried away with his dream and never actually thought about the reality. Get him back on loan in January? Wouldn't be surprised. Same reason why the other players have gone, yet I keep seeing suggestions on here that we sign this guy Mark or "a big name". So, we get rid of players because we can't pay £100k week, but we will then sign replacements who want £100k/wk?LOL
16.) St Sam: what I am obsessed with is this naive belief that we have millions to spend. We don't. £200 million is laughable.
There is about £10-£20 million left to spend on fees alone.
And the reason I am concerned is that fans delusions quickly turn to disillusionment. Expectations have to be realistic.
And to prove the point: I wasn't alone when I warned back in May that Southampton would lose several first teamers. It happened, quickly followed by anger, bitterness and disappointment. All of that was avoidable if fans had been realistic and understood how the market works.
Now we have a better perspective developed and cause for some moderate optimism

Cortese wouldn't be there and nor would the Leibherr money. If Cortese had carried on spending like he did ( and also making bad investments in players ) KL would have pulled out by now.

Just read that RK is considering rivaling Lazio and Utd for De vrij. Feyenoord are ready to listen for offers in the region of £7 million. I thought he was great during the world cup and would be a steal at that price. The lure of Utd maybe too much but, surely we'd have a chance with him playing under RK before.
1.) If that choice did come up, he would choose utd. But between us and lazio I would consider us favourites. Can't see this deal happening for less than £10m though
2.) He is in the last year of his contract so they may be forced into accepting lower offers around £7million, which still sounds a lot for a defender but it's around what we paid for Lovren anyway. Could be a good signing but sounds like competition for his signature is intense.
3.) De Vrij gets along really well with Koeman and Kluitenberg, he might prefer that and guaranteed first team football to possibly sitting on the bench at utd
4.) I do feel sorry for feyenoored as they have lost their manager to us lost many players and are continuing to loss players I feel like Liverpool to them and doing what they did to us. But yes de vrij would be a frat signing

Kolodziejczak Saints new left back?

3.) Every time I've seen Kolo play, he's looked very similar to Shaw, he'd be a good buy imo
4.) Armero was the Columbian left back at the world cup. looked pretty damn good too. He spent last part of season on loan at Spam I think.
5.) Armero*. Colombian full back, perfect replacement for Shaw, quick, quite agile can be very strong , and unlike Shaw, he can play further up the field and even score a few goals. Has had a really good world cup run and would be the perfect next signing for us for next season.

11.) I'd want Lovren to stay. No-one has seen any of those words actually come from his mouth so all of the comments I suspect have been stirred up via media & agents trying to force the move. Obviously he has made some disrespectful remarks somewhere along the line but nothing an apology won't fix.

13.) I would like to see Timothee Kolodziejczak come to Saints, he looks a big strong lad with bags of pace. We do have options in that area but this guy looks the business. West Ham were going to sign him but for some reason pulled out. £5m would secure him & IMO would be a superb addition.

15.) There is absolutely no way on God's green earth we will get Daley Blind. Come on be realistic. He was one of the world cup's stand out players. He will go to a CL playing club. Simple as that.
16.) Trust in Big Ron and the scouting team. Armero or Kolo will on paper do the job. Armero only a bit part player for West Ham, but shone in the world cup.
17.) Said this before and ill say it again. If armero was at west hoof last season why was he not starting and why have they not tried to sign him. they are also in for a left back. if he is not good enough for hoof he is not good enough for us.

I watched Toby A play for Belgium last night. Only saw 1st half and he played right back. He looks absolute class. Got forward alot. Great touch, looked very confortable on the ball and can pick a great pass. I think he's going to be immense for us. Oh before I forget defensivley he was great too. Some good tackles.

I'm really over the moon with the look of our squad. Toby and Mane are excellent additions. I think Mane is going to destroy quite a few teams this year with his pace and power. The most gratifying for me is that the board stuck to their word and didn't sell Morgan and Jay. that's huge for us!! After all of the doom mongering over the past few months I feel we've come out the other side of the tunnel a stronger squad. Well done to Ron, LR, RK and our owner Miss Liebherr and all of the team at SMS.

The club has got rid of the players that wanted out (and Mopo). Great money for Shaw and Ll and Lovren. Gaston on good wages but never performed and Osvaldo who was a waste of space.
Tadir and Pelle will prove to be the better buys of the Transfer window as for the new signings yesterday. Roko is our best signing to
Date. He is a great manager.
Unlike several big clubs (eg United) there have been no panic buys. Good promising signings which Roko will develops.
Keeping Spider and JayRod is key to all the squads building.
Finally a big thank you to Led Reed KL and The Board. You have done us proud.!

I've just got back from the Spuds game against AEL in Larnaca. Despite the result Spuds were absolutely shocking. I heard quite a few fans moaning about MP already which made me lol. Anyway thought i'd share my thoughts about Townsend. Well, I can't really say much other than he was terrible. Ran at players like a headless chicken and lost the ball nearly every time. couldn't beat his man against a pretty mediocre Cypriot team. His crossing left a lot to be desired too. Biabiany all day long for me. You can't judge a player on one performance but, I really hope Saints don't go anywhere near Townsend. What did you think Cyprussaint??

Van dijks mrs is having a baby apparently. that's why he wasnt in celtic squad today. would love it if we sign him though.

I don't buy it that a man of Koemans experince and knowledge of the game hasn't heard of Cerci. Maybe he was referring to the rumour itself. He was pretty quick to disregard it though. Maybe to deflect attention away from a possible deal. Straw clutching maybe but let's see what happens.
I wouldn't pay 12 quid for Townsend on the back of what I saw here in Cyprus last week.Awful. Next.
