Now that Kouayte has a belgian passport the issues of a work permit are gone and he'd be another great addition to our squad as well as sticking with our young and up and coming philosophy, I also think we should make a move for Andros Townsend as he'd provide great cover on the wings and he has a lot of potential which he showed at QPR last season, either him or Danny Rose as he could cover LB and LW, however Tello would be by far the best choice if we were to meet his 8.5m release clause as he could cove the striker role too, I think 22m is to much for Damiao, I'd like to sign someone like Finborgson, or maybe like Defoe or Bent who are proven goal scorers but someone younger like Morrata would be perfect COYR!

Christian Tello signed a new 4 year contract with Barcelona a couple of weeks ago and now has a £22m release clause so you can forget that one!

Tello's release clause is now far in excess of 8.5million he signed a new deal. I think we would benefit from Kouyate and Townsend though, would be well worth the investment. Top priority for Pochettino though appears to be a striker. I do hope we are looking to improve anywhere we can though as the full package matters.

Kouyate is amazing. Promising young CB. Strong, good in the air, fast, can pass, ticks every box.

Can't see us splashing around the £10m mark for another CB this window though.

Although if we were in for Damiao at £22m I'd much rather get Osvaldo + Kouyate for the same price.

Why do people keep going on about defoe! He is an injury prone, ageing, average striker with high wage demands. He got booed by his own fans towards the back end f the season.

Bent, albeit a mercenery would be a better signing, but still we could do better!

Osvaldo is being reported around an 8m fee with his earnings were 1.7m last year, therefore around 35-40k a week for his services but we could have to go up to 60k to persuade him to come

I am happy with our situation. I think the squad is very good. But Pochettino has stated he isn't done in the market yet and wants more attacking options. Deal with it. The FACT is that we still have money left to spend because we are now a rich club. Not deluded, just going on fact.

We're deluded for thinking we'll make more than 2 signings this summer? Yes we've spent 20m, last year we speant 30m

Now we are getting to the real meat of the transfer season, where all the big moves will take place and some of you clowns are giving up on us getting in a few new players. Get off this site and go sit in a corner!

Think we won't see anyone until deadline day

Seem to remember sitting in a corner waiting for the last two weeks in the Jan transfer window waiting for various players we were linked to signing up. Nothing happened then! I am though a little more positive about the next couple of weeks but my view is that it'll only be one player signed (a striker and I have no idea who as does anyone else judging by this page). I personally think we have made 4 or 5 fantastic signings already through our academy which some are in the first team but most will initially act as cover for the first 11. And it doesn't really bother me that most of our peers (6th - 12th) in the Prem are running around shopping like its the boxing day sales as I haven't seen much bought that would really improve our first 11.

Generally agree with cyprussaint but if people put names to their posts we might find out who's really deluded (or is that what you're afraid of?).

i herd that if Chelsea sign Rooney then Chelsea will either be putting lukaku on loan or for sale, he would be great for Southampton. (hes only worth 20M I think)

Poppycock. Ba is the one leaving and mourinho will use lukaku regularly. Torres may go if rooney joins however

I heard one plus one equaled three once, but that didn't make that true either.

I'd love us to get Lukaku, but it isn't going to happen. Besides, if I was Moyes, I'd get rid of that muppet Rooney and take cash plus Lukaku. He comes with a lot less baggage.

Ba would definitely be out the door first if Rooney came.

Mourinho likes Lukaku as he seems him as a Drogba type player that he used to have at Chelsea. He's getting a lot of game time.

However if anyone is likely to leave, Saints would probably be sniffing around as MoPo and Mourinho are buddies.

Southampton still want to sign 2-3 players, a striker, attacking mid and centre back. The striker will be either Damiao or Osvaldo or Finigboason, the winger will be Banega and the centre back will be alderweiereld, who do you think we will sign?

But Banega isn't a winger is he? thought he was an AM
