If a deal for Damiao is to be done, Internacional have told interested teams it must be done before the 20th of July (when their transfer window shuts) as they would want to bring a replacement striker and an extra midfielder in using the money.

They have Nilmar lined up as well as Maicosuel of Udinese but will only sign them if Damiao goes.

Too pricey we could get better for 3rd of the price in europe

Agree damiao too expensive with not a great scoring record all he's had is decent Olympics would rather have callejon or even lukaku

No he hasn't you are making this up. He probably will but nobody will know for sure until it is announced on the official website. Getting fed up with other posts from other people in the country being amazed that good players are coming to Southampton. I think that they think we must play football in a field in the corner of a farmyard! I believe SFC in ten years will be a permanent top 6 club with gates in excess of 50,000 as there is nothing else this side of London worth watching, oh and by that time the lot down the road will be watching Havant & Waterlooville because their beloved club will be in the Southern League.

He is not making it up get your facts straight before mouthing off

"The Football Kenya Federation has congratulated Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama on moving to Southampton from Celtic, even though a deal for the 22-year-old has not been confirmed by either club. Beeb Sport understands that the transfer is poised to go ahead in the next 48 hours. "

Straight from the Beeb website. I'd say it looks like this deal is done, eh?

Personally i'm not sure if we overly need wanyama, think it's a shame that corky may get pushed out of the team due to his arrival but either way, £12.5 million shows our intent, COYR

We need depth! Wanyama, Cork and Morgan would be awesome!

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course we need Wanyama! If we are to push on from last season we need good rotation within the squad and the ability to change up the dynamics when certain matches aren't going our way! A winger, playmaker, fullback and striker and we are on our way!

Wanyama in opens up more tactical options plus if Clyne gets injured or suspended Cork can drop into RB which he did very well last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cork won't be pushed out, with the 3 of them we can use the rotation system so none of them are ever tired, it will add a competition element for those 2 spots too.

Agree0 Disagree0

If saint q is correct, which I think he is, that means that ever banega = our playmaker and leandro damiao = our striker! It is all starting to peice together now.
