good win today, though Ramirez again played well when he came on. I think he's getting better with every time we play him and I reckon by the end of the season he could be a key player, would still like us to sign some players though as IMO, Hoiveld, Fox and Guly should not be making the bench, I know chambers would've been there had he been fit, but I think we could do with a better CB and a wide player with pace. Or if we don't sign anyone let's give the kids a chance like Omar Rowe/Jake Sinclair/Loyd Isgrove playing as a Atacking Wide player or Jordan Turnball/Jack Stephens in to play CB. As they would improve from the experience unlike the players I mentioned above, who all played their part in getting us in the prem but now it's time for them to move along with, Forte, Banard, Martin and Lee
Clyne was dire today, did he even get a cross into the box? Or did every one cannon of the closest defender? Chambers for me would be first choice RB when available from now on. Ramirez was brilliant when he came on, was sat in St Mary's, just as someone was moaning about him coming on for Cork, he played that inch perfect ball to Lala and we scored, safe to say the person shut up after that
Ok ramirez played one good ball for the goal I will give him that but his passing overall was poor his mobility is dire and my 11yr old could knock him off the ball, he obviously can't handle the physical side of the EPL and his decision making is so slow at times as to be unbearable, FLASHES of brilliance obviously obscure the obvious he is not suited to the faster paced game and has had long enough now to adapt!
Some people are never happy.
He came on and created the winner! What more could you want??
Chambers was ill. I worry more when I see the team sheet and Luke Shaw is out rather than when Clyne is out - Chambers has done well but still think Clyne is in front of him.
Oh F off with the Ramirez bashing, if you think he 'played one good ball' and your '11yr old could knock him off the ball' you need to open your eyes, mate. Stop being a sheep and following the hate because you don't have the intelligence to form your own opinion.
I was at the game yesterday, but watched the game on TV last night.
I have to say that Gaston's pass was absolutely sublime. I must have watched the goal 15 times in a row last night, and it's clear to see that Gaston looks up, notes where Lallana is, and plays a ridiculous pass.
More of the same please Gaston.
My team would be Boruc Chambers Lovren Fonte Shaw Schneiderlin Wanyama Lallana Lambert Rodriquez Osvaldo
Well Paddy, not sure the point you are making. Out of your 11, one is suspended, one is unavailable due to sickness and one is still recovering from a serious injury and not yet back to full training.
The point I would make is that by the time those three are available for selection it would be a surprise if the other 8 were still available. So, there is a huge requirement on the management team to keep the squad fresh and to give the opportunity for players to slot into the team when needed and required.
What annoys me, and my whinge is not directed at you Paddy, is that when players are slotted in, for whatever reason, instead of looking for the positives of their performance we have some "supporters" who see it as an ideal opportunity to pull them apart.

Can I ask how you formulate your opinions? Ramirez has had long enough to adapt to English football, he struggles to play 90 mins and his pass completion is one of he lowest in the team. He is an overated player that is better suited to Italian football played at a slower pace. An utter waste of money and how many games has he played? yeah a world class talent ain't he?
Saints need additions saint martin no doubt about but as you said all our top first team players aren't always going to be avalable and I agree some players have to slot in when needed and some of them aren't good enough so I totaly agree with your post
I really do struggle to understand the mentality of some so called fans on here. Ramirez has a poor pass completion level? Oh no he doesn't. His stats. are now looking very good in that respect, so I suspect he has been working hard to improve that. His pass to Lallana was sublime and reminded me a little of Le Tiss, so get off his back and give the guy a chance.
Yes, he has a way to go yet to show how he can influence the game over 90 minutes but anyone who has any understanding of football can see how he is working to improve. Suggest some "supporters" could work on their knowledge of the game because you are starting to look a little out of YOUR depth!

I agree with Paddy, some of the cover is not good enough, but to the guy who keeps bashing Gaston, he came on and set up the winner, if he didn't come on we would have had 1 point instead of 3 and has clearly been improving lately if you have watched him play and he has shown how good he can be and I agree he needs to do better on a regular basis to justify his price tag, but you've also got to think about his potential, which is pretty big IMO
