Who would you rather see at saints, Wanyama or Nainggolan? In my opinion I think Nainggolan would be a better option!

We've had this post on here several times before. I still think Nainggolan is better. More technical and probably more of a match for Cork/Schneiderlin to provide competition. Although myself I'm impressed with Ward-Prowse. His recent press statement shows he's also got the confidence now and we've seen his ability. Cork and Spiderman better watch their backs or they could be loosing their spot to another top notch youngster.

Nainggolan every day of the week. Much more proven player and plays consistently at a high level in the serie A and in a good Belgium set up.
Wanayama promising talent but still only played 2 seasons in SPL (average league with no real challenge) and in a very poor Kenyan national side.

Looks like Wanyama is about to tie up a deal with the Gooners
Agree0

Looks like Nainggolan is being hunted by Spuds
Agree0

I would rather have wanyama. he's the sort of player who could quite easliy end up at real madrid in years to come
Agree0
Disagree0
Not sure Wanyama will ever go to Real Madrid. Just not got the quality in his game. He is an alright player but his game is more Physical than technical and that can only get you so far.
Agree0
Disagree0
I'd personally rather have Wanyama.
Mini-Saint

Nainggolan over wanyama definetly both quality but wanyama drifts out of games to much
Agree0
Disagree0
Were not getting either as both going to top six sides so irrelevant.
Agree0
Disagree0
Do we really need another DM, we have Cork, Shneiderlin, Davies and Prowse who can play there, Prowsey is gunna get better and better, hopefully will feature more next season?
Agree0
Disagree0
Who has actually seen Nainggolan play. ? I bet not a lot of you have. so how you can give a opinion is beyond me.
Agree0
Disagree0
As good as they are, we probably won't get either! 1) probably go o a top 6 team 2) we hopefully will spend the money on a different position 3) we got prowsyy who has pretty much proved himself to me and I think we should give him a chance along with spiderman, Davis and cork we have! Basically we won't get them and we don't need them anyway! I'd say get lamela, Richards, Astori and a quality striker if possible except we probably can't get these
Agree0
Disagree0
And of we do get these, wow
Agree0
Disagree0
Bit presumptuous commenter a couple above asking "who has actually seen Nainggolan play". I have seen him play multiple times as I have seen Wanayama play multiple times and Nainggolan is better. Plus even if you haven't seen him play, people are allowed to make judgements based on facts about players. e. g. who he has played for, how many times etc. And in both respects (watching him play and irrefutable facts) he is the better player.
Not everyone is as ignorant and ill-informed as yourself.

I'm sick of everyone saying someone's signin today and then tomorrow and then the day after people should stop focussing on when we are signing someone and start focussing on who we sign
Believable0
Unbelievable0
OK I'll do that later today or maybe tomorrow.
Agree0

By the way mate, someone is ACTUALLY going to sign tomorrow.
Might be the day after, not too sure yet, but definitely in the next couple of weeks.
Heard it here first.

Why it's just as much guesswork as the when!
Just sit back and enjoy the ride

Talk about hedging your bets. Tomorrow, the day after, next 2 weeks.

I think this is somewhat unlikely. Not sure we'll have so many centre backs or Centre mids. Plus some of the signings you think we'll make I have doubts on. (Plus the fact Cortese often takes someone at least who nobody saw coming).
Agree0
Disagree0
So every player were linked with were going to sign, dream on ffs
Agree0
Disagree0
^Come on. Be serious. That's definitely not every player we are linked with now is it?
And I'm sure you are aware of the definition of the word "or" (if you're struggling. 'or' means we won't sign both).
I'm not OP. I just think they've done their best to construct a squad using some of our realistic rumoured targets and I see nothing wrong with that.
Agree0

Chambers is predominantly a RB but can play RM!
Agree0
Disagree0
This isn't unlikely, these are the players we have been linked, to however, Fox, Guly and Hoiveld I think will leave, I'd like to keep Lee, so swap him with Guly then we need to also sign a LB unless Taggert is ready, then our team looks pretty damm good

I am a saints season ticket holder and have been for 30 years so I have seen all the bad times and now the good times. now for the first time in years we have funds available to get the best players we can. let the manager and the chairman go about there business and I am positive that very soon we will get some amazing players cyor

I love to know where all these rumours come from as I don't think Cortese will give away any information about signings until the deal or deals are done- he seem to be very dicreet about things. Does anyone else agree? Who said there will be a news conference on Thursday? Who said there will be announcements next week? Unless it came from Cortese himself then there no truth in the rumours. Again anyone agree?
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Some of this stuff can be through people close to Cortese or people who have to know i. e. security around the ground and the press department if a press conference is to be held. But the most likely source of information will probably be insiders from other clubs we are trying to do business with releasing information.
Agree0

Little of no transfer business is done at the ground or Staplewood. some is done overseas hence NCs awaydays or discreet hotels in Northern Hampshre.

Is it just me or is it not frustrating that we seem to be the last club to release our new kits and also this season our pre season friendlies schedule.
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Not really that annoying. Just need to be patient! Good things come to those who wait
Agree0

Relax little one, all in time for the memorial cup. I just hope it won't be like watching Stoke or Sunderland. But then I suppose there ain't a whole lot you can do really with red and white stripes.
Agree0

Likely to release the new kit when a player is revealed. double whammy
Agree0

Apparently there has been a press conference organised for tomorrow. Would be nice if it was a player unveiling and new kit release at the same time.

Think its fair to say we haven't a clue who we will sign as the Club keeps things quiet, doesn't like the Press and makes sense not to go public as it promotes a bidding scenario.
The only thing we know for sure is we'll end up with a stronger squad.
It'll be a goos season for the Saints. Forget CL as probably not realistic for a few years. let's just get behind out team, stop making pathetic rumours up and support whatever signings get made.

David Moyes coveting Luke Shaw, good job financially that Shaw has agreed to sign a 5 year deal on his pending 18th birthday. I would like to think he will stay for at least another season but if he goes then that 5 year deal will inflate any transfer fee and add ons.
It could however pave the way for a bidding war, with Chelsea (his boyhood team) rumoured to be also coveting Shaw. I'd like to see Nani come to st Marys in a part exchange, perhaps Buttner too. I think both players plus 2 million and a 25% sell on fee would be acceptable.
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Shaw won't be going anywhere this summer. Chelsea next season or the season following that. For £20 something million.
It's written in the stars that his boyhood club want him, need a left back (in a season or two after Cole retires) and will pay Saints considerably well for him.
Can't see it playing out any other way personally.
Agree0

Buttner has proven that he can't really cut it at this level and think there are far better players than Nani for the wages he would demand.
Agree0
Disagree0
2 million + buttner and nani for shaw! haahaha no thanks, firstly nani's wage demands are far too high for him to join us and secondly that would be a terrible deal for us. What have you been smoking? shaw is worth at least 25m
Agree0

25m pesos?
