That match was hard-going at times, too much complacency and we're lucky Hull didn't take advantage of it. Yoshida and Fonte did well at the back, the main issue seemed to be the lack of pressing on the wings which gave them opportunities. Cork had another solid game, great shot at the end as well! Rickie seemed to have an off day but no doubt he'll bounce back at the weekend. Overall the team has reached the same sort of form we had back in September/October time and now we sit 8th and only 2 points away from Manchester United which is a fantastic direction to be looking at rather than the mad scramble in the bottom half. Now let's get into the Quarter Finals on Saturday, COYR.

Interesting point on Radio Solent, they were saying that Shneiderlin has been consistently good this season but hasn't had any really outstanding performances, it's an interesting one, he has had a good season there no doubt in that but I think the rest of the team has improved so much that he doesn't look as outstanding in comparison to everyone else, as the likes of J Rod, Lallana, Fonte, JWP and so on have all improved so much, what does everyone else think about this? He obviously hasn't scored as much, but as Lallana and J Rod look like they're gunna double their last season's goal tally they can't all score! Thoughts?

Yeah Schneiderlin has had a very consistent season but he hasn't had that sort of outstanding performance that put him above other players last season. This year however we have seen that from Lovren and Lallana. It's the fact that the team has progressed as a unit which often makes it harder to distinguish any single player's performance.

I heard Ray Houghton refer to a player as a 'continuity' player - breaks it up and moves the ball on - simple, effective but nothing too outrageously eye-catching - although he did try an overhead the other day. Been our player of the season IMO for the last two years.

Lallana's eye-catching displays and consistency this season would have me as my pick for player of the season so far. My top 5 so far would be
1. Lallana
2. Lovern
3. Schneiderlin
4. Fonte
5. Rodriguez

Pretty hard to choose after 1st and 2nd, many other players in with a shout to get in that top 5. Its great we have more than 11 players performing to such a high level consistently

If cardiff go down then caulker might move. its 50/50 to be fair

Astori Caulker and Benatia all possible Caulker 10 million Astori 10 million Benatia 15-20 million

That's pretty expensive for defenders, I know Lovren was around that amount but I'm sure it wouldn't cost the club that much, even without Cortese's input. Still excited just in case any of them do arrive:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Any two or even one if font can carry on his form would be amazing. What do you think the chances are though. i'm not to sure?. I do think wr are going to spend again though in the summer don't you?

Agree0 Disagree0

Benatia would be perfect

I can't help but think he's out of our reach though mate wage and money wise. would love that tho.

Ings is looking like a good replacment for puncheon. I think defence is in most need of some attention though.
