They should not be allowed to spend on anything , they have not paid for their dirty laundry, physio, pizza & chips and of course that FA cup win.

If I was a manager I actually would look on rumour sites. Some of the players you hear suggested on here can actually be quite good but almost un-noted otherwise.

To all the saints fans saying Hooper is not good enough for the EPL you don't know what your talking about. He is easily good enough for the Prem, he's just to good for your team.
Why would he swap Champions League last 16 for Relegation scrap anyway.
Believable2
Unbelievable8
Possibly not a bad player of a sort but not now required by the Saints. Already have Billy Sharp on loan.
Agree9
Disagree1
He is not good enough for the EPL and not good enough for Southampton. If he joined the saints he would be picked behind Lambert and Rodriguez. Would be a pointless exercise. He is best off with Celtic playing Champions league football. It's not that he's not a good player... Just he's not right for the Premier league.
Agree3
Disagree1
How can you say he's not right for the prem yet he's playing and performing in the champions league. He would be in front of Lambert and Rodriguez. But it's irrelevant anyway as he will eventually leave for a much bigger and better team than Southampton
Agree1
Disagree3
Saints are better then u Skates. {Ed003's Note - I never thought nameless posts could get more childish,but how wrong was I.}
Agree1

I think we need a Lambert type player as cover for him and Rod is not exactly getting a basket full of goals. I think he'd be a good addition to the squad.
Agree0
Disagree0
Never heard any fan of any club saying they want Hooper.
Celtic should have taken the £8m. That was over the top and will never be matched.
Hooper's decent but like so many others, he'll do a job but not stand out in the Prem.
We don't need him. Rickie has a boot cleaner.
Agree3

Rodriguez can get goals. He is a good player and I think that's a harsh comment. He scored against Spurs and his goal against Newcastle was ruled out for offside when he was on... This while he has had a lot less game time than Lambert. He is a good striker and I think sufficient back up to Lambert. Mayuka should be put in that position too and could be a good goalscorer.
Agree3
Disagree0
Mayuka would be better than Hooper.

Why are the Celtic supporters on here worrying about Hooper to Saints?? Firstly, I believe that bus left a long time ago and secondly if he is too good for us and loves Celtic-then what do you have to worry about??
You guys are like someone with toothache who just have to keep pressing on the tooth! Move on, we have but the media may still be a year behind.

"Celtic should have taken the £8m. That was over the top and will never be matched"
Haha that is so pathetic, Hooper is worth £10m-£15m and is being watched by a lot of teams in England.
And as for over the top, paying £12m for Gaston Ramirez and touting him about like he's a world class player is over the top.
Also
Torres £50m
Carroll £35m
Henderson £17m
Rodriguez £7m
Giroud £12m
etc
Think saying Celtic are over the top is a bit stupid when the EPL is the most overpriced league in the world
Agree0
Disagree5
So why are Celtic so desperate to join the EPL??
Hooper? Will go-£6-£8m.
Agree0
Disagree0
The most overpriced league in the world? Look at Real Madrid's signings and the signings of PSG.
Agree1

As the saints fan said above, its not that Hooper isn't good enough to compete in the premiership but we don't need him, particularly for £8 million. I think there are far better players out there that would cost significantly less. In my opinion Lambert is better than Hooper, and Rodriguez will be a useful player in a couple of years.
Agree4
Disagree0
LOL. Hooper is never a £15m player. Only proven players or young players with exceptional ability would get a fee like that. Hooper was at Scunthorpe then bought for less than £2m to go to a pub league... he is not a proven top player. I agree, he is decent, but he would not be any Premier league sides no 9.
Cracks me up the bitterness bringing Ramirez into it... You clearly know nothing.
Agree4

So who are these English clubs watching him? Get real. For £5m yes, but when £8m was turned down - bye bye scouts.

'Why would Hooper swap a CL last 16 for an EPL relegation fight' - here's our fixtures for January -
Saints - Arsenal, Villa, Everton, Man Utd
Celtic - Motherwell, Hearts, St Mirren, Kilmarnock
Let's face it, even if Hooper was any where near as good as you're making him out to be, the CL tie is just a bonus game - you can't win the cup. Getting this far was an almighty fluke.
Agree7
Disagree0
Haha according to most saint's fans the qualifiers where just bonus games, we got through them, then apparently we was just in the group to make up the numbers, we qualified, and now the last 16 is just a bonus game.
Get a grip
Southampton, just in the Prem to make up the numbers and will never play in Europe.
and also, Hooper was bought to Celtic for £2.4m, not for less than £2m
Enjoy relegation
Agree0
Disagree4
Oh so sorry, £2.4m - massive! Well, actually by Sweaty Sock standards it is.
Relegation - dream on.
Yes, your Champions League group games were one fluke after another. When you got through anyone would think you'd won the cup. Every pundit and Celtic connection said how huge it is to get through and you rode your luck... that's football. You're a Championship standard club that rode their luck just like Bradford beat Arsenal... fluke.
Agree4
Disagree0
What you need to realise is that Celtic are only in the Champions League not because they're a big fish in a little pond, but because they are a little fish in a puddle of piss. You're in it to make the numbers up but for once, you managed a string of scrappy flukes. That is reality.
Saints might not get European football for a few years, but that's because we are competing against some of the worlds best week in, week out, not the Sunday league sides in Scotland.
Dross and meaningless trophies or worlds greatest league? The lesser players take the false glory while the best want to play the best.
Do you think you could sign our first team players? LOL

I have to say, Celtic would be huge if they ever got in the EPL. They would be on par with Man Utd in my opinion. But, this will never happen so thankfully I can continue to take the piss!
