I think that saints should go in back of players like:
Basel's Embola ST
Benfica's Anderson Talisca CM
West Brom's Beharino ST
Athletic Bilbao's Laponte and Muniain CB, LW
Cruzeiro's Arrascaeta CAM
Mais 05's Johaness Geis CDM
Borrussia Mönchengladbach's Chistoph Kramer CDM
Anderlecht Mitrovic, Tielemans, Praet ST, CM, CAM
Club Brugge Mathews Ryan GK
Atlético Paranaese Douglas Coutinho, Marcos Gulherme ST, LM
Celtic Denayer CB
Lyon Fekir LW
Stade Rennais Paul-Georges Ntep LM
Thoose that are still young, but are very good players

You've got some nice ideas but few of these players are available. Embolo is being scouted by Bayern, Laporte has a buyout clause reportedly up to €50,000,000 and Geis will go to Dortmund. Mitrovic^ has been rumoured before though it is difficult to say whether he is worth going for yet.

Both Les Reed and Ralph Krueger have insisted that we won't be making a huge amount of signings and instead using the youth players for depth.

I think they were making that statement on the assumption both Clyne and Schneiderlin would stay, and a deal is done for Toby Alderweireld. That way we would only necessarily have to permanently sign three players, more likely two, a striker or a creative midfielder or a replacement for Jack Cork. Then add a season loan for a keeper, plus maybe another winger and we'd be relatively balanced in all departments.

However accepting for now that all three of them will be elsewhere next season, it would be a massive gamble not to replace those players and still bring in those additions just to keep us competitive for the additional games we may come up against next season. That would mean nearer to eight signings in total, nine if we bring in two keepers.

Some big decisions to be made this summer that's for certain!

and these decisions need to be made sooner rather than later

We will be lucky to have 4 real signings I reckon and before people start tearing it that I have no faith.just look back to the last 3-4 transfer windows and last summer was only like it was because we lost so many players les and kl didn't have a choice but spend and bring players in.

Yeah that's exactly the point I have made Southampton87! We would only need 4 players to improve the squad. But if we lose those three players as we expect to then you would expect they will have to make more signings that they wanted to. The only way we continue to improve is if we continue to strengthen, and I cannot see why we won't or cannot do that, especially seeing who we are regularly being linked with currently.

Yeah Toby Clyne and schniederlin are 100% off half if not more of the players were linked to are way out of our wage structure and with us wanting to be self sufficient we are not in no way going to sign more than 4 player's either way.I asked my mate at work about cedric and he is a sporting fan how good is he and he said he is half the player Clyne is so that just spells it out.we we're in a better position to buy a lot last season but les struggled to replace wot left last season and we needed to strengthen then.so to say we will sign more than 4 I just can't see it what I can see happening is Hesketh, galleger, reed, target.then 4 signings

Yeah I agree not many of those players we could offer the wages for unless they were willing to take big pay cuts. However if we can get Gaston and Osvaldo off the books then we should be able to offer a slightly better wage to some possible targets.

And actually thinking about it, the positions we need strengthening are those two roles, attacking midfielder and striker, so their departures will very likely determine if we bring in replacements for those areas. Personally I hope we send one of Sam Gallagher or Ryan Seager out on loan for a season. Playing in the Football League will toughen them up some more.

Good points there saintsfan29
But did u see that unbelievable goal Gallagher scored in the final against Blackburn wot a screamer.and osvaldo needs to be sold because every fan I speak to wants the same but I feel instead of loaning gaston back to bologna give him confidence in him by giving him a fare cracking at the whip I feel we would have to pay big to get the same quality but then again koeman has seen him and obviously doesn't rate him so again he needs to be sold I just don't understand our board when they lawn the pair out we still pay the lions share of the wages.either way come on u saints

What does everyone think of the new away kit

Personally I was hoping for a darker shade of green, but since it's fluorescent green it ranks up there as one of the wackiest away kits we've had so thumbs up for that.

It's been referred to as 'slime green' on social media, I'm not that keen, would have liked yellow/blue personally.

Liverpool fan here in peace. I hear that off the liverpool-rumours website that our bid for clyne was absolute rubbish any truth? appreciate a reply.

I don't think it was rubbish, £10 million for a player with a year left on his contract is not the worse. But we had hoped to keep him, that looks pretty unlikely now as he surely would already have signed a new contract.

If he had more years on his contract I think we would be asking for £20 million which is why £15 million is being bandied about a lot in the press for a deal to happen and that's probably what we are indeed after.

Considering shaw sold for 27
I think Brenda was taking the complete pass Clyne is twice the player but he has only got a year left on his contract like saintsfan29 stated.
So Brenda thought he would rub salt in our wound.
